Our waiter was key to our overall experience and he was pleasant and professional. Great personality too.
The food was outstanding.
The hosts were lovely and welcoming.
I made reservations for 7:15 pm. I couldn’t make it on time so I called. The staff was so quick to move my reservation to 7:30 pm. I liked that there was no hassle. When we arrived, we were seated right away. The food was delicious. What you see in the picture is exactly what you get. The servers were efficient although sometimes robotic. They just took the order and did not engage in any small talk nor did they introduce themselves. Overall very good restaurant. Am glad they also have a location in Southern California. This was our first time at the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint us.
The food we ordered was very good. The only exception was the wasabi for the sashimi and sushi was not very spicy at all. I like mine to have a kick to it which it did not have it just was tasteless paste. We will try again another time to see if they can make the wasabi like it should taste.
The food was delicious and the service was great as well
The combination of traditional and creative new sushi options with good quality seafood at reasonable prices makes this place one of the top restaurants in San Jose in my opinion.
It was good as per usual, the prices have gone up a little bit and the quality down slightly. Still like it and will go back, keep the quality up and prices reasonable!
The rolls were delicious and there is such variety.
Great food and service, second time here and going back!
Very fresh fish, well prepared.
It was a belated birthday dinner and we were looking forward to Mizu hadn’t been in a while. The service was excellent even with a full house and the manager as always ensured that we all ate well!!!
I love the food. I give 5 stars for Mizu.
Let’s start with the good. The food was fantastic! The sushi boat is honestly worth the money if you are not picky about your seafood. Excellent food as always. Now for the really bad. I never reply to questioners because I don’t usually see the point. However, this time I have no problem writing a response. Quite shocking for a place that has such a high standard to provide such poor quality of service. It was over 15 minutes before someone came and greeted us and asked us for at least the drinks. Now I have worked in the industry and i know all the if and buts, there is never an excuse to leave a table waiting for 15 minutes without at least getting their drink orders. It was absolutely impossible to find our waiter the entire course of the meal so we had to catch attention of any waiter or staff that made eyes contact to ask for basic things like utensils. We ordered three appetizers and a sushi boat for four. Well our first appetizer came, with only 3 minutes to be followed by our main course, and finally second appetizer 10 minutes after. Third one was never even placed in the system to be prepped. This review by no means should affect the food and the chefs, because that was the only good part of this experience. Thanks chefs, but the front of the house needs to get it together, because that was in acceptable of Mizu.
server Philip took dishes even though we didn’t finish. He didn’t ask before he took it. But the food was great.
We had an enjoyable meal at Mizu. Our table was a little bit small for the two of us and we were on the end where everyone walks by, but the food was good and hot and the service was great. It was nice that the miso soup was included.
Food is very good. Service almost too goof...they want to turn the table. You cans manage this by not ordering everything at once.
Always a pleasure to go here to eat. The foods are plenty to select and the services are awesome. Luv it.
My favorite sushi spot in the bay area
Awesome restaurant great food best sushi in town
Mizu is always a hit. Our family comes here about once a quarter, and we always have a great experience.
My water glass went empty and was never refilled. Waitress never checked on us after we got our food. Just came back with check.
Presentation of some of the rolls was beautiful.
Bar looks absolutely beautiful in the online picture, but that was as far as that went.
Felt like they were very mechanical.
I am very disappointed. I have been here before and had a good experience. Last night was the worst and of course it had to be on my boyfriend's birthday.
For starters, we were placed in the corner when the restaurant was no where near full. When are server came up to us, we asked to order and she rudely said "hold on". When we got our food, we were missing a roll and our server did not come check on us for about 10 minutes. We tell her we didn't get a roll and she finally cracks a smile to tell us it was our fault when we ordered. No apology whatsoever. We finally get the final roll and our other rolls are cold from waiting. We ask for a fork. Server never brings it. We want the check. No server to be found.
Luckily, we found a busser who was very friendly and apologized for the server's behavior. We wished he was our server.
No one should feel like a burden to their server and that's exactly how we felt. It felt as if we were judged by our ethnicity from the beginning which is NOT ok. For the amount of money this food costs, there should be superb service.
The service seem to be completely overwhelmed but that doesn’t excuse having five different mistakes within one hour of the dining experience. Dishes were served that weren’t ordered and dishes that were ordered never came. In the end even the bill was incorrect.
We went for an early dinner with our infant. It was perfect! Quiet and not busy in the middle of the week at 5:45
A favorite for business lunches. The food is delicious and the service is quick and efficient.
Sashimi needs to be cut thinner. The Tuna and Salmon were cut thick.
our go to for delicious sushi. excellent atmposhere and service. always a nice dinner for a special occassion. Mizu never disappoints.
Great food, a bit on the pricier side.
Great sushi and quick service. I will definitely return.
The best sushi I've had in a long time! Service was phenomenal as well. Look forward to going back soon!
The food was delicious. The service was great. We were celebrating a birthday and got to pick a dessert.
One of my favorite places to eat. The Sakura roll was fantastic as usual.
This place is the McDonalds of sushi. Food was inedible. We ordered several things but each item was just awful. Complete waste of money. Staff was very nice though.
Our server was very good and very attentive. However, we didn't know that the restaurant closes at 2:30. Our reservation was at 1:30. We were still having our main course when somebody came to our table and put the tab on our table and told us that they are closing soon so here's our bill!! Thank goodness for our server, he saved the day by calmly letting us know that we don't have to hurry to finish our meal and if we need dessert that he would still serve us that!!!!
Good food, good services, and good place to be. The drinks are good too.
The servers kept changing and we had a very poor experience. They are all preoccupied on their phones and not care to help us out. We would have ordered more food and drinks if they were paying attention to us, but they stuck us in a booth far away up front and didn’t check in at all. Maybe 2-3 times the whole night. We won’t be back. Bummer! Plus they charged us for a California roll they didn’t bring out. :(
Celebrating coworker moving to Austin
A bit too expensive
Frequent visitor but it’s been awhile.
Friday night reservation for 2ppl.
Waited over 10min after seating to be acknowledged.
Biggest grip was service and tuna tar-tar appetizer.
Main waitress was non responsive and slow, felt house staff (supervisor and manager?) was rushing us out. Had more attention from them during cleanup and check than waitress.
Ordered Tuna Tar-tar for app; did not come with chips, toast points or anything else to eat with. When asked, they noted it didn’t come with anything else and I had to order a side of taro chips to enjoy. Sorry but who serves tuna tar-tar w/o something to eat it with?
Seafood was fresh.
Rolls were smaller than previous visits.
Recommend to friends .... prob not at this time. We’ve had great past experiences (minus the waitress, whom we’ve had several times. Just luck I guess). But as with most establishments, quality vs price has diminished. Which is too bad as they are one of the best for fresh seafood.
