Steak + Shrimp
new york strip / shrimp scampi (alternative sauce)
pan seared / mustard beurre blanc / shaved brussels sprouts + bacon sauté
Our steaks were dropped on the ground and they had to make us new ones. Which i understand completely, accidents happen. But they rushed to cook the next steaks since we had been waiting for a long time already and they were both rare when they came out. We had ordered the steaks medium and medium well so we had to send them back and wait even longer for them to cook them. They gave us a piece of chocolate cake for free to try and make it better but honestly the cake was terrible, i didn't even eat it.
All in all I was just Unsatisfied with the whole experience, it was our first trip to this location. Needless to say I wouldn’t return nor recommend friends or family.
The people were nice. We had 2 steaks both ordered medium rare. One was probably closer to medium and the other one was closer to raw. We asked to have the raw steak recooked and it came back a little over. The mashed potatoes were like a salt mine. We both ate one bite. We didn't say anything and they took it back afterwards and didn't mention anything about us eating none of it. The broccoli was good and the deserts were outstanding.
We love Mitchell’s for special occasion dining with our family. We enjoyed oysters & colossal shrimp cocktail to start and our steaks, salmon and sea bass were delicious! Dessert is a must! Thank you for a beautiful evening.
Steaks were very charred on the outside and had a burnt taste to them.
Other than that, ambience and service were great.
Very friendly waiter and delicious food. Definitely recommend this lobster tempura!
Awesome staff! Great food! Very Accommodating for the special night that I had planned.
Service great, ambiance great but steak was just so-so
Superb! A cut above. It is pricey, no doubt, but you get what you pay for. Outstanding in all respects. Took clients for dinner and it went over very well indeed.
Very nice steakhouse convenient to the Polaris businesses. The menu is typical steakhouse but it is short on lighter options. The service was excellent.
Steaks not cooked , manager offered to bring fresh sides out when steaks were cooked . Was overcharged for new sides
Service was great. Manager was really cool and personable. We highly recommend.
My wife and I had not been to Mitchell's at Polaris in quite some time so we decided to try it for our wedding anniversary. We arrived at the time of our reservation and were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and we had water and bread quickly.
The waiter was very pleasant and brought our drink order promptly. The by the glass wine list has mostly average wines except for those that are in their special dispenser system. Way Overpriced!
The menu was not as large as I remember it but there were plenty of choices. We both had appetizers in place of salads (Oysters and Shrimp Cocktail) which were good but not outstanding compared to the prices.
For entrees we had the lamb chops and the 7oz filet with sides of broccoli and asparagus. The food was tasty but everything was a bit on the cold side even though it was prepared to medium rare as we had requested. The vegetables were crisp and tasty but they were cold along with the butter that accompanied the asparagus.
Overall we were disappointed. The waiter asked if this was a special occasion and we told him that is was our wedding anniversary. We were hoping to maybe get a free dessert for our anniversary but when we ordered dessert to go we not only had to pay but were charged a to go fee on top of the desserts! First time ever to get charged to take something home. We ordered the chocolate cake and my wife specifically told the waiter what she did not want the cake to be, and he said it was not like that at all. Well the cake was just what she described that she did not want. Tiny layers of cake between tons of a mousse type icing.
For what we spent we could have had a much better meal at several other upscale places that we like to go to.
We won't be going back.
Service was great, but food is overpriced for the quality.
Filet was tough and luke warm. Same with the side dishes. Lamb chops were very fatty.
Food very sub par. Service was good but the food needs work. It was a Monday so the B team was probably in but still the prices don’t change when the B team works.
The steaks were not cooked as requested and the chopped salad was wilted/brown. Not the best presentation from Mitchells. Service was great.
We came here thinking it was still a Cameron Mitchell restaurant, as we had a gift card. I’m surprised that Mitchell left his name on something that he couldn’t oversee, as the steaks were sub par. It seemed like the server/staff knew that the steaks weren’t always cooked to order because she asked us to ‘cut into the center as soon as we got a chance to see if it was cooked properly.’ I’ve never had anyone say that before. Sure enough, both of our steaks were well done (not medium.). We’re not ones to complain, so we ate them. Maybe we should have sent them back, but I’ve never had to send food back in a nice restaurant before. If I knew they wouldn’t accept our gift card and I’d be paying for the overdone steak, I probably would have sent it back. Definitely wouldn’t return....for the prices, Hyde Park does a much better job.
