This is a favorite go to place for business meals and for regular meals when I’m in town. Sushi is always fresh and service is always good and efficient.
The worst service ever! This restaurant has great quality food but zero customer service.
the Waitress was rude, was short, and could not wait for us to leave. Did not offer us the desert menu just got the bill quickly before our food had finished.
not friendly and not pleasant.
the noise level in this restaurant does not make it an enjoyable experience either.
The waiters need better customer training services. They were slow in providing us what we needed, and not receptive to the serving need of some orders. For example we asked to share a dish, and the dish came without an extra plate for the 2nd person to divide on. When we asked them for an extra bowl or plate to share the rice, to took them so long that we decided to scoop the rice from the bowl of rice served to the appetizer plate. And when I do thank one server for bringing us more tea, he was not courteous enough to say you're welcome. The whole demeanor was summarized by one word - SNOBBISH.
The best Japanese restaurant in silicon Valley hands down, our server was named David and he is awesome. We need more David's in this restaurant industry
The food was spectacular. I will definitely will be back. Opentable made my reservation very easy. I was slightly disappointed with the service. This was my birthday dinner with two dear friends. The waitress seemed a bit unhappy about being there and pretty impatient. She also forgot about our second round of drinks which was lame. I hadn’t seen my friend in months and was very excited about what to order. Other than that I had a wonderful time and absolutely loved spending my birthday here. The mojitos were good! Thank you!
Met for our book club meeting. Hostess and Servers very accommodating! Delicious food.
Very solid American sushi joint. There was a very large variety of sushi rolls you could choose from, and they were all pretty good. I would have loved to try the sushi boat, but the table was more interested in doing family style sushi rolls. We ordered a number of sides (hamachi kama, calamari, garlic edamame, shrimp tempura) which were mostly good (the hamachi kama was definitely a miss). The restaurant is quite large - we made a reservation for opening hour but we could have easily walked in with no wait. The large menu selection means there's something for everyone, but it also means the quality for any one dish is not top notch (hence 4 star food rating). It's a great place if you're looking for sushi rolls in south bay. Save your super special occasions for a nicer place.
It was a special night since our daughter Evelyn graduated to a new level in ballet and can now dance in her new point shoes
The food and ambiance was superb!
We only ate the sushi rolls and sweet potato fries. Fries were delicious with a wasabi aioli that was a unique compliment to the fries. The rainbow blossom sushi was very satisfying. My daughter loved the bay scallop poppers. We lived in Fair Oaks, CA that had a Mikuni’s down the street, so still looking for a sushi place in the South Bay that can replicate their rolls. I would come back here again to try a few more rolls.
The service in the past was never friendly but it used to be efficient. This time it was hard to get the waitress attention for basic things. Also $10 for a bottle of sparkling water is a bit much.
Our waiter was key to our overall experience and he was pleasant and professional. Great personality too.
The food was outstanding.
The hosts were lovely and welcoming.
I made reservations for 7:15 pm. I couldn’t make it on time so I called. The staff was so quick to move my reservation to 7:30 pm. I liked that there was no hassle. When we arrived, we were seated right away. The food was delicious. What you see in the picture is exactly what you get. The servers were efficient although sometimes robotic. They just took the order and did not engage in any small talk nor did they introduce themselves. Overall very good restaurant. Am glad they also have a location in Southern California. This was our first time at the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint us.
The food we ordered was very good. The only exception was the wasabi for the sashimi and sushi was not very spicy at all. I like mine to have a kick to it which it did not have it just was tasteless paste. We will try again another time to see if they can make the wasabi like it should taste.
The food was delicious and the service was great as well
The combination of traditional and creative new sushi options with good quality seafood at reasonable prices makes this place one of the top restaurants in San Jose in my opinion.
It was good as per usual, the prices have gone up a little bit and the quality down slightly. Still like it and will go back, keep the quality up and prices reasonable!
The rolls were delicious and there is such variety.
Great food and service, second time here and going back!
Very fresh fish, well prepared.
It was a belated birthday dinner and we were looking forward to Mizu hadn’t been in a while. The service was excellent even with a full house and the manager as always ensured that we all ate well!!!
I love the food. I give 5 stars for Mizu.
Let’s start with the good. The food was fantastic! The sushi boat is honestly worth the money if you are not picky about your seafood. Excellent food as always. Now for the really bad. I never reply to questioners because I don’t usually see the point. However, this time I have no problem writing a response. Quite shocking for a place that has such a high standard to provide such poor quality of service. It was over 15 minutes before someone came and greeted us and asked us for at least the drinks. Now I have worked in the industry and i know all the if and buts, there is never an excuse to leave a table waiting for 15 minutes without at least getting their drink orders. It was absolutely impossible to find our waiter the entire course of the meal so we had to catch attention of any waiter or staff that made eyes contact to ask for basic things like utensils. We ordered three appetizers and a sushi boat for four. Well our first appetizer came, with only 3 minutes to be followed by our main course, and finally second appetizer 10 minutes after. Third one was never even placed in the system to be prepped. This review by no means should affect the food and the chefs, because that was the only good part of this experience. Thanks chefs, but the front of the house needs to get it together, because that was in acceptable of Mizu.
server Philip took dishes even though we didn’t finish. He didn’t ask before he took it. But the food was great.
We had an enjoyable meal at Mizu. Our table was a little bit small for the two of us and we were on the end where everyone walks by, but the food was good and hot and the service was great. It was nice that the miso soup was included.
Food is very good. Service almost too goof...they want to turn the table. You cans manage this by not ordering everything at once.
Always a pleasure to go here to eat. The foods are plenty to select and the services are awesome. Luv it.
My favorite sushi spot in the bay area
Awesome restaurant great food best sushi in town
Mizu is always a hit. Our family comes here about once a quarter, and we always have a great experience.
My water glass went empty and was never refilled. Waitress never checked on us after we got our food. Just came back with check.
Presentation of some of the rolls was beautiful.
Bar looks absolutely beautiful in the online picture, but that was as far as that went.
Felt like they were very mechanical.
I am very disappointed. I have been here before and had a good experience. Last night was the worst and of course it had to be on my boyfriend's birthday.
For starters, we were placed in the corner when the restaurant was no where near full. When are server came up to us, we asked to order and she rudely said "hold on". When we got our food, we were missing a roll and our server did not come check on us for about 10 minutes. We tell her we didn't get a roll and she finally cracks a smile to tell us it was our fault when we ordered. No apology whatsoever. We finally get the final roll and our other rolls are cold from waiting. We ask for a fork. Server never brings it. We want the check. No server to be found.
Luckily, we found a busser who was very friendly and apologized for the server's behavior. We wished he was our server.
No one should feel like a burden to their server and that's exactly how we felt. It felt as if we were judged by our ethnicity from the beginning which is NOT ok. For the amount of money this food costs, there should be superb service.
The service seem to be completely overwhelmed but that doesn’t excuse having five different mistakes within one hour of the dining experience. Dishes were served that weren’t ordered and dishes that were ordered never came. In the end even the bill was incorrect.
We went for an early dinner with our infant. It was perfect! Quiet and not busy in the middle of the week at 5:45
A favorite for business lunches. The food is delicious and the service is quick and efficient.
Sashimi needs to be cut thinner. The Tuna and Salmon were cut thick.
our go to for delicious sushi. excellent atmposhere and service. always a nice dinner for a special occassion. Mizu never disappoints.
Great food, a bit on the pricier side.
