Mizuna resonates with quiet conversation. The linen-draped tables and soft yellow dining room perfectly highlight the cuisine, also simple, elegant, and understated. Chef/owner Frank Bonanno has created a special spot for food lovers here. At Mizuna, cooks are given free creative reign over a menu that changes monthly to emphasize pure, seasonal ingredients with clean flavors that make even the most exotic fare seem familiar. Ultimately, this is an American-style restaurant heavy on French technique, influence, and philosophy with flawless service and an eclectic assortment of international wines.

Mizuna Ratings and Reviews
One of the best gourmet restaurants in Denver, you will not be disappointed. The only issue is narrowing down your selection as there are so many excellent choices. The lobster mac & cheese is a must, the octopus apptz is very tender, the beef Wellington is cooked to perfection and the desserts are amazingly well balanced and delicious.
We selected this restaurant because we heard the food was great and so was the service. We really enjoyed dinning at Mizuna. We made reservations and when we got there, out cozy table was waiting for us. The service was great and so was the food. The dishes were a bit small but definitely tasty.
We celebrated a birthday at Mizuna last night. As always the food and service was exceptional! Our waiter overheard my wife say that she had hoped to have an entree that she saw on the online menu. Knowing that the item had been recently taken off the menu, our waiter arranged with the chef to have it available. This was done Before we talked about the menu! How many restaurants anticipate and accommodate your wishes with such panache! A great evening. We always enjoy Mizuna for the creative dishes, excellent wine list and over the top service
Everything was phenomenal. Service was perfect. Food was on point. The staff go the extra mile to make little moments that make the overall experience incredible. Couldn't have been happier with the experience. Best meal and evening I had in a long time. Thank you.
If I could describe Mizuna in one word it would be exceptional. The attention paid by the front house and kitchen staff to every detail made this a memorable experience. We have dined at many of Denver’s fine dining establishments over the years and a Frank Bonnano has outdone himself with his flagship establishment. My wife chose the Beef Wellington and I had best best pheasant I have ever tasted. And definitely try the lobster Mac and cheese for an appetizer. Well done, folks, well done!
Wonderful service and food from start to finish. Wine list covers plenty of ground and very helpful and knowledgeable servers made meal a great experience. The baked clams over a chowder sauce was outstanding as was the rack of boar. Beef tenderloin was great as well.
Mizuna was my wife and I's first experience with French Cuisine and we were absolutely blown away. We ordered the Chefs tasting menu and It was truthfully the best food I can remember eating. Wine was paired well with food, service was professional yet cordial, with the concepts behind each course and drink being described in detail. Highly recommend.
Went for our anniversary and had the 6 course tasting menu. Everything was delicious! We had so many tasty things: herbed gnocchi, yakama sturgeon, beef wellington and an apple tarte. Everything is prepared beautifully. The setting is very intimate and it's almost like you are in someone's home and the chefs are cooking just for you. In addition to the courses, we were served an amuse bouche, a palate cleanser, a little shot of creamy eggnog type drink and then after dessert they gave us a box of the yummiest little donuts for the next day. The little surprises throughout the meal made our anniversary dinner extra special. The staff is super attentive and friendly. They anticipated our every need and were so warm and welcoming. Perfect place for a date (with someone you really like) or a special occasion.
I took my wife here for her birthday and we had an amazing experience! Our server greeted us with complimentary glasses of champagne for my wife's birthday, and the experience only got better from there. The food was amazing and we savored every bite. We came specifically for the beef wellington and it did not disappoint! The service was impeccable as well. The wait staff was very attentive but at the same time we never felt like they were hovering over us. I would highly recommend Mizuna for a romantic date night or birthday you'll never forget!
I cannot say enough good things about Mizuna! My girlfriend and I brought her little brother here for our first night in Denver from Oregon. The ambiance was great. Very cozy inside but not too loud which was great. The drinks were PHENOMENAL. Food is a little pricey even for fine dining, but it was worth the experience. Our server was great, everything came out in a timely manner, and overall it was our favorite dinner we had in all of Denver for the entire week!
Mizuna has been and still is the best restaurant in Denver since 2001. Impeccable plates come from the kitchen. A wonderful array of wines come from the cellar with prices from $40 to $400; over 2 dozen bottles in the $40 to $70 range! A fantastic selection of French wines. And a cadre of friendly, warm, professional servers that are the envy of every restaurateur in Denver. Our favorite date night restaurant!
One of the best meals my wife and I ever had; we did the Chef's choice/menu which was a 6-course meal with a fixed price ($200)...and we were surprised with each dish. Rocco was our waiter and he was great as well as the entire staff. Attentive, not stuffy...can't wait to give Mizuna another try.
Can’t express how much we enjoyed our first meal at Mizuna. We savored the cocktails, the wine (selected from an impresive list) and each bite of every course. The beef Wellington was to die for and the desserts are beyond words. The whole experience was sublime. Look forward to returning.
Party of 4 close friends. We did the tasting menu. Incredible. We are all still talking about it. Might have been the best all around meal I’ve ever had and I am picky. Service great. Wines explained well. Cocktails made properly. Portions appropriate. Just perfect.
The food is amazing at this place. if you are looking for an alternative to the standard upscale surf & turf run of the mill American restaurants - this is the place to go to. Really good wine list, food is perfect and service was 5 star all the way through.
Also has a fun bar and an amazing list of old school cocktails with knowledgeable bar staff.
Not the fanciest location but the food and experience is great!
