Had appetizers and dessert at the bar as a late meal after arriving at airport. Wonderful food, nice and attentive people.
Restaurant was cold, but they remedied when I asked about it. Food was creative and tasty. Bread basket could have been fresher/warm, I've had better popovers. The fennel roll was unexpected and quite yummy though. And kudos for soft butter! My seared scallops was absolutely delicious and hubby's lobster Mac and cheese was a hit. The s'mores dessert would have been much better if the homemade marshmallow was warm and gooey versus solid/room temp. The chocolate, ice cream, and the caramel corn were very good in the s'mores dessert, but the overall note was just too sweet (and I love sweet).
awesome service! fantastic yummy food! great service! huge selection of quality wine from all over the world!
Great experience, had the duck and the Wellington and both were amazing. Perfect service, perfect wine pairing... But definitely on the pricey side!
We came to Mizuna for our anniversary and had an amazing experience. Each staff member took the time to recognize the occasion and we were complimented a champagne toast and a greeting card upon arrival.
Our server, Zach was friendly and knowledgeable. After our first few questions/comments he immediately adapted to our preferences and jumped in with suggestions. Always checking to make sure everything was to our liking. The vibe was intimate and welcoming! Thank you, Zach!
On to the food...
We started with the Baked King Crab and the Foie Gras. The king crab was delicious accompanied by an artichoke dip. I made sure to take a few bites of just the crab as not to lose the flavor in the surroundings. Every bite was a hit.
The foie gras was seared to perfection served with figs and a fig Newton type cookie. This appetizer was my personal favorite.
For entrees, we ordered the beef Wellington and the veal piccata. The beef Wellington was a perfect medium rare and the Japanese sweet potato purée was sweet and tasty. Veal is not my meat so I didn’t personally try it but there was not a drop left. What seemed like a small portion of veal was perfectly filling and seemed to be the table favorite.
On to dessert, we ordered the s’mores. The consistency of the marshmallow was a little more grainy and dry than a traditional marshmallow but the burnt honey ice cream with it together was delicious! The black sesame caramel corn on the side was a bit sticky on your teeth, so I picked pieces with more of a drizzle and found those to be more enjoyable.
Drinks at the table included the aged old fashion, the men in black, and the headless horseman, which placed as follows:
1st Headless Horseman - perfect dessert beverage for fall! (We decided we’d be back for a bar seat and a few of these)
2nd Men in Black
3rd Aged Old Fashion
Overall, service was fantastic, portion sizes were good, food was tasty. Of course it comes with a price tag - feels like money well spent :)
They’re menu was so good that the choice was impossible, so we got the tasting menu, which was fantastic. Ask for Carolyn, our server. She was excellent, with a great knowledge of each dish and helped us out on how to use the OpenTable rewards.
Food was delicious and they acknowledged my husband's birthday with a note card and some champagne prior to our meal. Very nice touches. Service was excellent.
Every serving was excellent and a great dining experience.
The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend. Our dining experience, including all aspects was delightful!
Special birthday treatment. Excellent wine selection by the bottle...somewhat limited by the glass. The Beef Wellington was a little underdone for medium-rare.
Best restaurant in Denver! What more needs to be said.
I will go back to Denver just to eat here. This is the perfect combination of fine dining with approachable and friendly service.
Trust that the tasting menu with delight and impress.
Wonderful food, great service in a pleasant atmosphere.
What a wonderful evening! I was celebrating the birthdays of three of my friends. The entire staff was welcoming, entertaining, and incredibly knowledgeable. Every dish was amazing in its creativity, presentation, and flavors. Thank you especially, to Tim for your guidance on the wine and to Pauley (sp) for making our evening so special!
It was our 15 year anniversary and they made everything perfect. We do wish we had private seating but it wasn't too busy yet so it was enjoyable. They had an anniversary card on the table also which was very nice of them to do. Those little touches, mean alot. Thank you very everything and for being very professional.
As always the food was outstanding (maybe just a touch salty though). Personable and attentive service made the experience. It's been awhile since our last visit; we won't wait as long this time. Thanks!
The wine list was superb!
The lobster mac and Cheese was the best ever tasted!
The service was excellent!
