Mity Nice Bar & Grill
A lovely dining experience in my neighborhood! Such an attentive and gracious staff . Would highly recommend for delicious comfort food!
Seated at reservation time. Mediocre food. So-so service.
Dinner after the theater
Nice to have a place to eat where you can be waited on instead of standing in line.
Everything was delicious and the service was great!
Amazing food, even though it is tucked behind what looks like a food court! Great time!
Nice and quiet place to stop with family to eat! Great service.
Excellent restaurant w/excellent food.Me & my family have been coming here for years!Food & prices are always on point & the service is usually top notch but this time the waitress we had was terrible.Upon her first visit to table she told us she would get us some bread & asked us for our drink selections & my wife proceeded to ask if we could put in our appetizer order as well since we knew what we wanted & our 1.5 year old son was hungry so we ordered an appetizer & she asked if we knew what we wanted for entrees as well & we did so she took the whole order at once which I didn’t really like.Immediately after this I watch her take a drink order from a table that was seated after us as well as bring that table bread when she never even brought ours.We have napkins & silverware on table but no plates for appetizers or bread. She brings me my lemonade.Still no bread. She doesn’t return to the table for a long time. Never brung out bread or plates. I had to ask hostess if we could get some bread.bread comes.appetizer comes from another person of the wait staff.Still no plates & she still hasn’t come back.I asked the bus boy who filled out waters in the beginning of us sitting down for plates.Five minutes after appetizer comes here comes out entrees & we haven’t even finished the one appetizer we got.She never checked on us.Never refilled our waters or asked if we needed anything. All the while I’m watching her wait hand & foot on other tables & also standing at the bar giving me the stank face like I’ve done something wrong. After we enjoyed our delicious food we asked to talk to the manager which was a top notch guy and I proceeded to tell him about our experience & that I don’t like to complain & I’m certainly not asking for a free meal but that I just wanted him to know I wasn’t tipping his waitress that I thought treated us rudely for no apparent reason. He ended up comping the meal & I appreciate that and we will definitely be back! Big Thank you to Adam!
The ribs were delicious! The sauce was perfect. Lots to take home. Our server Hai was delightful! Very attentive, nice, beautiful smile ! Service excellent. The little pop ups are fantastic except you eat too many of them
Perfect spot before a matinee at Lookingglass. I think I prefer the lunch menu to brunch, but we all enjoyed our meals.
It was very busy. Server was friendly. It was difficult to get our server's attention, but he was helpful when he was there
Great food, service and ambience. Nice place to eat with children on a very busy day at Water Tower.
Restaurant is hidden quiet treasure away from this hustle and bustle of Water Tower. While we've been here before. this time was not the quality visit of previous visits. Food and service were not great. Waited like 20 minutes for the server to come and to fix the salad mistake. Also, they initially overcharged our kids fish & chips meal as an adult. It just wasn't up to par.
Was really disappointed this visit to Mity Nice. The place was half full and the hostess seated us at the way back where the kitchen doors kept swinging. We asked to be seated somewhere else not so close to the kitchen and were told other seats were reserved (which I too made a reservation). Our service was not so good as well. Water glasses were dirty. We also had to keep asking our server to refill our drinks even though he would pass by our table and see our glasses empty. The only thing that salvaged this visit was the food, which was good. We ordered the French onion burger, fish and chips, and the BBQ ribs. We will most likely not return.
I have eaten here quite often so I am familiar with the restaurant. The service was horrible to say the least. It was 15 minutes before we even got water. And that was after I said something to the host. We had to take plates and silverware off other tables, the server never refilled our water or ice tea. She never once came around to check on us plus I had to ask another server to get us jam for our toast. If I hadn’t mentioned that we had been waiting a half an hour for our food it might never of come. What a terrible place!!!!!! And it was not crowded!
A wonderful restaurant that cares and has amazing food. Ive been coming for over 30 years.
Only my 2nd time here. I love this restaurant. From the friendly man who welcomed with me water to a wonderful server who brought the amazing popovers and was so helpful and friendly and competent. Ad the food was fabulous. We loved it. And, oh did I mention THE POPOVERS?????
