Food delicious as always. A bit noisy but overall fun place.
Awesome mahi-mahi preparation
We still talking about it.
Above us.from ceiling There’s a water leakage. Drops. Drops .we didn’t want to move. And stuck it out
Please check on it.😊
Our waiter (Cody?) was very good and attentive. The food was pretty good and the strawberry cream pie was excellent. Really noisy... so much so that our party had to almost yell to even hear each other. But, overall a good experience.
We were visiting O’ahu and stumbled across this gem. We had such a great time - we went two nights in a row! The food was fantastic! Try the duck!!
Highly recommend going to Moku Kitchen for Happy Hour. There are drink specials. The food specials are that the small plates are 50% off (with the exception of poke and oysters). The pizzas, which are quite good are $10.00. We enjoyed the drinks and food specials.
Had a great time at happy hour and beyond. Enjoyed the music
Went for my birthday dinner. Staff was friendly, food was great, 10/10 recommend to everyone!
The food is very good and creative. Portions are perfect and the servers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Noise level is pretty loud so very hard to hear conversations.
Trendy, fun, party atmosphere. Perfect for a date night or gathering with friends! Will definitely go again!
as always, it is great food and good beers.
clean and the services is good
worth the wait
I enjoyed everything all the way till it was time to leave and the server was missing for 15 minutes. By this time I was tired and had to drive all the way to Waianae. I still left a good tip, although I asked another person where the server was and they said: "I don't know, maybe he went on break he will be back soon." He didn't even ask if we needed anything or check if he could find him. It wasn't until we walked up to the bar to ask someone for our check that anyone even noticed us.
AWESOME! Everyone was impressed, including vegetarians!!! Keep up the healthy, onolicious options!
Good place to take a date or just chill at the bar.
Happy Hour 3-5:30! 50% off non seafood items & $2-$3 off cocktails & beers. Food is mostly locally sourced & prepared with care. Favorite items are butternut squash ravioli, ahi tacos & garlic fries. Strawberry pie is a must try dessert.
Great place to go with friends, appreciate the round tables for conversation and sharing food.
Our server was excellent. The food was delicious but a little over priced. For example, $15 for a grilled cheese sandwich: fries were an extra $6.
The place was good for meeting place for young people. Very casual. I hope they also serve nigh standerd meal such as big island beef stakes.
Always great food and service. Wish they stayed open later with full food service. Difficult finding late night food after other events.
I have been here many times but this time it was super loud in the Dining room area. They had live music coming thru the speakers throughout the restaurant which was super loud. That caused everyone around to yell to be heard which caused it to get louder. We couldn’t even hear our server speak to the table as a whole. She had to get down next to each of us a repeat herself. I don’t mind a lively atmosphere if it’s a full on bar but for the restaurant area I would think there would be some kind of adjustment. But Maybe that’s not the vibe they are going for
Excellent music by Jeff r
Great service by Ben and Lauren
Always delicious food.
My wife and I were celebrating a birthday, and I feel as though the hosts at Moku did not handle this very well, at all. When we made the reservation, we put it in the notes that we were there for a birthday. The reason we put it in the notes instead of mention it at the front is to avoid any awkwardness that is associated with such a request. But if you're out for a special occasion, and a restaurant does something for that occasion, then it's reasonable
My wife checked-in at the front, and told the host we were okay with sitting at the bar. I got an email from OpenTable that we didn't make our reservation, and how that negatively affects the restaurant. The thing is, we were there, so I went up to the hosts and told them that. I then proceeded to tell them that we had put in there that we were celebrating a birthday, and if they could let the bartender know.
They didn't correct the reservation status, so I had to email OpenTable explaining that we were indeed there for our reservation, which I shouldn't have to do. I also had to let the bartender know that we were celebrating a birthday, which was slightly awkward to do. And again, that's why we put it in the notes so we don't have to make things awkward like that. Both my wife and I are in the service industry, but again, we were celebrating something and it simply wasn't handled well by Moku or their staff, at all. The bartender did seem slightly annoyed at me telling her this, which I understand from a server's point of view, but had the host passed the message along this could have all been avoided.
