Mizuna resonates with quiet conversation. The linen-draped tables and soft yellow dining room perfectly highlight the cuisine, also simple, elegant, and understated. Chef/owner Frank Bonanno has created a special spot for food lovers here. At Mizuna, cooks are given free creative reign over a menu that changes monthly to emphasize pure, seasonal ingredients with clean flavors that make even the most exotic fare seem familiar. Ultimately, this is an American-style restaurant heavy on French technique, influence, and philosophy with flawless service and an eclectic assortment of international wines.

Mizuna Ratings and Reviews
One of the best meals my wife and I ever had; we did the Chef's choice/menu which was a 6-course meal with a fixed price ($200)...and we were surprised with each dish. Rocco was our waiter and he was great as well as the entire staff. Attentive, not stuffy...can't wait to give Mizuna another try.
Can’t express how much we enjoyed our first meal at Mizuna. We savored the cocktails, the wine (selected from an impresive list) and each bite of every course. The beef Wellington was to die for and the desserts are beyond words. The whole experience was sublime. Look forward to returning.
Party of 4 close friends. We did the tasting menu. Incredible. We are all still talking about it. Might have been the best all around meal I’ve ever had and I am picky. Service great. Wines explained well. Cocktails made properly. Portions appropriate. Just perfect.
The food is amazing at this place. if you are looking for an alternative to the standard upscale surf & turf run of the mill American restaurants - this is the place to go to. Really good wine list, food is perfect and service was 5 star all the way through.
Also has a fun bar and an amazing list of old school cocktails with knowledgeable bar staff.
Not the fanciest location but the food and experience is great!
Mizuna is small - perhaps 20 tables. We went on Wed. so there were fewer diners. It's intimate, very comfortable, and the wait staff was excellent. We got thoughtful recommendations from the sommelier. We're not savvy wine experts but he put us at ease by carefully getting our preferences (category, price range, etc) and describing wines he thought we would like. The food is the real star of the restaurant. There are innovative dishes like warm potato salad, and magret duck breast, all carefully prepared. The style is French. The only downside is that it's a pretty pricey place. You're paying for small-volume, labor-intensive food and a world-class wine list. But if you're a real foody, this is your kind of restaurant. We'd definitely go back.
Had reservations to take my 87 year old French aunt out for her birthday. Everything was amazing. There was a Happy Birthday card on the table waiting for us. The hostess was great, we were seated on time, server and wine sommelier were extremely helpful and very nice. The food. Ohmygoodness, the food. Exceptional. Husband had the venison, aunt had the halibut and I had the arctic char. We were never rushed through the dinner, given great suggestions for wine and dessert (sweet potato dumpling thingy's with marshmallow) and really had a beautiful evening. Very special - thank you, thank you, thank you Mizuna!
It was an amazing experience. The food was unlike anything I have ever had and the service was what I imagine a five star restaurant to be. Unbelievable! It was my wife and I for our first wedding anniversary and the staff put a happy anniversary card on the table. So blessed to be able to make that our place for celebrations. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for making our day special.
Mizuna is a fine dining fixture in a city where dining options have both greatly increased in number and improved in quality over the last 5-10 years. Consequently, while the service and atmosphere at Mizuna are local standouts (Denver's service standards and ethic are very low compared to both coasts and more cosmopolitan landlocked cities), the menu suffers from lack of creativity and mediocre quality ingredients - i.e., not particularly fresh, local, seasonal or even high grade. We ordered the tasting menu paired with reserve selection wines. Again, good service, especially from the sommelier, but the food was actually regretable. Specifically, the fish (salmon) was slightly off and thus inedible, the beef (prepared a la Wellington) average grade, and the dessert was unimaginative in concept and disastrous in execution. None of the other courses stood out. Great wine pairings, though. $500 for two dinners and one wine pairing, including two predinner cocktails.
Our visit was a bit of mixed bag. Entree was off and had to send it back (I never send food back but had to this time). They agreed it was off and comped our food order. My wife's chicken was good and my appetizer were good.
Cocktails were excellent.
Service was not good unfortunately. Our cocktails and appetizers arrived at the same time (when we asked them to stagger them). After that flub, our server basically abandoned us.
Shame really as parts of the dinner were excellent.
My husband and I have come here for our anniversary for the last 4 years. This year the service was off--appetizers at different times (with significant time difference--30 minutes), generally inattentive server. Every other year, everything about Mizuna has been top notch--great service, delicious food, creative cocktails. It was a bummer that it missed the mark for our tenth anniversary :(
