Mizuna never disappoints. The food is always excellent; a treat.
Phenomenal! One of our new favorite dining experiences in Denver!
Service could have been a lot better. I had the scallops and they were very bland. My husband and I also had to wait 10 min for our cocktails and our main course came before the drinks. Not good.
We did the wine-tasting meal & loved every course! Service was impeccable.
Food was absolutely fabulous. My husband and I each had the baked little neck clam appetizer, truffle soup, and the veal main course. As always, everything was excellent!
Nice romantic setting and lovely bar. Excellent service. Perfect restaurant for a special evening.
The house rules for getting the 6-course chef's tasting menu were everyone at the table ordered it and everything was a surprise. After looking over the mouthwatering menu, my date and I decided to give that a try... and we were supremely happy we did. Every coursewas a unique blend of flavors that were truely spectacular and each was served with a description of what we were eating and the preparation. The service and ambiance were as outstanding as the food. We've tried many wonderful restaurants and Mizuna instantly became our favorite.
Lovely date night for belated Valentine’s dinner. Our server was well acquainted with the wine selection. We shared the lobster Mac and cheese and each got Beef Wellington which was perfectly done. Lately even well established and highly rated restaurant have been overly salty for our tastebuds, but our night was a pleasant exception. We can’t wait to come back and bring out of town guests.
Mizuna is my request for any special occasion and, as always, it did not disappoint! My husband and I each ordered a salad. I ordered the beet lasagna which was delicious and he ordered the Gem salad. While both were excellent, of the two, I would recommend the Gem. It was absolutely wonderful! Although I booked on Open Table I neglected to mention my husbands aversion to onions. When our waiter Tim asked about allergies or preferences my husband told him he required no onions. It turned out the lobster fried rice which came with his fish, had yellow onions in it. He had decided to substitute seasonal vegetables instead. A few minutes later Tim returned and said that the chef had offered to prepare special lobster rice for his dinner.
I sampled a couple of wines and although the Riesling recommended tasted very sweet to me, I decided to go with the suggestion. It was perfect with my delicious curry & scallops! Both entrees were outstanding. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
We shared the Baked Alaska -the flaming table/ side preparation was as impressive as it was delicious!
I love this restaurant and hope to return soon!
My boyfriend and I went to Mizuna for an early Valentine's Day celebration and it was well worth it! We requested to be seated in the wine room, which was cozy. We got the chef's 6-course tasting menu and everything was delicious! I would highly recommend the tasting menu if you're an adventurous eater and can't decide what to get because everything on the menu sounds amazing. Mizuna puts a delicious twist on classic French techniques and flavors. The staff is very friendly and extremely attentive, but not overbearing. This tiny restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic night out or a special occasion, but make sure you make reservations!
We went here for an early Valentine's Day dinner, and it was truly one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. We did the chef's tasting menu, and everything was perfect from the first course to the last. The service was also top notch, and we have nothing but great things to say about Mizuna. We look forward to going back again soon!
Great food and service on our anniversary. Will return.
Food was fine and service was exceptional; however, they say us in the small table next to a large group in a SEPARATE room rather than the main dinning room. The noise level was overwhelming and it really negatively impacted our dining experience.
I hadn't been to Mizuna in 5 or 6 years. That was my mistake. There are so many new and great restaurants in town that sometimes you take for granted the truly great ones that have been around for a long time. This place is truly extraordinary. Two courses into the tasting menu I had been blown away by three flavors that I had never experienced in my life. This happened three more times before this perfect meal was done. Foie gras sorbet? Are you kidding me?
To die for. Course after course brought perfection from the kitchen. The service was as good as it gets. Friendly, concerned, cheerful, incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and the pacing of the meal was perfect. Sometimes you have to come back from a long absence to realize that Mizuna is, quite simply, the best restaurant in Denver. I'll be back again soon.
Very small portions and the food was extremely expensive. Personally, not for me. Great atmosphere and our server was incredibly knowledgeable.
