Moku Kitchen is a chef-driven concept that brings Hawaii’s rich upcountry farming and ranching heritage to downtown Honolulu’s urban lifestyle. The upcountry way of life echoes a simpler time where food was locally-sourced and cooked over an open fire on the ranch. At Moku, we like to keep things simple and will serve Chef Peter Merriman’s twist on upcountry specials from our lively rotisserie oven.
Named after the Hawaiian word for “island”, Moku will be a gathering spot where anyone from elite foodies, families, or people seeking an authentic taste of Hawaii can swap stories and relax with an ice-cold draft beer, a carafe of wine, and an amazing meal. Everyone will feel a sense of home at Moku Kitchen.
We ordered an appetizer and the entree came out before app. Waiter asked if this was okay and we said no. The entree tasted like it was kept and rewarded. Loved it last year. Sadly disappointed this ywar
Great food and service, but terrible acoustics. It’s difficult to have a conversation.
sat outside- could enjoy the live music playing inside. had all the appetizers cause can’t beat 50% off at happy hour!! all delicious :)
40th birthday celebration
Nice casual place for dinner with family& friends.
We went for happy hour and loved the pork potstickers (they were slightly spicy and yummy) The mushroom pizza was tasty and mellow. Just enough. Service was quick and courteous. Very good value!

Julius was our server and took exceptional care of us.
He explained the menu, we wanted to try everything
He helped me select a beer based on beers I like. Great experience
To celebrate a promotion. Food was delicious and our server was pleasant and friendly. Enjoy this restaurant every time I come here. n
Always enjoy coming back to Moku to visit with friends. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is flavorful and of high quality. Moku is a favorite of ours since it opened. Mahalo nui for a wonderful gathering place!
Scrumptious farm-to-table food, with a great beer and wine list! Highly recommend. Very noisy inside, but patio is quieter. Love the area!
Fun place with variety of foods and drinks. Any age can go and have a great time. This is from a Kupuna.
Ka'i was excellent. He was very courteous, friendly and well informed. It was a pleasure being served by him. The food was excellent. Was expecting a more formal atmosphere but thought the informal setup was excellent for drinks and finger food. A good restaurant for the area and its clientele. Made me want to upgrade to Merriman's Honolulu for a more formal dinner come the end of the year.
This was a great fit for my family for Thanksgiving. We ordered our food from off the regular menu and ate family style. Everything was a hit with my spice and vegetable loving group who aren't that into Thanksgiving classics (though they offered that menu too). We got madacamia green beans, butternut squash ravioli, coconut corn chowder, jalapeno mashed potatoes, garlic and truffle fries, grilled veggies side plate, poke, Brussels sprouts side, kale salad, and they were all delicious.
We sat outside which was pretty calm but inside seemed a bit more boisterous. The service was also great. The only changes we would have made would be 1) validate all parking. Staff were very conscientious about validating but then we had to pay $1 as we were leaving. Not a big deal but it's annoying to have to bust out a credit card for $1. Also, we thought the chocolate macadamia nut pie would be more like a pecan chocolate pie. It ended up being more like a chocolate mousse type thing, which we were less into, but that may just be us.
Great food. Highly recommend.
Thanksgiving...turkey and all the fixings on a big plate... AND the best part, a complimentary turkey sandwich to go with great condiments!
The squash ravioli appetizer is so delicious!!
We enjoyed the Thanksgiving special with the take home sandwich! What a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving. Thank you!
Food's good, and locally sourced. Prices seem fair, but parking feels like a nightmare (just the kakaako area overall, especially during events).
The food is always fabulous but service today was less than adequate. Our server never offered to refill our drinks. We would always have to flag her down.
Very nice! We’ll be back!
Wings were not as I remembered from prior visit. Duck was excellent
The food was delicious and the music was on point. I had a hard time eating because I was to busy singing along to the jams.
Salad was meh
Can't go wrong with the amazing Mai Tai with Liliko'i foam! Great ambiance, thoughtful service, and hearty food. Mahalo for another good time!
We were running a little late due to traffic, I called ahead to let your staff know and they were very nice. The service was fantastic from the beginning until we left and one of our parties wanted to do a shot even though we had already closed out our bill. Our waitress immediately got our shots!!!
We highly recommend your establishment, always happy to gather there for good food and excellent service with a smile. Mahalo
I love coming here for the food & ambiance! Always good, always consistent. Staff is just friendly!
Great food, good service! I would recommend to family and friends.
Overall food and service as expected. Only thing that could have been improved were the French fries served with the battered fish. Fries were Luke warm and soggy
We have been big fans over the years and the food has been good but this time things were different. The food was off. I don’t know if it’s a new chef or a substitute chef but the quality was not on point the night we were there. The Fish Tacos had mayonnaise in them, so much that it was all I could taste. A very western take on them and not too Asian. The duck tacos used to be our favorites but this night they just seemed flavorless.
The pot stickers were also very average, the dough to thick and the texture not crispy enough.
Sorry it was an off night for us.and the chef.
Food and service was exceptional.
When they opened this restaurant, taste was much better. Unfortunately, almost all foods which use soy sauce kind of things were so salty. I hope they have quality control department. Staffs are so kind as usual. Parking has problems. In front of restaurant’s parking is always clouded. Parking structure design is so bad and very narrow, so I recommend to park other place.
Good service. Good choices of food which were excellently prepared.
It was really good. Thought the ahi special I had was a little heavy on the salt. Other than that, everything was delicious and our server was fantastic.
The service was extremely slow. Drinks took forever. Fries were cold and overcooked, and the portion of the special could have passed for an appetizer. Overall disappointed and walked away wondering why we chose to eat there again.
Great for a large group.
Very good food and service.
Amazing chicken meal! Please keep this on the menu! Much needed addition and it is delicious!
Consistent with food and service. Purty good good with fun ambience
