Did the tasting menu with reserve wine pairings. Sat in wine room off main dining room at the 4-top in the corner. No better table - we were so happy. Food and wine did not disappoint at any point in the night! Also, portion size was spot on, in our opinion.
Best restaurant in Denver. Expensive and worth every penny!
We tried the tasting menu this time and it was amazing. I’ve never had anything that I didn’t like at Mizuna. The staff is super knowledgeable and so nice!
We're from TX and this is our go-to place in Denver. We always have the pre-fix with wine pairings. The food was and is always delicious. The wine pairing raised the bar of the meal. The service was wonderful, and quick. We enjoyed the 6 courses (full sized portions) and the dessert was to die for. They even sent us home a wonderful carrot cake in the box to take home in addition to the chocolate bon bon and dessert. Wow, quite an experience.
Amazing. Best steak in all of Denver.....and I have been to a lot of them. WOW>
Great food, great service. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice evening out.
20 years wedding anniversary
the service was very friendly and very professional...food came out timely and was uniformly
excellent. expensive but worth the price
Food was good. Service and staff were excellent. Breading on green tomatoes was too heavy and to thick.
Our second visit to this wonderful place. Woody was our excellent server. Ryan, once again, chose the perfect wine that matched all our meals. The phesant, scallops, and triple lamb dish were knockouts. We were disappointed with the Ono fish dish and, after a second try the meal was taken off the check. Definitely one of the best restaurants i a have been to.
Run, don't walk to have the asparagus with truffles! TDF!
We had a great meal, beef Wellington and Ono. Flavor and quality great. Wine Master Ryan Graber was spot on.... Chefs did not look like they were enjoying their experience though ...I thanked them and clapped my hands as a thanks as I left , barely a smile !!! Lighten up chefs .
The service, the presentation and quality of our meal was exceptional. Which is always the case.
Mizuna is our special event restaurant and they always meet their very high standards....
Very disappointing dinner everyone’s main course arrived cold. I don’t know what happened in the kitchen because there was plenty of time in-between courses . The scallops didn’t have the great cooked crust, cold in the middle, pheasant was succulent but cold, dish overall wasn’t too special. Waiter felt terrible about it and tried offered to recook or heat. They re-cooked my mother’s fish. I felt very sad my favorite restaurant was declining. Where’s frank? I use to see he and his wife going in between the restaurants. We’d been regulars at mizuna for many years since they opened always enjoyed their outstanding food, ambiance, friendly staff. The last 5 or so we haven’t been dining there regularly with all the new restaurants opening in Denver but we occasionally checked to dine for our favorite meals. This time I took my mother to celebrate her visit to Denver.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Best Mizuna ever.
Service was exceptional. Wine selections are impressive.
The food, the platting, and the service was excellent. They also had a great wine list and helped with the pairings.
One of the best spots in all of Denver!
The evening was brilliant. From the moment we sat down until the last bite we had at dessert. The staff was attentive and the food was amazing and I had one of the best crème brûlée’s of my entire life. The caramelization on top was perfect not too thick just thin enough to where it would crack and be crunchy in your mouth, but the Brulé was incredible, creamy not overly sweet it had this butteriness to it, it was just absolutely the most delectable thing I had put in my mouth in 20 years.
In the past, Mizuna has been one of my all-time favorite places to eat at. The service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was classy but not stilted. I'm not sure if this was just an off night but I definitely left disappointed this time.
The menu has changed since I have last eaten here. We started with the lobster mac & cheese. In the past, this was amazing. This time it was just okay. Next, we had the snails. I am a big fan of snails but have to say that this was one of the most bland preparations I have had. And finally for the main course we had the turbot. The fish was bland and smelled fishy. The sides were lackluster and nothing to get excited about.
And finally, the service was good but not at the stellar level I have expected from Mizuna. I would love to give this place another shot because in the past it has been so great. But considering how many new restaurant choices there are not it may be some time before I head back.
Amazing GREAT food! Will be going back! Yes Yes YES
I wasn’t blown away by the food. Foi gras was good but the venison wasn’t prepared as flavorfully as I would have liked and the accompaniments didn’t do it any favors.
The service was average, a bit slow, and watching the waiters constantly pop their heads from the front of the restaurant into the back room where we were seated, was a little distracting. They could use some work on being unobtrusive.
