Always love the quality of the food and service at Mollies. An even better treat is when Mollie is in the restaurant in person, and she was last night making for a most memorable experience.
Great food. Great service. Sat on the patio and really enjoyed the ambiance. Definitely would recommend
Great food, excellent service. It was refreshing to find a Italian restaurant with good gluten free options, including pasta.
Very nice restaurant on a busy section of State Street. The menu of a good selections of dishes; however, the wine are on the expensive side. Food was delicious and generous portions. Service was a little slow as they were under staff.
Mollie and her staff are amazing. You wi NEVER have a bad meal from Mollie.
Took 2.5 hours to eat. Order was wrong. Appetizers and drinks late came with entrees. Overall not pleased.
Service was really mismanaged...waiter spent most of his time at one table and ignored the rest of us...we waited more than 20 min for check and finally went up to cashier to pay.
Excellent dinner and service. Wine list quite limited unfortunately.
Mollie's specializes in offering classic Italian dishes done classically. The food was very good, but not the best we've had in Santa Barbara. The service, unfortunately, was slow; we had to ask more than once for more water. A big plus was the noise level -- quiet enough to have an enjoyable conversation speaking normally. I'm glad that we went once, but will probably not return.
Always exceptional food
Sat outdoors so can’t comment on ambience. I believe they had exactly one waiter serving the entire place for a Saturday night. We sat for 25 mins before he came to even take our drink order. No joke. I’d never go there again. Food was fine but nothing special and it shouldn’t take 2 hours for 3 people to eat a simple meal (no apps, no dessert).
Some of the worst service and food we have had in Santa Barbara.
Mollie's relocated to this location on State street from Montecito. Same recipes. They have a great reputation, as the namesake founder has received acclaim for cooking for Oprah, Obama, the White House, etc. Fresh pasta dishes all around was delicious. Outdoor setting was nice on State street. Good dusk ambiance and people watching. Fun & relaxing dinner. Service was just a bit off the night we were there - perhaps due to Covid short-staffing. Nice but extremely slow. Had to remind wait staff multiple times on multiple occasions about forgotten drinks, bread, no silverware, water, etc. Would give them another shot though. They can do better.
Excellent dining experience!
It was my first time here and I can't wait to go back. I had the homemade lasagna special and it was divine. My friend had the branzino and loved it. Ambiance is great, good and service delicious. I would definitely recommend it.
Awesome food; great people
Great menu. The food was very good as was the wine list and the selection of local beers. We very much liked that it was quiet and you could here your friends talk which is not always the case with other restaurants.
Mollie was there and we so enjoyed having her come by our table. We have been here many times and keep coming back because it’s that’s good! This time we brought our friends from Thousand Oaks, it was their first time and they LOVED it! Don’t change!!
Been going for years. Mollie has a way with Italian preparations through her staff which has been professored by her for a decade plus. Mardi from Milan runs the floor and is outstanding. The location is beautiful and spacious, there is nothing to dislike.
The staff were oddly distracted and albeit limited. The food was middle of the road. Hostess was not warm and lacked charisma to overcome staffing challenges. It’s not a bad place at all - just need to step it up and put their heads back in the game.
The food and ambience were wonderful Friday night, and the server was particularly helpful and charming. We sat by the window and watched the State Street world walk by, in evening sunshine. It was a post-pandemic reunion of my family of five, and the celebration could not have been more lovely nor more delicious. Mollie was there, overseeing it all!
Food was decent. Mollie did not want to take a selfie with us. Service was so slow. They took forever to give us our check. Not sure she can classify the treat that came before the check a “cookie”. I can never turn down a cookie but I took one bite then hid it in my napkin as I did not want to be rude and put it back on the plate. Although once everyone else tasted it, they did the same. All in all, it was an ok experience but probably would not revisit. There are too many other restaurants that are so good, they make it to our regular rotation list. Unfortunately, Mollie’s does not qualify.
Ambiance and food are fabulous!! Mollie was there making sure guests were enjoying their food and dining experience. Will definitely return when we are next in Santa Barbara.
As always, fabulous food. We have really missed the experience of dining at Mollie’s and we are so happy to return. The house made pastas are incredible and we tried all of the daily specials. Yum! We will be back.
UCSB graduation celebration for my granddaughter! We enjoyed some of the tastiest Italian food I have ever had. The wait staff went above and beyond to make it a special meal and experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Always a special treat to dine here. Food was exceptional and service is impeccable. Always great to support a family owned and operated business.
It was my birthday and we made reservations stating it was my birthday. The table wasn’t ready for us and the service was really slow. My daughters pizza was great but the gnocchi wasn’t tasty for my other two daughters. They can be picky so I can’t blame Mollies for that. The service was painfully slow, even for the desserts. It was pretty chilly and I had to ask three times to get the heater turned on to keep us warm outside. Overall, I felt underwhelmed by the experience. We’ve been there 3-4 other times before covid and it was excellent. I’m so disappointed, we just don’t go out very often these days and to spend the time and money on a fine dining experience which was mediocre is just disappointing
Great date night restaurant experience.
Mollies never fails to deliver a delightful and delicious experience. Lovely service, extensive but flexible menu, there is something for everyone. Lovely way to celebrate Mother’s Day! Unexpected tiramisu included, just delicious.
Had out of town guests. The menu is very extensive and I’ve never ordered anything that wasn’t excellent. Great salads, wide variety of pasta dishes. Our friends were thrilled with both the ambiance and the food. Thanks!
It was a birthday celebration. Food (daily specials) was outstanding. Service was attentive.
Could not have asked for more. We will return soon.
Bc of covid we sat outside. The service was wonderful, attentive and friendly. Food was excellent!
I had a reservation and when I get at the restaurant they were close, well done to informe your guests.
Great evening! I love sitting outside on State Street. And love the artichoke salad!
Accepted to UCSB!!!
We enjoyed a quiet socially distanced dinner on a weekend getaway. They were very accommodating and accepted the open table points reward too! We had the shrimp paparadelle and the veal piccata. Both were divine
