Mity Nice Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
My family frequently eats at Mity Nice, but it's been a while since we've written an Open Table review so here's a new one. Mity Nice is one of the best casual restaurants in Chicago: delicious comfort food, very reasonable prices, and an amazing set of managers and staff. I want to give a special shout out to the host, Antoine, who always makes us feel welcome, the managers Elise and Mike, and our most recent server Zach Z., each of whom performs at the highest levels. Mity Nice is exemplary in every category.
Mity Nice is consistently a very good option for a weekend brunch or lunch. Food is good--menu has a range of choices that are accommodating of different tastes. Water Tower is not my favorite location, but being tucked in the back makes the experience much better.
Popovers are a treat! Service is always spot on. I'm a fan of the salads--which you can order without meat if you prefer.
Located in Water Tower Place on Michigan Av in downtown Chicago, Mity Nice is convenient. Menu is varied. We've been here several times, and each menu item we've tried has been prepared well. Server was attentive and friendly. The evening noise level was quiet enough that we could enjoy a comfortable conversation.
We dined at Mity Nice since Frankie's closed in the fall. The food was very good. They bring out these yummy popovers as a starter which are little bits of heavenly delight. Our meal consisted of tomato basil soup followed by the roast beef, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The meat was very tender, the mashed potatoes were creamy and the soup was delicious. I normally love brussel sprouts but these were very salty. We definitely will be back to Mity Nice for its comfort food and cozy atmosphere.
This restaurant needs a management overhaul. We waited 15 minutes (with a reservation) to be seated because the lovely young man who was hosting (Josh, who should get a raise) was seating, answering phones, clearing tables, resetting tables etc. There wasn’t a manager in sight and the whole place was predictably busy on a Friday before Christmas. I can’t imagine why anyone would choose to eat in this atmosphere, however our food and waiter were both good.
The restaurant was very busy on Saturday noon but this was no excuse for our waiter coming to our table only once until the meal was almost finished. We ask a bus boy for a setting of silverware which we never received. Our drinks were never refilled til the end of the meal after we ask twice. All item we ordered for the meal, never came but was on the check. This was the second Saturday after Thanksgiving and I blame the management for at least half the problems. Christmas shopping was in full swing and the wait staff should have been increased.
I was disappointed in he food. Had high expectations since it was part of the lettuce entertain you management. We ordered chicken finger, and they had very heavy breading, which was falling off before we could eat them. The chicken nachos, were scarce on ingredients to the point where I wasn't sure what was on them. The only good thing was the blueberry cobbler dessert! Would not go back, as the place was tucked in a food court, and food very mediocre!
We enjoyed a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner—all of the foods we usually cook for ourselves, and so many more, were prepared scrumptiously! There was so many delicious options that my only disappointment was not being able to eat more than I did. Thanks for a fabulous holiday dinner!
Had the Thanksgiving Brunch. Turkey was not Carved Whole Turkey but Processed Turkey Brest, it had a good taste but would have liked carved turkey for thanksgiving. Prime roast was seasoned with too much peppercorn. Was there last year and food was better quality. Overall 3 of 5 stars for us.
