Join us for a modern Omakase experience at our exclusive 8-seat counter. Our seasonal offerings highlight Japanese dry-aged fish, wagyu beef, and seasonal produce from local farms. A deposit of $50 is required to secure your reservation for the MODAN Omakase experience, which commences at $150 per person (excluding beverages, service fee, and sales tax). The deposit will be charged for cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions so we can ensure the best experience for you. We kindly ask that you arrive on time for your reservation, as all guests will begin and end their experience together. There is a 10-minute grace period before the Omakase begins.

The omakase felt a bit overpowering overall, made my tongue feel slightly numb and overwhelmed. However, a couple of the nigiri were excellent. It would have been a much better experience if the progression of flavors had been more balanced and thoughtful.

Not worth it. SHOTO in DC is way better. Service was sparse and we felt a little talked down to. The tacos are WAY overpriced for what you get. They tried to rush us our entire meal. Delivered a wrong item, left it on our table for 10 minutes, and then just came over and said “that’s not for you” and took it away. Needless to say, we will not be coming back.

We absolutely loved the omakase experience. We were celebrating my dad's 80th birthday and he LOVED it; he said he had never had such a special meal. From the champagne we were greeted with, to the gold leaf on the first piece of fish, to the aged wagyu with truffles, it was all fantastic. Also, the staff noticed that my dad is a Japanese national and asked me to write out his name in kanji, which the pastry chef then re-created in chocolate to write a personalized happy birthday message in Japanese that came out with the final course. That was an incredibly special touch and we were so moved.

The food is very good however, both times I’ve been here the waiters have seemed to feel the need to try to upsell things on the menu. There’s one thing if you ask a waiter for some guidance, but the fact that waiters feel the need to tell you what they think you should order. I find really obnoxious enough to deter me from going back again. My advice to management would be to train your waiters to only offer advice on ordering if a customer asked for it. And not be so pushy about what they think the customer should order.

Exceptional food, fun vibe, waiter was great, and love the location. Only feedback was check in with hostesses could’ve been a lot better. They don’t acknowledge you unless you speak to them & are generally dismissive.

Our first experience at Modan was OUTSTANDING! The food presentation and taste was far better than similar places in the area. We never had to ask for more water or anything for the table because the staff was very observant and not bothersome. The overall noise level was very suitable, allowing for a peaceful dinner conversation.
