Mochica is a great spot for brunch. The food is fresh, varied, and well-executed. The service is great as well. The drink options at brunch are a stand-out with bottomless mimosas, margaritas, and sangria all available.
Great way to be introduced to S. American cuisine!!
Lovely outdoor space.. great ambience for date night! Extremely friendly staff and service. Food was stellar!
Everything was great, just my anticuchos arrived cold to the table
Good Peruvian food. Excellent Service and very accommodating.
I am a repeat customer because the food is simply amazing. The location and service are also excellent. The staff is incredibly friendly and very attentive. I will continue to book here because in the city this is a gem.
Awesome lunch spot with my wife.
Mochica is a tried and true place we go to in the neighborhood often. Too often. It’s the picso sour’s fault! Also, everything is delicious.
It was cold. Wish they told us they had blankets at the start
Food was delicious. They were missing 2 key dishes - rotisserie chicken (limited availability on the menu) and churros. The food we ate was diciois
The service and the food here was outstanding. We talked to the owner who was so sweet and overall it was just a great experience. I’ll be back soon!
They never disappoint. We have enjoyed everything there. We still need to explore their bar. Perhaps next time. We’ve always simply had the Sangria.
Very small plates and the food is not spectacular for what to pay. Expensive.
The beat Peruvian restaurant I ever had! Also very attentive staff polite and classy omg! That was wonderful!
Food is authentic Peruvian - fabulous ceviche and Peruvian cocktails
Food and drinks were excellent, mostly maracuya pisco sour! The food took longer than expected but the wait was worth it.
Was seated quite a while after arriving
Gloria is fantastic! she was efficient, warm, knew her stuff and gave us perfect timing and touch. We will definitely go back!!
The food was delicious, as it always is. The tuna, octopus, and flan were outstanding. Cocktails were perfect. Our servers were friendly, fun, and very attentive. They were also very good at anticipating what we may need before we even thought about asking. The only small down side was that the sidewalk got very crowded around us.
Came for my birthday lunch with my partner, chose this place because the reviews on yelp were good regarding the food, service, and outdoor dining. I love Peruvian food, and this spot was it! We definitely want to come back again with our family once the pandemic is over. This was our 2nd time dining out since March, and we love how everything fell into place. It was Sunday mid-afternoon, we found easy parking, was not too crowded, the weather was good, music was uplifting, food again AMAZING. Our server gave us 2 shots of their Pisco, super smooth & warmer than tequila. We got there during happy hour, and they weren’t serving Lomo Saltado, however the server asked the chef & they said it was ok. My partner got the rotisserie chicken, with a coke. I got the Corazón Perucho which had chicha morada in it (yum). I usually do not like sweet drinks but this one had a nice sweet/tart balance. Once we finished we got an order of alfajores which were slightly cool & made them taste so much better! I highly recommend coming here in general now, and if you’re not confident in the current outdoor seating, that’s ok this place will make you feel safe doing so. And if you want to use the restroom, you just need to wear your mask when you go inside. The server was very nice & conversational, as well as the host who checked us in. Happy my partner & I got to experience this place, he’s never had Peruvian food before & fell in love with it!
The service was really rough. I give much room to restaurants pivoting to outside servicse, but waiting 40 mins for server to come by was tough.
Love Mochica. Camarones crocantes are fantastic, as is the Pulpo. Great Pisco sours, and the pork belly fried rice and Aji chicken are good too.
The best dining experience we've had during shelter in place!
Great spot for everything !
Love the peruvian food here. Servers were very nice and did a great job.
Staff were great when at the table but had to flag down a few times for refills and asks. Reflects Covid times.
Food portions small and food flavor was so so (two tiny tacos as a entree), and they forgot our additions in our meals (requiring us to ask to take it off the bill). Had to ask a few times for refills for bottomless mimosas.
All up, understand it is Covid and it is tough. The staff were not enough for the tables, glad I tried it but wouldn’t return.
no server was serving our table.
Great food. Nice outdoor seating and very friendly staff.
Great place and Peruvian food on point. The ceviche was delicious - they did not have tuna so that was disappointing. But everything in the menu was very good. Great flavors and textures!
Didn't even get a chance to dine. Had made reservations. The host was extremely rude and told us that he doesn't know how long the wait for our table is and can't help. Went next door to Papito - far more pleasant experience with just a walk-in
Good brunch spot. Good fish tacos
Service was slow, prices have been raised significantly, just not worth it.
Shocked by how good this spot was.
Definitely coming back
The food is good. Service was friendly but not attentive. We were four for dinner. One member of our group got his plate about twenty minutes after other three diners. There was an apology from our server but no offer to comp the dish or give us a dessert on the house. Covid complicates service at this time but offering diners something for an inconvenience is still a good thing.
I arrived at my reserved time, and the restaurant was closed.
I was really looking forward to this experience, but unfortunately was let down significantly for the following reasons:
- We (3 people) made a reservation for 7:30 a week in advance yet were seated at the back end of the patio without any ambiance, light, and a ‘view’ of of the bus stop. This really sucked as the front of the place looked so fun with music and a great COVID set up! With a reservation I absolutely expected a better seat
- It took 30 (!) minutes for us to even get a menu from our server. After that we finally got a drink order in and it took another 20 minutes to get that! We only ordered a coke and a pisco sour. Absolutely wild wait
- See above, but the servers obviously forgot that we were there multiple times. One of our other drink orders was completely forgotten in the time we were there.
- While ordering 3/4 items were either sold out or unavailable. Additionally the prices and options were quite different from the menu website. One coke cost $7, which seemed a bit outlandish.
As a Potrero local I’m always trying to support local business, but I was entirely let down. By the end of it we put our name in next door at Papito and we’re seated with drinks before the team at mochica thought to come by again. Highly recommend just going to Papito instead!
This was an absolute 5 star location. Everything we ordered was flavorful and simply amazing. Our server was attentive. I highly recommend this place and will be a repeat customer.
Great brunch spot. Service is very good. Interesting food. Great ambiance.
Excellent social distancing.
Definitely excellent food and service. Ceviche Mixto is some of the best I've had. I also had the braised short ribss melted in my mouth.
Amazing food and amazing service!!
One comment if I may: it was very hot on Friday and we were sitting at the corner where there was no shade and it was hot! 🥵 So a friendly suggestion to please put an umbrella at every table if possible. Otherwise, everything else is excellent! I will certainly be back. 👍🏽👍🏽
