grilled scallops skewer with fresh vegetables served with teriyaki sauce
Service was AMAZING!!! Food was excellent!
Consistent good food. Great atmosphere. Waiters attentive.
Food was good but the service was nonexistent. We were never greeted upon seating and had to wait 10 - 15minutes before our surly server came to take our order. No one acknowledged us beforehand. No one ever checked back with us after the food was served, either. Better to go somewhere else. The food is expensive for the poor service.
Best sushi in San Jose! Highly suggest the spicy tuna crispy rice, sunrise roll and garlic edamame
Great birthday dinner with my family
Lots of food quick polite service
Great sushi. The sashimi was fresh. There was a huge variety of rolls to chose from.
Excellent food and service as usual a bit noisy
We are off in a corner, which did make pretty exclusive, but the whole time we were seated next to children so that didn’t make it as fun as we would have liked but definitely would go back.
Food was acceptable. The service was not good. Waitress carried food and delivered by the edge of table instead of placing in middle.
Mizu sushi was amazing!! The quality, quantity, and variety of the plates was incredible. The manager and wait staff were very friendly and efficient - we also had an allergy issue that they were very understanding of and pleasant to work out with us. They lychee martini is the best martini I’ve had, and so was the sushi!! I loved the decor and layout - we had just the right amount of privacy at our booth, and everything was elegant.
Great food as always
Don't go there, even with a reservation on a Friday night. Even though we had open table reservations, the service was very slow. Cocktails took 20 minutes. The waiter was quick to bring a check and rush us as soon as we finished the food. One guy even said to us "Even though you have a reservation on Open table, we are busy and you need to leave." He could have been more polite and we were not lingering. The treatment left us not eager to return or try a weeknight.
Family get together
Great sushi and a great business lunch place.
Birthday Dinner was amazing! Sushi was fresh and everything was outstanding!!
This is our favorite sushi restaurant and have always had great service, however, we where very disappointed with the Service this evening. I had to rate it with only 1 star.
Went there for NYE dinner with my g.f. and was pleased with the high quality of sushi. We got the boat for two which had a wide selection of fish and rolls. The only negative about the experience was the slow wait time between being seated and the arrival of food (around 45 minutes). Server also seemed a bit overwhelmed and clearly had too many tables to be very attentive to our needs although she did try.
We went to Mizu San Jose several times and we like this place. We ordered Sushi Signature boat again and Donburi this time and our kids love them.
Very good food. You have to make reservations since it can get quite full.
Great selection but very pricey compared to other comparable sushi places. It’s better suited for large groups of friends rather than small family dinners.
I love the sushi there.Alaska is always the best, will definitely coming back.
We've been coming to Mizu for many years. We've celebrated many milestones, birthdays and special occasions here. Service is always prompt and attentive. Sushi is fresh and delectable. Great for families, date nights, and business meetings.
This is a favorite go to place for business meals and for regular meals when I’m in town. Sushi is always fresh and service is always good and efficient.
The worst service ever! This restaurant has great quality food but zero customer service.
the Waitress was rude, was short, and could not wait for us to leave. Did not offer us the desert menu just got the bill quickly before our food had finished.
not friendly and not pleasant.
the noise level in this restaurant does not make it an enjoyable experience either.
The waiters need better customer training services. They were slow in providing us what we needed, and not receptive to the serving need of some orders. For example we asked to share a dish, and the dish came without an extra plate for the 2nd person to divide on. When we asked them for an extra bowl or plate to share the rice, to took them so long that we decided to scoop the rice from the bowl of rice served to the appetizer plate. And when I do thank one server for bringing us more tea, he was not courteous enough to say you're welcome. The whole demeanor was summarized by one word - SNOBBISH.
The best Japanese restaurant in silicon Valley hands down, our server was named David and he is awesome. We need more David's in this restaurant industry
The food was spectacular. I will definitely will be back. Opentable made my reservation very easy. I was slightly disappointed with the service. This was my birthday dinner with two dear friends. The waitress seemed a bit unhappy about being there and pretty impatient. She also forgot about our second round of drinks which was lame. I hadn’t seen my friend in months and was very excited about what to order. Other than that I had a wonderful time and absolutely loved spending my birthday here. The mojitos were good! Thank you!
Met for our book club meeting. Hostess and Servers very accommodating! Delicious food.
Very solid American sushi joint. There was a very large variety of sushi rolls you could choose from, and they were all pretty good. I would have loved to try the sushi boat, but the table was more interested in doing family style sushi rolls. We ordered a number of sides (hamachi kama, calamari, garlic edamame, shrimp tempura) which were mostly good (the hamachi kama was definitely a miss). The restaurant is quite large - we made a reservation for opening hour but we could have easily walked in with no wait. The large menu selection means there's something for everyone, but it also means the quality for any one dish is not top notch (hence 4 star food rating). It's a great place if you're looking for sushi rolls in south bay. Save your super special occasions for a nicer place.
It was a special night since our daughter Evelyn graduated to a new level in ballet and can now dance in her new point shoes
The food and ambiance was superb!
We only ate the sushi rolls and sweet potato fries. Fries were delicious with a wasabi aioli that was a unique compliment to the fries. The rainbow blossom sushi was very satisfying. My daughter loved the bay scallop poppers. We lived in Fair Oaks, CA that had a Mikuni’s down the street, so still looking for a sushi place in the South Bay that can replicate their rolls. I would come back here again to try a few more rolls.
The service in the past was never friendly but it used to be efficient. This time it was hard to get the waitress attention for basic things. Also $10 for a bottle of sparkling water is a bit much.
Our waiter was key to our overall experience and he was pleasant and professional. Great personality too.
The food was outstanding.
The hosts were lovely and welcoming.
I made reservations for 7:15 pm. I couldn’t make it on time so I called. The staff was so quick to move my reservation to 7:30 pm. I liked that there was no hassle. When we arrived, we were seated right away. The food was delicious. What you see in the picture is exactly what you get. The servers were efficient although sometimes robotic. They just took the order and did not engage in any small talk nor did they introduce themselves. Overall very good restaurant. Am glad they also have a location in Southern California. This was our first time at the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint us.
The food we ordered was very good. The only exception was the wasabi for the sashimi and sushi was not very spicy at all. I like mine to have a kick to it which it did not have it just was tasteless paste. We will try again another time to see if they can make the wasabi like it should taste.
The food was delicious and the service was great as well
The combination of traditional and creative new sushi options with good quality seafood at reasonable prices makes this place one of the top restaurants in San Jose in my opinion.
