Molly Brannigans Irish Pub & Restaurant
Molly Brannigans Irish Pub & Restaurant is about as Irish as it gets. As soon as guests enter, they can't help but notice the absolute flood of green that decorates the bar. Irish flags are used to decorate the dining room throughout the space. There are street signs from Ireland as well as other traditional decor.
Of course, the most important thing for any Irish pub is the beer selection. Molly Brannigan's proudly serves beer served throughout the U.K., but particularly Ireland. For appetizers, some of the specialties of the house include Olde World pretzel sticks, Killian's pickles, reuben beef bites and ceili tenders. Entrée selections include Guinness dip prime rib, open face pot roast, Molly's pub burger and traditional bangers and mash with braised cabbage and demi-glace.
Excellent service and very good food. Would recommend to locals and visitors to Erie alike.
Six of us had dinner before the fireworks. Wonderful server, had to wait a while to get our food
Great service and the food had the authenticity of Ireland! We loved it and will be back soon!
Nice remodel, nice additions to the menu. Service was outstanding!
Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant in downtown Erie. Truly a unique dining experience with a very diverse menu and great tasting food. The Buffalo Chicken Dip and House-made Tortilla Chips is a real standout.
Absolutely fantastic service! The all you can eat fish and chips special (on Fridays) was quite good. The drinks were wonderful. (We had the Old Fashioned, Four Leaf, and the margarita.) The space was recently remodeled and was light, bright, and remarkably clean. Definitely a great experience and looking forward to going back.
Food was very good. Menu was a bit eclectic but had many main staples as well. Oration size was on the light side.
The food was both comforting and unusual, with creative touches (Guinness reduction, smoked cocktails) that added to the experience. The wait staff was attentive. It was actually more than I expected -- I thought that the food would be secondary to the bar, but instead the bar supported the food.
Nicely refreshed venue, good service and updated menu.
Burger special a hit for Father’s Day!! Remodeling looks fabulous!
Have no complaints with the dinner. The bread and butter pudding lacked flavor and was dry.
Great Drinks & Great Food, you can tell the owners and managers truly care, keeping the food authentic with real Irish seasonings and Ingredients.
Seating in the back was very noisy. Food and service great. Hard to hear people at our own table due to noise level.
Not until it reopens with new menu. Current selections are basic bar food
I wish there had not been any reservations taken on this day because it was busy because of St Patrick’s Day. There were people who couldn’t even stand up because they were so drunk. The staff seemed confused that we had reservations. Our waitress did the best she could because it was so busy, but she was short with us. The menu was a few appetizers and no traditional Irish dishes, which is why we chose that restaurant. We were embarrassed we brought our out of town friends there, and we won’t be back.
A fun place to grab some food and drinks. Dinners were a bit pricey for what you get, but happy hour apps were very good. We will be back. Fun, historic building, good service. The reuben that went to the table next door looked fantastic. That will be my pick for next time rather than a dinner.
First time diner. Great food, great drinks and the atmosphere was totally Irish.
Hard to beat fireside seating - so cozy in winter! BF remembers the interior architecture from the 70s )
The food was just ok and for the price was not enough. We were both still hungry after we ate our entree. Nothing comes with your dinner, we had to order salads separate. Not even bread. I felt it was expensive for so little, and my husband even had to order a $10 appetizer! Our server was great. We probably will not return.
Be prepared as a diner that this is a bar. Although there are dining tables in the back its clientele and ambiance is Irish Pub/bar. The wood floors and walls are not sound muffling so all conversations at the bar carry through the building. Food was good.
They ran out of draft Guinness on Nee Year’s Eve. And charged us $6.50 (draft charge) instead of $4 for the can. Server never even told us that they were out. We knew it tasted awful but wondered why, and found out when we moved to the bar and the bartender told us. Our server seemed to be in a big hurry to rush us out the door when we wanted to stay and drink, hence why we moved to the bar. The food was pretty good, but overpriced.
We had a cozy table by the fireplace in the back room. Our waitress (Taylor) was friendly and very accommodating. She pointed out that the happy hour specials were in effect, 2 for 1 appetizers, and drink specials. We ordered drinks, a very nice red wine, and an exceptional regional craft beer, and looked over the appetizer menu. We decided to share four appetizers for our meal, and 2 cups of potato/leek soup. Everything was unique and delicious, and more than enough to fill us up. The menu has a number of excellent Irish dishes, plus several very nice pub selections. I would recommend Molly Brannigans to anyone looking for a good meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The back room where we dined was cozy and quiet, but the front of the restaurant is a traditional Irish pub, with all the trimmings.
