Mojitos Bar & Grill
What a fantastic little place hidden in a strip mall between 2 grocery stores. We have traveled often to Puerto Rico and also to Belize and Mexico and this was a fabulous mixture of those cultures. We shared the black bean soup to start. We figured it might be a little bland - it was not..it was very tasty. My wife ordered the Cosa Mas Rica - pulled pork. It was very good and very reminiscent of local restaurants in PR that we enjoy. She also had a coconut mojito - it was amazing! A lot of places don’t serve them and those that do often don’t make them very well - this was the exception! It was amazing! I had the uy uy uy - basically a giant shrimp cocktail but instead of cocktail sauce it was in a sauce that was very akin to a salsa/guacamole mixture. It was incredible - shrimp cocktail will never be the same. The owner/manager stopped by and checked on us which was a very nice touch. We will absolutely be back!!
Authentic fusion of Mexican and Cuban. Strip mall location hides a gem. 13 mos old restaurant so locals are discovering. Fish excellent. The humble cod was large moist and flavorful. Called Tequila Fish. I had traditional pork shoulder Viejo Rojas with yucca. Appetizers were plantains and Cuban pork skin dish. Both flavorful and well prepared. Myrtle Beach has several cartoonish Mexican restaurants with bright colors large fish statues for the tourists. Mojitos is an honest culinary experience. Price is modest with drink specials.
Wonderful atmosphere but the food was underwhelming. Chicken was dry.
The food was very good, but not enough for your money. Everything was in small portion.
The ambiance was nice. Great music. Food selection was good but on the bland side.
