   My sister and I went to celebrate her graduation and had THE most enjoyable time because the service and the food were as top tier as it gets. Each plate came out with edible flowers and went back to the kitchen licked and empty (not really). We ate every drop. Delicious and we WILL DEFINITELY be back.

   We had a good experience. Food and service are really good and we enjoyed our time. However, it’s the little details that decreases overall value: we had a broken chair in our table, the ambiance seems old and does not match the restaurant concept and price.

   They served me gluten free bread, and they make their gluten free pasta from scratch. It was delicious and I felt confident in eating there as someone with celiac.

   This was the best dining experience out since I was diagnosed with Celiac's. The staff members were very knowledgeable and accommodating to both gluten and nut-based allergies. The gluten free food was indistinguishable in quality from non-gf - the gluten free house-made pasta was so tender and the texture was perfect (not tough or gritty one often gets when having to eat gluten free). They even have fresh-baked gluten free bread! The gluten free desserts, and the wine selection was also great as well. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough to fellow Celiac's and their friends - if you want a fantastic meal you can feel safe and confident enjoying, this is absolutely the place to go!

   Modena continues to be one of my favorite restaurants. My dinner companion, a former work colleague of 25 years. And dear friend, arrived a few minutes before I did and said that everyone came to the table to greet her (I think they were curious because normally I bring my daughter to dinner there). As usual the food and service was fantastic. I brought two bottles of wine with me and they quickly decanted both while we had a discussion about them. There is a reason that I always choose Modena when I venture back into D.C. and want to take anyone somewhere special.

   The food was delicious! I wish i had more on my plate but i understand quality over quantity. Service was superb and the staff were so funny and kind. Would definitely go here again.

    Loved our experience here. Everyone loved their food. The waitress had a great sense of humor and really elevated the experience. The service in general was superb. My fried artichokes were delicious and went great with the salad they were served with. The scallops were also very good and went great with the mushrooms on the plate. I would definitely repeat.

    Very nice wine list and helpful sommelier. Menu sufficiently short but also diverse to cater for all tastes (within mediterranean cuisine). Very good food I would mark it at least at 8 out of 10

    Delicious, creative food, very attentive service, but the we could hardly hear each other. It felt incongruous as the food was so elegant but the noise commensurate with a packed stadium. I would recommend friends to go very early or very late.

    Our server, Petra, was exceptional. The ambiance, for our table of three was very good, but the restaurant did get very loud past six-thirty. I ordered the duck breast and I found it to be overdone. I was actually surprised when I wasn’t asked how I would like it cooked, and I received it medium instead of rare or medium rare. Those were the only blemishes on an otherwise stellar evening. My primo course (fried artichokes) and pasta course (lamb ragu) were exquisite, and the panna cota dessert course was to die for!

    We had a very nice experience . Excellent service and the Burrata beet salad was deliciousas were tge ricoota raviolas. The only disappointmentwas in the secondi course where the duck entree was on the tough side. However the restaurant was quick to give us complimentary coffees and desserts. Next visiti would order the ravioli as a main course they were divine.

    We had a group of 6 and one of us was a sommelier and our experience with Ramon the somm and Petra our server was incredible. We ate family style and they curated our wine selection and we closed the place down. Will come back everytime we are in town

    Excellent Italian-inspired food in a nice environment. We liked the food, but some of the dishes were really small, limiting the overall value. Service is great, but it was disappointing to see that our reserved table was not ready at the time we booked. We had to stand outside for 15 minutes to wait for the table.

    We dined directly at the bar counter and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, highlighted by little windows into the very busy kitchen. Drinks, wine and food were all exceptional. Having spent a lot of time in Italy, I felt right at home with the cooking of Chef Melli…and we were able to view how actively he is engaged in the preparation of everything, along with his team. Overall, a very positive experience!!

    Great if your looking for nice gluten free Italian. Our server was not attentive and really ruined the experience for us. We wanted to order wine, but ended up not doing so, because he never came back to take the wine order. We waited a long time between courses because he didn't come to take the order and then the desert order.

    Every time I have a meal at Modena it has been a feast to the palate, however this time was superb. The hamachi was a bite of the ocean melting in your mouth, the carpaccio with the savory wine sorbet a delicacy and the Ravioli with the twist of the Mexican truffle is unique, it shows the great creativity of the Chef! To enhance the experience, an excellent recomendatión of wine and the familiar and warm smile of Victor provided my party and me a delightful evening.

    The food was good, especially the gnocchi. The personnel was very friendly. But the drinks were too heavy-handed, my initial requests of cocktail and dessert were not available, and the place was too noisy.

    Cannot say enough about our experience at Modena!! Victor, our server, was outstanding- he explained the details of the dishes and was extremely friendly and professional. The quality of food was spectacular! Every dish we had melted in our mouths, Especially the ravioli! Dessert was phenomenal, tiramisu had the perfect flavorings. Highly recommend to anyone looking for high-quality Italian food. Will definitely return to Modena!

    Wow... what an experience! From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left, everything was about perfect. The wine, the food (we all had different pasta dishes, they were all superb), the lemon and blueberry dessert with coffees were all about perfect. Serving portions were also just right. A perfect Italian finish to a jam packed day!
