Salsas and tacos were excellent
We have already been to Mojo 3 times in 10 days. By far, our favorite Mexican spot in Boulder. The Elotes are, by far, the best version that I have ever tasted. The portions are generous (holy Burrito the size of my head) and everything...EVERYTHING is delicious. The Pineapple Habañero Marg is not to be missed. The staff is trained and friendly; which, is rare when a new place opens. I will bring my friends and send my friends to Mojo, over and over again. It beats EVERYONE else, in Boulder.
We love it! It really got noisy after 6 p.m. hard to visit with old friends we don’t see very often.
Something off on food. Not nearly as good as lyons.
I sat outside with a friend for lunch here the other day. Behind the foliage we were able to forget we were basically in a parking lot. I ordered the corn salad with added shrimp and it was delicious. My friend had veggie enchiladas and loved it. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We also had the Yerba Mate orange and ginger iced tea and it was refreshing and delicious. Our only disappointment was the too few dessert options though we had their very creamy and not-too-sweet chocolate ice cream.
It's a good thing we had reservations on Saturday night because the restaurant was packed, with people waiting outside, when we arrived at 6:30. Curiously, by 7:30 the place was almost empty. We noticed there were many families dining here so maybe the restaurant, not located downtown, will get an earlier crowd. Or maybe not many have heard it's now open.
Our servers were fast and friendly. I was only able to sample one dish and one cocktail this time around. I had veggie enchiladas with a pork chili sauce. It was flavorful and fresh-tasting probably due to the inclusion of fresh corn kernels. My cocktail, the Paloma I think, was a bit disappointing. It was mostly flavorless.
My husband enjoyed his burrito though it wasn't very spicy, which is how he likes it. His favorite is at Ephraims. Maybe he could've gotten it spicier if he had asked.
The salsas accompanying the chips were varied and delicious.
Excellent food, friendly service, great place. The noise level is high, so it's not a place to have a quiet conversation. But it's a lively spot with great Mexican food, so we'll be back.
Recommend to make reservations.
Made 5pm reservations on a Sunday. Resturant was packed by 6.
The ambiance was lovely, and the service was fine; the problem was that the food just wasn't good.
It was our first time to Mojo, on a recommendation from friends. We were celebrating our 31st anniversary, although we did not mention this to our server Miranda. She was so sweet and gave the best service ever! She brought out drinks and apps, and even offered to give us time to relax and enjoy them before taking our dinner orders. She was new to the restaurant, but had excellent advice, and knowledge about the food, drinks, and menu! I’m really happy she took care of us, because it made the evening perfect! Although, we were stuffed from all the delicious food!
Mojo is a fun, casual, super enjoyable place to eat mostly because the staff and service are so amazing. The food is always hot and delivered quickly. Yucca fries are a must. My third visit to Mojo was the best -- somehow the tacos were better than the first two times (some were slightly "mushy" on my first visits). Mojo is a fun place to go, I was glad I did not give up.
A Mexican restaurant with no cheese??! I ordered nachos w/queso but there was no cheese. My husband thought his Tostada was o.k., but again, no cheese. Service was extremely slow. We ordered the 3 dips + guacamole as appetizers, and it took forever to get a chip refills. There were 4 adults & one child. The adults had 6 drinks which equaled almost half of our $114 bill, and this was during Happy Hour!!!
Our experience was overall mediocre. The food was average and the service was average to poor. They input the wrong items for our kids and the server was managing both inside and outside tables. The latter is not his fault, but rather the managers for putting him in those sections.
Also, our taquitos were plated more like an appetizer than a main. It was taquitos sitting in a bowl of salsa verde essentially. Sorta off putting.
Picas across town is superior, in our opinion.
This is an instant favorite for us. We’ve been back three or four times since it opened a month ago. Great food, amazing margs, caring service, and a nice ambiance. A little loud but you can sit outside to get away from that.
Everything I have ordered has been tasty. Inside is a little noisy but outside dining is delightful.
We had such a great time in this new restaurant! The food was delicious with unique entrees. Our server was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
God enough but nothing special. I little too expensive for what you got.
The food was all consistently good but overall I think the service steals the show. Every person we encountered was capable, attentive and seemed to like their job. There were no long lags between courses, re-orders or drink refills. Top notch! We started with the yucca fries and they are not to be missed -- especially if you are gluten free like us. They serve a coin style margarita that might be the best, all the ratios and proportions are spot on. Only the veggie taco didn't wow, but we the cochinita pibil, alambre poblano and the grilled short rib were all good.
This place looks nice, has great service, reasonably priced, overall enjoyable atmosphere. But the food was just so unbelievably bland. The guacamole didn't even have salt. I ordered tacos with rice and beans and it LOOKED good it just tasted like absolutely nothing. The person I was with ordered a chicken burrito. It was filled with what looked/tasted like plain boiled chicken. Overall really disappointing.
What really got me was that when I asked for hot sauce the waiter informed me that 1) they did not have hot sauce (what Mexican restaurant doesn't have hot sauce on the table?) and 2) he could give me salsa instead of hot sauce, but I would be charged extra. So apparently this place has an upcharge if you decide you actually want your food taste like something.
Tuesday, kids eat free. Not great for two adults!
Great food - especially the corn!
Enjoyed sitting on the patio.
Will return for more
Great restaurant and the kind of restaurant this area needs. Really good quality innovative taqueria plus a good value. Vibe was nice, staff was really friendly, drinks were great too. Will definitely be going here a lot.
Service was extremely slow, from drinks to food. Bar service took over 15 minutes to get margaritas (which were delicious)! Back of house forgot our guacamole appetizer order and one entire entree!
There were empty tables and they were busy, but there is no excuse for this dreadful level of service. I've been to the Mojo in Lyons and had a terrific experience, so I know they know how to get it right.
Great concept and location for north Boulder, they had better fix it fast! Boulder has to many dining option to put up with this!
Yeah, that was a rough night for us. We were pushing to re-open at 5pm after fixing some electrical issues in the space, and we would weren't 100% prepared. Hopefully we won't have another night like that, and things have returned to running much more smoothly since that night. Please try us again. Thanks!
Good tacos. Good, strong margaritas. The service was terrible, however - it took more 30 minutes from when we ordered to get some chips and guacamole, and the waiter seemed like he could care less.
Hey David, As noted in another comment below, July 2 was a difficult night for us as we tried to reopen after having to close for a couple of days due to issues in the building, and in retrospect we should have stayed closed for that night to get caught up. Apologies for the slow service, that is not our normal and we typically pride ourselves on great service.
Good food and nice service. They corrected something we weren’t pleased with and came back to check on it.
We had a wonderful time on the patio for an amazing Happy Hour!