Waygu Steak is outstanding as is the Lobster Bisque
Our waitress, Lillian, was wonderful. However, I was very disappointed in the food. I had the strip steak and a lobster tail. The steak was very hard to cut. The lobster had very little taste and the butter provided just didn’t get it. The dessert was good (creme brûlée). My wife also was disappointed. Her filet was dry and very little Oscar.
I did not want to complain to our waitress about the food. She was very professional and punctual.
It was our first time to Mitchell’s.
Great steaks! Great service! We will be going back again!
It's been a while since we last visited Mitchell's and we needed a change in scenery from our normal go to restaurants. Plus, this was Mother's day and we wanted to splurge a bit. For starters, we ordered the lobster bites and they were very soggy and not crispy. For dinner, I ordered the Waygu strip steak and the family ordered filet's. My strip steak was overcooked and my families steaks were like leather. We didn't complain to the restaurant about the food because it was mothers day and didn't want mom to feel uncomfortable. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience and I expected much better from Mitchells. I never write negative reviews but felt compelled to write this one.
Service was awful. Food took far too long to come and it was cold when it arrived. They were "out" of a number of things are there menu as well.
Our waitress, Heather, was one of the worst we've ever had. She immediately led off with "you're only my fifth table ever." She continuously got orders wrong and we had to correct her a number of times. Not to mention, we clearly told her that my mother is deathly allergic to citrus and a dessert (the Butter Cake) was delivered that had orange in it in the glaze on it (no where was that listed on the menu). I didn't realize Mother's Day meant trying to kill your mother. Not what is to be expected from a "nice" restaurant.
Went in expecting a nice meal and received mediocre food, horrible service, and a nearly $400 bill. Will not be going here again and will certainly steer people away from it in the future.
Not sure what is going on at this restaurant, the experience has definitely dropped a level. Maybe it is related to Covid or hiring issues. Not the same experience that it used to be. Probably a bit overpriced considering. Not sure I would go back anytime soon. Particularly considering the price.
Steaks were alright but did not feel they lived up to “Prime” steak or the expectation for a $50 plus piece of meat
Hard to figure out which was better the amazing food for the outstanding service!
Food was good but baked potato was slightly undercooked (not enough to send back). Lobster bisque was good also but it’s creamy and I prefer chunks of lobster in it. Steak was good, but I have had a better steak for the same price recently @ another restaurant so it was hard not to compare.
Great food. Filets were prepared exactly as ordered. Generous pours on the cocktails.
Took 10 minute to get our water. Server didn’t know anything about the menu. Didn’t order food until almost 25 min in. Steak was perfect in the middle but then was well done on the sides. Feel like we overpaid for the quality we got on food and service.
There was a group of guests over the wall, behind a curtain from our table, they were very loud the entire time we were at dinner. There were times my Husband and I couldn’t here each other because of the volume from the other table. Other than that, the ambiance was great.
My steak wasn’t cooked as I ordered, they brought another cooked correctly and it had absolutely no flavor. They forgot my mushrooms and when they went back and got the mushrooms they were cold. At that point I didn’t even bother saying anything. I was extremely disappointed.
Superb. Delightful. Energizing. Chris, our food service support staff, was integral to our dining experience. He brought smiles to our faces and joy to our hearts.
Outstanding food and ambiance, meal was well prepared exactly as requested, will eat there again.
Best happy hour in town!! The manager is awesome here. You gotta try the happy hour at least once— it’s a steal!
Overall good experience. The service was a little slow and it wasn't a busy evening at all. Food was good.
They made an exception and meet us there applewood smoked Manhattan, the red wine we had with our 10 ounce filet with a wedge that we split - mushrooms and broccoli was all amazing.
The servers stored to tell me how nice I looked and that they loved my dress. I have never experienced that before, and it really helped make our night special!
Would give the food an excellent rating except for the side of potatoes was not up to the usual quality. Seemed like they sat around before being served. Otherwise, all the other food and drinks were excellent!!
The food was good and the server was very nice. Husband and I were celebrating our 30 year anniversary. At this price I expect extraordinary and honestly I could have had the same dining experience about anywhere for half or less of the price. Husband and I agreed that we were underwhelmed and will probably not go back at those prices. I can get generic just about anywhere.