We had high expectations and they were met! Service was warm and excellent. Timing was perfect. Even valet was superb. Food was exciting and well executed. Great night. (Wahoo and Scallops)
The service was extraordinary and that alone made for a wonderful evening. The food was also very good, but snice the Chefs at Mizuna definitely bring the flavor to every dish, be aware that some can clash. Next time, I'll talk with the staff more about selections just like with the Sommelier about wine pairings. Atmosphere is near perfection with just enough ambient noise to lend a degree of privacy to a conversation. About the only negative is the tight seating, I was bumped into many times during the meal. All in all, a great place to spend an evening, I'll definitely go back.
One of our favorite places, the Lobster Mac & Cheese still reins supreme
First time here. Great food, atmosphere, and service.
The food was excellent. Will go again. One of the best lobster bisque I have had in a while. Last time was in a Pellegrino top 50 restaurants. Truffle pasta was awesome. Also the sauce for the scallop was awesome and original. Need to work on the "cuisson" of the pheasant breast. The sauce was really good. Also need to work on desert. So hard to find great deserts on this side of the pond. Overall I do recommend this restaurant.
Exceptional service. Foie gras appetizer was my favorite. Creme brûlée was surprisingly very good and unique with a savoury side. Main course pheasant was slightly over cooked though. Overall, highly recommended.
We continue to come here to celebrate special occasions because the food and service is always outstanding. It is our favorite restaurant in Denver.
Was almost touching elbows with the 2 tops next to us. Wellington pastry was way undercooked . Had to remind server about salad we ordered after entrees were brought out.. positive side was strong drinks and good wine selection . Not likely to return.
Another fabulous evening at Mizuna! We delayed our Valentines' Day celebration to Friday night, but we ordered the tasting menu. Every course was fresh, flavorful and unique including: to die for seafood bisque, amazing mushroom pasta, incredible salmon, perfectly grilled pheasant! and the desserts were sublime. Then the truffles to finish, that were like French chocolates from the Gods! This place never fails to deliver high quality (food, service, wine) every time.
A truly amazing meal! I felt like we were in a romantic, little restaurant in France!
By far the best restaurant in Denver, Co
Highly recommend it!
For the Valentine’s dinner, we only enjoyed a few of the courses.
Course #1: The lobster bisque was too salty for us, and the pieces of lobster were cold, which cooled down the whole soup. I would have preferred an unsweet vinaigrette on the salad. The two little crackers (?) were very dry. The goat cheese souffle was very nice.
Course #2: The pasta with truffle was our favorite - delicious. The risotto and muscles were overpowered by the sausage. It didn’t really work as a dish.
Course #3: The scallop was classic and good. The salmon was not terribly good or refined. Maybe it was farmed.
Course #4: The beef was cold and flavorless, the vegetables were good. The pheasant and root vegetables were very good.
Course #5. The chocolate cake with hazelnut was good. The pistachio ice cream sandwich was a disaster. While the thin layer of ice cream was very good, the lemon shortbread crust was hard, thick and lacking in flavor. I had a really hard time penetrating it with a fork and knife.
Of the wine pairings, we really enjoyed two of them, the Meursault was wonderful, as was the Pineau des Charantes. We drank very little of the other wines that were part of the pairings. My Crozes Hermitage was very nice.
We were disappointed. Maybe we would have done better dining on a regular night, with the regular menu.
Mizuna had been highly recommended to us by many friends & family however, the experience and food did not match the pricing. We went on Valentine’s Day so the customer volume may have detracted from their usual quality.
Got there At 5. Staff was all over us and the service was great BUT once the tables fill up
The service really slips
Maybe: Mizuna use to be my wife’s and my favorite restaurant but our latest experience disappointed us. Took forever to get our beverages and then when we didn’t like the more expensive house Chardonnay the wine steward said several time he didn’t know if certain wines were available. Scallops taste fishy and my fish was too well done and dry. The evening didn’t measure up to our expectations.
I put the special occasion is my birthday but the restaurant did not even honor it.
My guest got allergic with the food which is never happened before. However, the waiter provided benadryl afterward.
This was my first experience at fine dining and I have to say, I was not disappointed! I happened to be the only customer due to a snow storm which made it all the better. It felt like I had the whole place to myself. Their service was outstanding and I never once had to want for anything. My server was extremely helpful on any questions I had as well as his attitude was very friendly yet professional. The cocktails were very tasty and the food was absolutely exquisite. Everything was prepared and plated perfectly and the taste was outstanding. I would definitely recommend to anyone for a quiet or romantic evening out, also if you want to go solo as well! I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back next time I’m in the Denver area.
The service and wait staff were amazing. The cocktails were also amazing. The food was very good.
