Mity Nice Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was very busy on Saturday noon but this was no excuse for our waiter coming to our table only once until the meal was almost finished. We ask a bus boy for a setting of silverware which we never received. Our drinks were never refilled til the end of the meal after we ask twice. All item we ordered for the meal, never came but was on the check. This was the second Saturday after Thanksgiving and I blame the management for at least half the problems. Christmas shopping was in full swing and the wait staff should have been increased.
I was disappointed in he food. Had high expectations since it was part of the lettuce entertain you management. We ordered chicken finger, and they had very heavy breading, which was falling off before we could eat them. The chicken nachos, were scarce on ingredients to the point where I wasn't sure what was on them. The only good thing was the blueberry cobbler dessert! Would not go back, as the place was tucked in a food court, and food very mediocre!
We enjoyed a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner—all of the foods we usually cook for ourselves, and so many more, were prepared scrumptiously! There was so many delicious options that my only disappointment was not being able to eat more than I did. Thanks for a fabulous holiday dinner!
Had the Thanksgiving Brunch. Turkey was not Carved Whole Turkey but Processed Turkey Brest, it had a good taste but would have liked carved turkey for thanksgiving. Prime roast was seasoned with too much peppercorn. Was there last year and food was better quality. Overall 3 of 5 stars for us.
We dined on a Saturday late afternoon with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter after attending a high school musical at St. Ignatius. Jose was our server and he was outstanding, made on point recommendations. Our table was ready when we arrived, a very nice round booth in the back with a great vista of the restaurant. The guacamole appetizer was a big hit!
We all enjoyed our entrees which included the Thanksgiving dinner, fish tacos, cheeseburger and a pork tenderloin sandwich. Our only complaint was the booth next to us had a group of adults who were very loud and appeared to be quite inebriated. They left during our meal so we did not have to deal with it for our entire visit.
Located on the Mezzanine in Water Tower Place, Mity Nice is tucked behind FoodLife away from the mall traffic, quiet and comfortable. My wife and I went in between events in the area on the 1st Sat. of November, their first day for the Brunch menu. Nice mix of choices (see the menu) well done. Enjoyed our meal and visit.
This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants - the food never disappoints and the service always good. Tried the white fish for the first time and it was fantastic - the deviled eggs are always our favorite starter. Mike, one of the managers - stopped by to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. They even had $5.00/glass wine specials the night we were in which was a plus. You can't go wrong dining at Mity Nice!
Mity Nice Bar & Grill is located in the lower level food court of Water Tower Place and that is its only problem.
It is located way back in the corner of the food court. You go through what looks like the concourse of an airport to find it. Once there it is a cut above so much that is out in front that one thinks "if this place had street exposure you wouldn't be able to get in.
I had the turkey pastrami sandwich which was my error because turkey is turkey no matter how you dress it up. The sandwich was great and the home make potato chips were amazing! Order those! The wine was good.
I always ask myself when I leave a place: Would I go back? The answer her is: Yes.
Mity Nice is a go-to option when you need a break from Michigan Avenue bustle.
Food is excellent, service always great--and the popovers are a secret treat. Very yummy.
It's a quiet and lower light atmosphere, but balanced by the high quality food.
Lighter version of enchiladas and tacos are so very welcome--healthy and tasty.
We find ourselves here often--don't be put off by the location, Mity Nice is a neighborhood gem.
Maybe an off night. It started out by arriving and host tried to seat us before I could state that I had an open table reservation. Then he checked the system and saw that we did and proceeded to take us to a small cramped table after I had requested a booth. So, he did not read the open table request. I pointed out my request and he promptly seated us at a booth. The food is always good but restaurant didn't seem all that clean that night and service was very slow. I have never had an off experience like that before so we will give another chance but had it been our first time, we would have never returned.