We love coming here, and do so fairly often. This is the first time I've made a reservation, however, and wish the staff would not expect their guests to do their work for them.
Music was a little loud as always, but the food and drinks are always excellent. The service was great although we did wait a little long for food to come, but they were all fired perfectly and all came at once.
We met for a biz dinner and it was a little loud (band) but they moved us to the back so we survived. Food and everything else was great. Stellar service.
Not the best service we’ve ever received but the food was exactly as expected.
Moku was just what
Very good food, great atmosphere, only negative its a little loud
Favorite restaurant in Hawaii!
Food and service was good. Music was a bit too loud where it was hard
Vege plate, $15, consists of two pieces of cauliflower, half a carrot, two small mushrooms, less than half a cob of corn and half of an onion. All grilled to a crisp. Wow!
Overall good restaurant. Started off bad, seated 15 min after reservation time, very annoying. Although cooked perfectly Pepper steak lacked flavor and seasoning. Bulgogi tacos outstanding. Strawberry pie phenomenal.
music too loud. why live music needs to be further amplified on speakers to the other side of the restaurant is beyond me. waiter doesn’t even bother with tables. he can’t hear either.
We had a great time! Apps and main course were great. Dessert menu left a lot to be desired. Only 2 items - cream pie or sorbet. Good…but not great! Up your game Moku!
Moku kitchen is always a wonderful place to dine due to the local and relaxing ambiance, amazing farm to table food, wonderful service, and their specialty cocktails (my personal favorite)! However, the one thing that stops me from dining here more often is the acoustic design and material selection makes the restaurant interior ridiculously loud. I always opt to sit in the smaller right-hand (from entrance) side or outside to avoid the noise levels.
Got seated right away with our OpenTable reservations. Other patrons were told there was a 60 minute wait.
Always a great time!! Great staff delicious food fab drinks!! My go to place!
Great wine choices, fish and chips with malt vinegar aioli was a fresh approach!
Always great food, cocktails and service. Love this place!
Daily special menu not printed by the time we arrived. Few of the items were not available as well as winesThey were nice to give us a special anniversary cake however, it came after we ordered and consumed our dessert. Boxed it to take home.
We six were possibly older than most customers there (early 60's to early 70's), but we're a congenial bunch of long-time residents and definitely had fun! Note: we do NOT identify as "seniors," as none of us is retired (but we think about it!). We were celebrating two birthdays on a weekday mid-afternoon, so not a regular meal. I tried 4 items (though I only actually ordered pie and a cocktail): green beans (yum--lots of mac nuts and garlic, and what a great non-cheese alternative for a snack to have with drinks), fries (not bad--we ate them all), veggie pizza with "stinky" cheese (fancy, rich and tasty, so a small slice was fine for me), and strawberry pie (that's one eye-poppingly sized dessert, though in my opinion it had too much creamy/moussy part and not enough fruit, but I gobbled it down with a big spoon nonetheless--good flavor and substantial house-made crust, which is what I came for--count calories? Not me!). Plus we had various drinks (I liked the Pimm's cup--refreshing, not too sweet, has some stuff to munch on--strawberry, cucumber slices, fresh mint--and not too strong with the liquor content either, which I liked because, getting older, I don't tolerate alcohol as well as I used to, so apparently it was so good, I had two!!). Wish the banquette was a little bit larger--we were pretty packed in (no room for presents!), it might have been a better space for 4 people comfortably, but we all like each other, so we managed. Server was engaging and had a great memory--we were impressed. We also thought it seemed like it would be fun to sit at an outdoor table (next time?). Sound system was better out there too. Weather needs to settle down a bit, though, for an optimal experience outside. Chose this place because of an article in Honolulu Magazine.