It lived up to its reputation!! Being of dual US/French nationality, I doubted for the last of couple of years that a restaurant by the name of Mizuna could pull off French cuisine. We finally tried it and were delighted by its innovative application of French-style cooking. Warning: The prices are not for the faint of heart, but neither are they the highest in Denver. The intimate "petit resto" setting, the very professional yet friendly service, and the quality/preparation/ presentation of the dishes are worth every bit of the prices. The delicious Tarte Flambée appetizer (Alsatian/German Flammkuchen) is a thin bread crust, topped with lardon, caramelized onions, crème fraiche, a great cheddar (!?!?), and a smattering of baby arugula leaves...a nice mixture of sweetness and saltiness. It's large enough to be split or eaten by one person with a good appetite.
They have an interesting way of serving their meats in two different styles on most of their plats, the notable exception being the Beef Wellington (very tender filet wrapped in crust). The veal had roasted veal loin slices and pulled shoulder layered with parsnips. Portions are reasonable, but you may want to order your meats one notch of doneness above what you normally would. The kitchen tends to lean toward rareness, which is much better than the other direction.
Our excellent Warm Chocolate Cake dessert was similar to a French fondant or moelleux...nice and small with intense chocolate flavor. Yummy!!
The impressive wine list is very French (but not exclusively so) and rather expensive.
So, go splurge for a special occasion. It's a wonderful French cuisine experience.
Dont' forget to use the complimentary valet parking. It's so convenient.
First time in Denver and found this little gem - highly recommend. The service was outstanding very professional. The food exceptional! I will be back next time I am in Denver.
Delicious. My friend and I split the lobster mac n cheese which was wonderful (they should consider putting a bit more lobster in the dish) and we both had the Beef Wellington which was perfectly cooked to our MR requests. For dessert, we split the rhubarb offering—incredible flavors!
I love this place. Brilliant food, excellent service. Do the tasting menu. I always do.
One of the best gourmet restaurants in Denver, you will not be disappointed. The only issue is narrowing down your selection as there are so many excellent choices. The lobster mac & cheese is a must, the octopus apptz is very tender, the beef Wellington is cooked to perfection and the desserts are amazingly well balanced and delicious.
We selected this restaurant because we heard the food was great and so was the service. We really enjoyed dinning at Mizuna. We made reservations and when we got there, out cozy table was waiting for us. The service was great and so was the food. The dishes were a bit small but definitely tasty.
We celebrated a birthday at Mizuna last night. As always the food and service was exceptional! Our waiter overheard my wife say that she had hoped to have an entree that she saw on the online menu. Knowing that the item had been recently taken off the menu, our waiter arranged with the chef to have it available. This was done Before we talked about the menu! How many restaurants anticipate and accommodate your wishes with such panache! A great evening. We always enjoy Mizuna for the creative dishes, excellent wine list and over the top service
Everything was phenomenal. Service was perfect. Food was on point. The staff go the extra mile to make little moments that make the overall experience incredible. Couldn't have been happier with the experience. Best meal and evening I had in a long time. Thank you.
The beef Wellington was just about raw... my stomach started cramping right when I left and I got sick. Super expensive.
If I could describe Mizuna in one word it would be exceptional. The attention paid by the front house and kitchen staff to every detail made this a memorable experience. We have dined at many of Denver’s fine dining establishments over the years and a Frank Bonnano has outdone himself with his flagship establishment. My wife chose the Beef Wellington and I had best best pheasant I have ever tasted. And definitely try the lobster Mac and cheese for an appetizer. Well done, folks, well done!
This is one of our favorites for special occasions. The wait staff this time was amazing, and the cook staff was able to accommodate my celiac condition expertly.
Fantastic service. Every part of the meal, every part, is thought out and executed masterfully. The staff is friendly, considerate, and very knowledgeable. The food delivers. Period. Well worth it.
Wonderful service and food from start to finish. Wine list covers plenty of ground and very helpful and knowledgeable servers made meal a great experience. The baked clams over a chowder sauce was outstanding as was the rack of boar. Beef tenderloin was great as well.
Excellent cuisine and experience. We would highly recommend Mizuna.
Mizuna was my wife and I's first experience with French Cuisine and we were absolutely blown away. We ordered the Chefs tasting menu and It was truthfully the best food I can remember eating. Wine was paired well with food, service was professional yet cordial, with the concepts behind each course and drink being described in detail. Highly recommend.
The dinner rolls and or bread were out of this world! So delicious!! Every course was truly a wonderful experience for the taste buds!
