M.J. O'Connors Waterfront Ratings and Reviews
I chose this restaurant out of a variety of options in Boston because the menu was able to accommodate a vegetarian, a meat eater, a child and someone on a diet. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was awesome. Our server wasn't super friendly, but honestly we didn't need that from him. He was attentive and we didn't lack for anything at our table. This is a great place to meet friends for a fun meal. In our case we met friends we hadn't seen in twenty years and the atmosphere was conducive to conversation. Everyone felt comfortable. For example, we were sitting outside and noticed a chill and without even asking the staff turned on the overhead outdoor heaters for us. It was a lovely evening and dinner out with friends at MJ Oconnors.
I loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly and energetic and the food was enjoyed by all of us! I can't wait to go back again to try something else out on their menu. There is a great comedy club next door, so you can make a nice night of dining and entertainment without having to move your car. And they also also validate parking for a discount.
Two families celebrating together on the 2 Dad's birthdays. Called ahead to let them know and we were "surprised" with 2 super decadent slices of chocolate cake/ice cream with candles (and spoons for everyone)! As a group we ordered cocktails, beer, appetizers, salads/soups, & pizza as well as main entrees ... and the food disappeared instantly! Highly recommend the calamari and truffle steak flat bread pizza as appetizers and the salmon was terrific and very fresh! Quick and friendly service was very much appreciated.
Good location. The Guiness Onion soup was cold, flavor was blah and the crouton was too small. I ordered a burger it was overdone (I ordered medium rare and it was medium well) and didn't have much flavor. The reviews online had been great and I was expecting more.
Excellent service and fantastic cocktails. I had a tasty Guinness rootbeer cocktail and the shrimp and grits were cooked perfectly. The calamari appetizer was a little dry, but the great service made up for it. The ambience was not as cozy as you would expect from an Irish bar, but you cannot beat the location and it was perfect for food and drinks before a show at Laugh, literally next door.
1st night in Boston .. was nice seated right away due to reservation that we had an open table… I will say the food was limited in the menu little difficult for son to find something that he enjoyed ...experience was nice ...price was great I would recommend it is attached to hotel so there were a lot of adults and fancy look like wedding entire
It was a real pleasure eating at a restaurant in the Seaport area that was not crowded and had good food and service. I dined with 5 friends before the Jack O Lantern display at Commonwealth Hall and we were very pleased with our choice....only restaurant that could accommodate us that busy Saturday before Halloween night. It is off the beaten path but worth the extra walk.
Worst service I've had in a very long time. The wait time for the waitress to come and take our food order was extremely long. They gave us the wrong order twice and charged us for a meal that didn't even make it to our table. You would think that the waitress would excuse herself but all she said was "oh", luckily I wasn't the only customer that had a terrible experience at this restaurant today, the family next to our table had similar issues. The first and last time I'll be eating here.
This restaurant is in the Marriott next to the Boston convention center. We were there for a graduation, and had down time between a morning ceremony and afternoon ceremony. I think they got hit with a blast of patrons all at once. Service was friendly enough, but a bit slow. Food was good, not memorable.it certainly was convenience to the convention center. I don't think I would go out of my way to eat there though.
