One of my favorite Peruvian restaurant in town. Ceviche is to die for. Drinks are great!! It’s the place to go for Peruvian food!!
The food was amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious - the platanos, the chicken chicharrones, the seafood bouillabaisse and the pork belly fried rice - I recommend it all! Also enjoyed the sangria. Can't wait to go again!
The food and drinks was great!!
Love the food & great ambiance for outdoor dining
Great date spot
The food was great but the overall price did not justify the food. The service was really bad and had to wait over 15 mins just to have our order taken and then same to pay the check. I specifically asked to have us seated near a heater when I made the reservation, and no arrangements of the sort were made even after we reminded the restaurant of our needs(there were other tables available within 10 minutes of us sitting down)
Declined all reservations on the day of even though reservations were made a week ago on open table. Last minute change to "first come first serve" no umbrellas during the rainy evening, and the tables plus everyone else were less than 6 feet apart. It was really shoulder to shoulder. Drove 2 hours for nothing, really disappointed on how they managed that night.
Got seated on a wet table and chair while it was drizzling outside. No cover offered. A very wet experience.
Great Food and Drinks! Staff was Amazing! We are looking forward to our next visit.
We came here with low expectations, knowing that having just reopened for outdoor dining poses a lot of challenges for the restaurant. Nevertheless, we left with several bad tastes in our mouth and the feeling of having been completely ripped off.
We were hugely let down by both the poor quality of the food and extremely high price. We would have been more than happy to pay what they charged us, had the food been even close to worth the bill.
The "complimentary" chips they served us were oily and soggy. The drinks were almost entirely juice. Their margarita tasted like cleaning fluid. The shrimp I had for appetizer tasted and stunk like chemicals. We also had a Cebiche, which was actually pretty good.
Our main courses were reminiscent of slop you'd avoid at the grocery store's hotbar, accompanied by dry and bland rice. I was lucky enough to have picked one that actually had a leaf or two of fresh ingredients, a poorly executed and predictable afterthought of overly vinegared greens, although my dining partner was not so lucky as her plate consisted only of bland rice and extremely bland chicken that looked and tasted like it belonged in a "1954 Jello Mold & Casserole Edition" of "Barely Housekeeping". My short rib dish was drenched entirely in a sauce that added zero new flavors to the dish and was indistinguishable in flavor from the meat itself. The beef itself was overcooked and chewy. The presentation was what I imagine meals in white-collar prison look like.
The food quality was objectionable, but only because of the price. We ate most of what we were served, but it tasted like a $15-30 per person meal.
Service was average to good, but they then slapped our party of two with a 20% non-optional gratuity already added into the bill. We would have tipped 20% anyways, but it added to the mounting evidence that they knew they were ripping people off. Save your appetite, and your wallet, for a restaurant other than Mochica.
Price Fix Menu was not expected and choices were few and very expensive. Three people with couple drinks each = $450 Food always great. Service always good.
My mom and I had a great evening here. The food was good but I’ve been told that I’m easy to satisfy. Nevertheless, the ceviche and the lomo saltado were great. However, I would have appreciated a bigger rice portion in the lomo saltado.
Mochica is amazing! I have ordered from here a few times and always loved it, but being there was such a good time. We were seated immediately. The music was great, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food was DELICIOUS. And the owner was so fun and joyous! Definitely going back.
This is one of the best restaurants in SF and Daniel and his team made us feel at home!
I ate seco de carne , that was amazing, also Cholo power is a delicious drink .
First time diners at Mochica and will definitely return! Great spot for outdoor dining on Potrero Hill: interesting and innovative (tasty) food, very good and friendly customer service, innovative drinks too.
Thanks for adapting to these challenging times during the pandemic.
Small portions of mostly tasty food. Disjointed service.
AMAZING FOOD!!!! WOW!! ALSO EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE BY OUR WAITER JUAN! OUR GROUP LOVED IT! ITS OUR NEW TOP SPOT!
Mochica is a great spot for brunch. The food is fresh, varied, and well-executed. The service is great as well. The drink options at brunch are a stand-out with bottomless mimosas, margaritas, and sangria all available.
Great way to be introduced to S. American cuisine!!
Lovely outdoor space.. great ambience for date night! Extremely friendly staff and service. Food was stellar!
Everything was great, just my anticuchos arrived cold to the table
Good Peruvian food. Excellent Service and very accommodating.
I am a repeat customer because the food is simply amazing. The location and service are also excellent. The staff is incredibly friendly and very attentive. I will continue to book here because in the city this is a gem.
Awesome lunch spot with my wife.
Mochica is a tried and true place we go to in the neighborhood often. Too often. It’s the picso sour’s fault! Also, everything is delicious.
It was cold. Wish they told us they had blankets at the start
Food was delicious. They were missing 2 key dishes - rotisserie chicken (limited availability on the menu) and churros. The food we ate was diciois
The service and the food here was outstanding. We talked to the owner who was so sweet and overall it was just a great experience. I’ll be back soon!
They never disappoint. We have enjoyed everything there. We still need to explore their bar. Perhaps next time. We’ve always simply had the Sangria.
Very small plates and the food is not spectacular for what to pay. Expensive.
The beat Peruvian restaurant I ever had! Also very attentive staff polite and classy omg! That was wonderful!
Food is authentic Peruvian - fabulous ceviche and Peruvian cocktails
Food and drinks were excellent, mostly maracuya pisco sour! The food took longer than expected but the wait was worth it.
Was seated quite a while after arriving
Gloria is fantastic! she was efficient, warm, knew her stuff and gave us perfect timing and touch. We will definitely go back!!
The food was delicious, as it always is. The tuna, octopus, and flan were outstanding. Cocktails were perfect. Our servers were friendly, fun, and very attentive. They were also very good at anticipating what we may need before we even thought about asking. The only small down side was that the sidewalk got very crowded around us.
Came for my birthday lunch with my partner, chose this place because the reviews on yelp were good regarding the food, service, and outdoor dining. I love Peruvian food, and this spot was it! We definitely want to come back again with our family once the pandemic is over. This was our 2nd time dining out since March, and we love how everything fell into place. It was Sunday mid-afternoon, we found easy parking, was not too crowded, the weather was good, music was uplifting, food again AMAZING. Our server gave us 2 shots of their Pisco, super smooth & warmer than tequila. We got there during happy hour, and they weren’t serving Lomo Saltado, however the server asked the chef & they said it was ok. My partner got the rotisserie chicken, with a coke. I got the Corazón Perucho which had chicha morada in it (yum). I usually do not like sweet drinks but this one had a nice sweet/tart balance. Once we finished we got an order of alfajores which were slightly cool & made them taste so much better! I highly recommend coming here in general now, and if you’re not confident in the current outdoor seating, that’s ok this place will make you feel safe doing so. And if you want to use the restroom, you just need to wear your mask when you go inside. The server was very nice & conversational, as well as the host who checked us in. Happy my partner & I got to experience this place, he’s never had Peruvian food before & fell in love with it!
The service was really rough. I give much room to restaurants pivoting to outside servicse, but waiting 40 mins for server to come by was tough.
Love Mochica. Camarones crocantes are fantastic, as is the Pulpo. Great Pisco sours, and the pork belly fried rice and Aji chicken are good too.
