Mizu Sushi Bar & Grill - Mountain View
Food was tasty and nicely presented but the place was over priced and inattentive service.
We arrived at 1, knowing that they close at 2:30, figuring that was plenty of time for our lunch. We could not find the entrance, as we approached from the street rather than from the parking lot. Finally we entered from the patio, and came into a nearly empty restaurant. There were only two other people there at that time. We ordered and were served quickly. The food was good, but pricey. We had one large (Dragon) roll and a 3-item bento box, one hot tea and one iced tea, and the bill came to $39.70. At 1:40 the waitress brought the check to the table and said they were closing out, could we please pay! When I questioned the time, she said they wanted to close early. So we felt rushed.
This may just be the best sushi spot in Mountain View. I haven’t bothered going to a new place since I’ve tried Mizu. Not only is the sushi delicious, the service is fantastic. They also give out complementary miso soup! Highly recommend this place!
perfectly prepared tempura and gyoza, mildly spiced rolls with just the right kick
Always great food
Awesome food and service!
We went for the happy hour specials. Good value and good service
We had the sushi boat. It was huge but very good. The tables here could be a little nicer.
We loved it! The food was both beautifully arranged and delicious! Service was helpful, but not hovering. All super gracious and friendly. We'll definitely be back!
Good sushi. Good service.
Mizu is a fair Japanese restaurant. We ordered the Sashimi dinners, a San Jose Roll, and seaweed salads. We were a little disappointed with the seaweed salad because it was too runny with liquid. The Hamachi and Salmon were good. The Maguru pieces were much smaller than anticipated. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
We ordered sushi boat, grilled wagyu beef, sushi boat and baked cod. The sushi boat was good, but the wagyu beef wass overcooked, and the baked cod was too sweet. Overall, it was a fun experience, services were good.
Good food. Good service.
Love it. Great service and quality food with great presentation. Cool vibe
I used to go to Mizu all the time in San Jose then they opened in Mountain View and I went just as regularly. Haven’t been there in a few months and let me tell you the quality has gone down. The special rolls, the sashimi, unagi none of it tasted that fresh. A little hesitant to go back and won’t be recommending until I try it out again for freshness.
They have great service and food. Always come here for great sushi, the tuna just melts in your mouth
First time to visit Mizu after noticing it for quite some time. A colleague of mine and I decided to have dinner at the last moment and found an easy reservation via OT. Upon arrival, my colleague waited outside to speak with his wife and our waiter gave me a hint while awaiting him. She said a large group was coming in and recommended getting an order placed beforehand from the chefs. Smart call and we enjoyed a tremendous "boat" which was prepared perfectly. Pricing is very reasonable and will return again in the near future.
We had theater tickets and the staff was incredibly attentive and got us out in plenty of time. Delicious food with large pieces of fish in the sushi.
Really good go- to sushi place. The Toro was outstanding. Signature rolls are good too. We tried the Crazy Dragon one. Tuna Tartare was really good as well. Very fresh.
Service was really excellent. It was a busy evening but they were very efficient, pleasant and gave good recommendations.
We will definitely be dining there again.
The food was overly priced and pretty mediocre, but the ambience was nice and the staff very friendly.
Food and service were great, the bright lights and huge tvs were off-putting for what we hoped would be a relaxing night out, but we will return for other occasions
Mizu has ample seating and giant projection screens though the screens are not too bright during the day. It was raining and I wanted a hot soup. So one could never go wrong with tempura udon. The udon came in a giant soup bowl. The tempura came separately with a dipping sauce. Much to my chagrin, there was only one tempura shrimp. For $17, I would expect at least 2 if not 3 tempura shrimp. You know Bay Area is too pricey when you get only 1 tempura shrimp for a $17 lunch. :\
Excellent food and service
We like Chirashi bowl, too bad price has increased from $28 to $35. We're still looking for a roll as most have spicy tuna or sriracha sauce which we don't fancy. Otherwise, nice atmosphere and service with desirable location.
It was really relaxing and nice to eat here vs the San Jose location . I would return here again it is so worth the drive and parking is open in any where. What caught my attention is the customer service of every employee in that location. They helped you regardless of being your server or not. We need more employees like them and whom ever trained them here needs to train the San Jose location because they are the total opposites of them here. Thank you management of mizu Mountain View.
My friend and I were wanting sushi and decided to try Mizu. Warm welcome, good service. My friend enjoyed her spicy tuna salad and my agedashi tofu was nice. We shared the Sunkissed Roll (salmon, avocado & sesame seeds atop spicy tuna & cucumber. Sunkissed sauce was a light citrus-mayo.)
This has the vibe of a sports bar with lots if TVs and people packed in. Their rolls are loaded with things like cream cheese, mayonnaise, and other fatty sauces (sorry I am a purist, now I know better). Service is spotty especially at the sushi bar, where one of the rolls was not delivered until we asked for it after having finished the rest of our meal, i.e., server was not paying any attention. The sashimi orders are expensive but contain a reasonable amount of fish; amberjack was tasteless. None of our dishes (miso soup bowls, sashimi plates, etc were cleared until we were finished so we had to stack them on the shelf in front of us an stare at them during dinner. We arrived 10 early but were not seated for another 20 minutes. I get that sometimes people are slow but I don't like being told that they are cleaning our table now when in fact that was not the case. Food was okay but not special enough for me to return.
Our first time here. Very friendly, waitress didn’t rush us thru dinner. The food was great, fresh and tasty. I would recommend this place.
It was so good I forgot to take some pictures. I will definitely come back. Next time I won’t forget some pics. Been waiting for a nice sushi spot like this. Definitely recommend for sushi lovers.
Our first time eating here, and very happy with the sushi - great sushi, great service, good ambiance - all-in-all a great find. Made for a good date nite!
New year’s dinner with kids. Relaxed and friendly.
Very good service and good sushi and entree selections available. Our server was very good and alway made sure our water glasses were full and asked if we needed anything else a few times as she walked by.
We love the food. That's why we keep going back. Never disappoints.
We did not realize that this was the second location for a sushi place we love down on Winchester Boulevard. The food was fabulous! It was significantly more expensive than where we usually go for sushi, but everything was delicious. The main down side was the kitchen was really slow. We were a large party of 7 and smaller tables that were seated after us were getting their food well before us. One table that was seated after us actually finished their meal before we even got our food. Not a great experience because of the wait. Despite that, we will definitely be back! Hopefully the kitchen will be more on top of it next time.
Good customer service ,they always ask if everything’s OK and did you need anything else, good food, reasonable portions. Yes I will recommend this to my OHANA and friends.
EXCELLENT service from Roman! Very quick service and food was brought to the table in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant was pretty full so I was happy the food came out quickly and was delicious!
Everything is too sweet
Our Waiter was fantastic, we were seated outside and it was really cold and the restaurant was slow enough that he made accommodation for our party of 8 for inside seating. However, the food was not the same as the Mizu in Santa Clara/San Jose. The menu seems diffrent. When we got our meals all the hot items were warm or cold. I was disappointed especially with the price we paid it should have been better.
Great tasting large portions. Six of us all had different items, cooked and fresh. The sushi portions of sashimi were huge and tasty. The bulgogi beef and chicken were awesome too. Solid for family night out.
I think the food quality has gone downhill since the first time I went and it's very expensive. We only went back this time because we got a 50% off coupon for drinks, which are overpriced...it is very noisy and the waitress was not very attentive. She seemed more interested in talking to the table next to us. The sushi did not seem fresh either.
