This was our first visit. The server was name Eric and he was outstanding. We had a time issue and he took care of us quickly and efficiently. The food was superb.
I thought the wines were priced a little high but I guess that is for the downtown rent.
Great food, great wine list, a little pricy, but a good addition to market square!
great food and staff friendly...our waiter opened the wine and I had to tell him we should taste it...which he did then...and proceeded to decant. but never poured any for us and never came back to keep the glasses full. he did stop back to check on food...which was very good. we'll be back...it's the small things!
Terrific food excellently prepared. Great service too. Attentive but not intrusive.
We sat outside and were approached by several individuals looking for money as they walked by. Pretty annoying. The food and service were terrific.
Limited menu and no pasta sides in an Italian restaurant is not good.
All the food was great!
Great new Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh — pizza and lasagna delish!
I was really looking forward to trying Molinaro. We went with some friends of ours that every month we try to find some place new. The staff was friendly and our server was exceptional. The food was ok, nothing special. Our biggest issue was the fruit flies. I have never been to a restaurant, especially one that was very pricy that we actually had to ask to be moved because they were everywhere. We did get moved to another table, but we still had an issue. I was actually disappointed that the manager never came to the table after we had complained so much about them. I don’t think we will be back. (BTW...we were sitting inside the restaurant and the doors were closed to the outside).
Except for the huge, black fly that kept bothering us, we thoroughly enjoyed our first-time trip to Molinaro Ristorate. Ample quantity of food (however, prices were higher than expected), our waitstaff (and others) open, friendly and very attentive to our needs before we needed to ask for anything. Appeared to enjoy their positions. Enjoyed the multiple veal dishes available, pizza as an appetizer perfect. Coffee was delicious.
Too much for house wine. $16 a glass. 👎
Dinner before the theater.
First time at your restaurant. Food was delicious. Server was extremely nice and helpful.
Beautifully decorated and very clean. Very impressive. Will definitely return. It is now one of my top favorites.
This was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised. Delicious food, comfortable seating, nice environment and fantastic service. We'll be back!
Best seat in Pittsburgh!
Great food and friendly waiter. Really enjoyed the lemoncello cake.
We came with a group of 6 to entertain out of town guests. We were seated with menus then no service person appeared for 20 min. Our drink order was taken, then she disappeared again. My husband went to the bar to get the drinks and then we got a little attention as the bartender musty have told the server. Shew came to the table and apologized saying she was only working there 2 weeks and still learning.
We were looking at the menu and another server came by to ask us if we had ever been to Molinaro and to tell us about the specialties. We were getting ready to order and the server realized we had lunch menus. Another 10 min to give us the dinner menus. When we wanted a second drink, we just went back to the bar. Food is actually good but the service is deplorable. This is a pricey restaurant and there is no excuse for service that bad.
Our meals were great!
Service was just okay- not much attention but she was a lovely girl.
We were dining with someone who was using a walker and the logistics were tough with the entrance ramp
And the restroom. We made it work.
it was a beautiful Pgh evening- Pirates were in town and Market Square was bustling..... fireworks too!
I really enjoyed the restaurant and will be back soon!
Food and service were excellent.
The most comprehensive Italian ‘wine by the glass’ program I’ve ever seen. Good value for money.
Food was Wonderful & we were outside & it started to get a little chilly & they put the heater on for us & it was just PERFECT!!!
Will definitely be back 🤗
Food was excellent and Angie and Daniel were the best!! Look forward to going back!
Good addition to city's dining scene. Outdoor seating overlooks Market Square. Large windows in corner open up in nice weather to allow bar area to feel like it is outside. Very pleasant workstaff. Wine list is impressive and well conceived with a variety of good bottles at all price points.
We had a great dining experience at Molinaro’s! The food was amazing, starting with the amazing bread and fresh mozzarella, and then we enjoyed the tender chicken caprese and gnocchi. Wonderful service and atmosphere! We will be back!
Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Nice for outdoor dinging(weather permitting). Overall, we were quite happy with our food which was warm and tasty. We got off to a bad start as we waited a long time before we saw a waiter to take our drink order. It took a long time to get the drinks and then we waited again before being able to order our food. Once we had the attention of our waiter, he was pleasant and efficient. We were celebrating a birthday and he brought a piece of cake at the end of our meal--a very nice gesture . All in all I think that I need to go back as I think it's definitely worth another shot!!
Food: I had read a review in Pittsburgh Magazine that praised the pizza and overall southern Italian cuisine at Molinaro. The review was so effusive, I was dreaming about margarita pizzas. However, I found the margarita pizza two friends and I ordered as an appetizer to be bland, bland and more bland -- clearly not worthy of the hype. Uninspired dough. Thin, unseasoned sauce. And a couple dollops of mozzarella. I also ordered the panzanella salad, which featured red and yellow tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, basil and bread cubes in a vinaigrette dressing. The "star" of the dish is supposed to be the tomatoes. So, one would expect them to be juicy and ripe. Not so, however. Despite the fact it was mid-June when fresh tomatoes easily can be procured and despite the fact that the produce terminal in Pittsburgh is less than a half mile from the restaurant, the tomatoes in this dish tasted like the steel-belted radial tomatoes one gets in winter. What a disappointment!
Ambiance: This is the best part of the restaurant. On a 75-degree day with the sun shining on Market Square, being able to sit outside under an umbrella and enjoy the scenery was a delight.
Service: OK but not stellar. When I asked for salt and pepper for the bland pizza, the waitress brought a grinder and proceeded to salt and pepper my slice and then walked away with the grinders. When my salad came and I wanted pepper and salt, I again had to ask for it. Why not just leave it on the table?
It was a beautiful night the doors were open. The patio was full of diners enjoying the evenings. This was our first time to try the new menu and the food codices and quality was excellent
All of their prices have been reduced to appeal to a much wider audience
A perfect evening 😋👏🥂
Service was sub par. Waited an extremely long time to order and our server was not attentive at all.
We had a reservation and upon arriving hostess and others were scurrying around trying to accommodate those who had similar reservation times; appeared to be plenty of tables? Took a long time for waiter to get to us and ask if we wanted water. We noticed other waiters approaching tables with water. We ordered drinks which the waiter accidentally knocked over one (understandable but bill had charge for spilled drink and replacement drunk!) we had to ask for bread and no bread plates were provided. Food took a long time to arrive. Food was okay. I won’t have to return to this restaurant.
Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Our server was inattentive.
Food was over priced and not that good! What restaurant doesn’t have ranch dressing! Also the drinks soda and iced tea are bottled for 4.50 I expect fresh brewed tea not crap in a bottle
Great dinner, great service wonderful food.
veal was done just right tuna as well. wine list is very good a Jacob our server was outstanding. great experience for a new restaurant enjoyed the open air dining.
Had a very enjoyable meal and the setting is very nice. Right in the heart of the city! Staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. Would go back.
Great option for downtown lunch. Food is great, service was excellent and the atmosphere was conducive to good conversation. New menu is great, loved the Zuccini frittes
We have never been disappointed at Molinaro. The food and service are always excellent. Friday’s dinner was truly exceptional— the seared tuna was the best we’ve ever eaten anywhere. Highly recommend.
Stopped in for dinner on a Monday evening. Called ahead to inquire about valet since I have a broken ankle. Much to my dismay after climbing out of my car with crutches found out that no, they did not have a valet. Sat outside. The restaurant was not full at all but our waiter kept complaining that he was "very busy". Bread clearly came from the freezer as it was still very cold. The rest of the food was average at best.
No crab meat, no coffee, no iced tea. I could go on but what's the point. There are many great destination restaurants in Pittsburgh now - there is no reason to waste any time here again. Very disappointing.
Service was decent but food was bland and so expensive for what you were given. Will probably never go back.
I was there with my wife and 2 teenage children. The food, wine list and service were great! We can’t wait to go back. Our waiters name was Jeff and he was outstanding.