All the main food /rolls were top notch-
Excellent taste/well plated/ ample amounts
Did not care for the Banana Foster dessert or the home made ice cream.
Ambiance was very nice- but too loud.
Everything was excellent. The foie gras is a must!! The sommelier paired wines for every course for our party of four.
First time In after recently moving 3 blocks away! Great find! Intimate, fabulous food, and wonderful service!!
Always wonderful! Zach is the best!
This has to be one of the best meals I've had in years. The service was impeccable and still very personable. The food was spot on. A very special experience.
Delicious meal - halibut snd salmon were both great; our server paired wine for us with our main course that was perfect! You can not beat the top notch service here!
Excellent place all around.
Absolutely fabulous meal and service! This is my new favorite Denver restaurant!
The food was excellent, the service, while not bad, could have been a bit better. On the service, there were more than one occasion where we felt we had to wait longer than necessary or order. This started both with the drink orders, and also the dinner. Although the dinner order could have been because we were in no hurry to decide either. In terms of food, the cheese rolls were phenomenal as well as the profiterole, and the octopus/pasta appetizer. We also got the crab appetizer, which was good, but we both thought that it would be better if the sauce was slightly less sweet, and I thought the tuna overpowered the crab a bit. We did have a bit of a snafu with the lamb entree - everything was way over-salted, so we sent it back. I cannot say enough about this restaurant working to rectify the issue. First, they sent out another appetizer (tuna crudo - also excellent) on the house, and then a perfectly executed beef Wellington (our choice to replace the lamb), which might have been the single best entree I have had in years. For dessert, we had creme brûlée, which was pretty good although would suggest serving a compote and creme on the side rather than on top of the nice crispy brûlée.
An incredible experience. Imaginative, delightful good served with precision. Classy, not snobby. One of the best restaurants you'll never visit
Amazing food! Exceptional service! I surprised my partner with a meal here for her birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. We will be back.
Family visiting from out of state
Most incredible dining experience I’ve ever had in my life. Words could not do justice to the amazing atmosphere, service and food that I had. Thank you for a wonderful goodbye on my last night in Colorado
Mizuna was everything we’d hoped for to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Every plate that came out was beautiful... the flavors were inventive and delicious. Every person that served us was thoughtful and knowledgeable. Mizuna was a beautiful experience from start to finish.
Mizuna was the best return in Denver. Not anymore. The meal was just OK
They were not very friendly for gluten free. They did not have or know what was on the tasting menu an said there were no modifications for dietary restrictions. I will never go back.
Tuna Tartar: Ok Boring , No spice
Caprese Salad: This was the best dish of the evening. Great tomatoes and cheese with a nice sauce.
Halibut: Dry and a bit overcooked. Good Sauce.
Lamb Chops: Disappointing, one was rare as ordered the other Medium Well, Favor was just OK. Very small
The prices are premium and I expected more.
The wine list is very expense, very few drinkable bottles under $200. Passed omg wine that evening.
I tried to upload pictures but not working on Open table.
Excellent food. Excellent service. The food was prepared perfectly to order. Everything was super delicious. Great neighborhood gem.
My husband and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary! Our server Jamie was super awesome and knowledgeable as was the sommelier that evening. We opted to skip the tasting menu and create our own. We started with the yellowtail sashimi which was delicious. The mussel Beurre Blanc sauce that goes over the top made it next level. We also had the arugula pasta with octopus and the caprese salad (the balsamic ice cream is to die for). We wrapped up our food coma with the halibut and beef Wellington. Both really good. The whole evening was wonderful!
Request the wine room! We had a fabulous meal and enjoyed the chef’s tasting menu. They accommodated our allergies beautifully. Great place.
Have dined here multiple times and really enjoyed it. Had the tasting menu which we have done before and frankly was disappointed. I would have to rate the meal as average which is disappointing because we really like the place.
Service was excellent!! Starter was great. main of scallops and curry quinoa was way too over powered by the ginger. Dessert was fantastic. Great job
The food and service here are wonderful! I do wonder why there is no female wait staff? Is that intentional? It is a pricy place but worth the splurge!
Great food and wine!!!!
Anniversary and all wait staff was aware and congratulated us and gave us dessert. We had the chef’s menu and each course was excellent