Excellent food - veggie burger with side salad & bacon cheddar burger with fries. Service was good until we were done eating & waiting to order desert & get the check. She spent a LOT of time talking with a couple at another table & completely lost sight of her other tables!
Enjoyable early dinner prior to seeing Potted Potter, we all enjoyed our meals, there were 6 of us. Natalie our server was very good and we enjoyed our time at the restaurant and would recommend it to others.
Convenient for day of shopping. Nice to just be able to get in with a reservation and not wait the long lines at foodlife.
All things considered, this was a positive experience. It is, in my opinion, better than some of the high end restaurants in the neighborhood. I just can't spend a few hundred dollars on drinks and dinner for two of us, when we're going to a concert also. Seriously. So this was refreshing. When I first arrived I was very put off by the hostess station being right there in the busy mall, and didn't understand that we had to walk through the "food court" to get to the restaurant. The hostess seemed to think everyone knew what was happening and she was just there to hand out slips of paper. "Greeting" people or "Welcoming" them was not on her job description, apparently. The only thing that kept me feeling good about it while I waited for my wife to park the car (suburbanites beware! It will take you 4 times longer than you think) was the fact that there were lots of people who looked like regulars, quite happy to take their slips and go on in. Food was very good and so were the drinks. The seating was a bit open for my liking, but we did get a booth, so we weren't right out in the traffic, so to speak. All in all, a nice time!
Delicious meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Large serving.
Everything was fine with the food as it was very tasty at the right price. Our server had way too may tables and we felt sorry for her. She did a remarkable job under the circumstances. I just did not care for the feel of the place as it is catered to people who like to rush through things which is not the way I enjoy things.
Service was very good. Nice place to grab a bite to eat before theater. Good variety on menu. Had ribs that are were on special and chicken pot pie. Both were good.
Lunch before a show at the theater across the street. This is our favorite place to eat before a show at the Watertower theater. Food is always great and wait staff is attentive and accommodating.
Our first time, but not our last! Food was delicious & service was fast & friendly. I would definitely recommend!
This restaurant was perfect for our first night in Chicago, noisy with Christmas shoppers, but that’s to be expected when situated in a mall.
We were seated for our 3pm reservation at 2:50 so we had to order from the brunch menu even though the table next to us arrived 5 minutes later and was offered the dinner menu. We asked for the dinner menu when our server stopped at the table but she told us it wasn’t available on Saturdays. Pretty lousy to order something you didn’t really want then see the table next to you enjoying what you planned to order. The burgers were good, server was not.
Waiter was very slow. He apologized three separate times for the wait. It took 23 minutes to get our drinks and we were never offered refills. Then, they would not allow us to order off of the gluten free menu because it is brunch. So, my husband ordered French onion soup without the bread and I order a small side salad. My husband asked if they could toast a gluten free bread slice or bun and they said no. When I worked in the industry, I tried not to tell my customer no on repeat. It always leaves a bad taste. So, no gluten free menu until 3pm on Saturdays. Our reservation was at 1pm. Call ahead if that matters to you. Or better yet, go to Wheat’s End where they care to provide delish dining options for customers w gluten intolerances.
Good and consistent service.
Service was great! Food was fresh and delicious. Was a great break on a busy shopping day.
Mity Nice is one of our favorite places, good variety of good food at decent prices and a friendly welcoming environment.....sometimes a little noisy, but especially at dinner, the "show crowd" thins out after 7:00 pm.
Good place for lunch on Mag Mile. We ate after 1:30 so there were no crowds. Special of the day was breaded pork cutlet - an excellent choice. Special root beers on the menu
We ordered favorites of ours, veggie burger with sweet potato fries and meatloaf with potatoes, and they were served promptly and were excellent as usual. We were in & out of there in less than an hour.
Great service, location and food! Fabulous sit down restaurant in Water Tower Place. Had dinner here before we saw our play.
Went after play at Water Tower Theater. Great service, great recommendations from our server. Also a very good Happy Hour cosmo.
Black Friday was a busy lunch day.
