Great anniversary dinner!
Unfortunately the kitchen cooked one of our party’s medium rare steak medium well. It was sent back to the kitchen and they provided a new steak that was seared well done on the exterior crust and raw throughout much like ahi tuna is served. The steak was sent back once more and it was returned dry and well done. The waitress was wonderful but the kitchen seems to have an inability to cook steak correctly when an error is pointed out. The other 3 in our party had nicely Cooked meals but unfortunately the kitchen seemed offended the steak was sent back and provided poorly cooked substitutes. We were charged for the incorrectly cooked steak even though it was not eaten.
Food was amazing. Shrimp cocktail and horseradish was perfect. Shrimp were huge and flavorful. Filet and shrimp scampi was delicious. Our server Nicole was very attentive Enjoyed our night out!
This dinner was very underwhelming. We thought we would try a new steakhouse and wish we had not gone to this one. When spending almost $400 on dinner, we expect it to be prepared correctly. And this being a steakhouse, we expected that the chef knew how to prepare steak to order. He messed up both of our orders. And when we asked if the waitress could please take it back and correct the issue, it was brought back to our table and we were told that it was cooked correctly and we should just cut around the over cooked parts. This meant that my 10 ounce filet mignon was actually more like a 6 ounce filet mignon even though I paid for the 10 ounce. The appetizers and side dishes were OK but nothing worth noting. The pictures on open table are not at all true to presentation. My filet Oscar had very little Bearnaise or crab. And, the chef removed the Oscar add on when he brought my steak back out, so I did not get to enjoy what I paid for in that regard as well. Again, we would expect a lot more for the price point. The service was very prompt. Our waitress was very kind—you could tell she felt bad for having to deliver the chef’s rude and incorrect response. The ambience was quiet and the restaurant looked very nice. But this is not a good steakhouse. I definitely suggest Jeff Ruby‘s Ruth’s Chris if you are looking for a well prepared steak and a wonderful experience. Once this chef learns how to prepare steak as ordered, and learns how to treat his patrons, it will be much closer to the value.
This restaurant never disappoints. Consistently great cocktails, food, service and atmosphere.
Took a while to be greeted
Steak inconsistencies
Bar service merely adequate
Experienced racial profiling by management due to being African American. Will not spend my money ever again here.
This restaurant used to be a lock for a great meal in a great atmosphere. Now, not so much. We were surrounded by baseball hats and hoodies, illustrating the current ownership and management teams contempt for a fine dining environment. Food wasn’t bad in general but it certainly live up to historical expectations from when this was a Cameron Mitchell owned/operated establishment. I will not be surprised if this place closes permanently sometime soon...all the mojo is gone.
Thank you Nicole.
My 10oz filet was cooked to a perfect medium. Delicious meal. Mac and cheese was a pretty good side as well. Nice cheesecake for dessert. I really enjoyed our dinner.
Food was amazing, bartender was kind of rude. Service was good.
My husband and I went to Mitchell’s for our Anniversary dinner. They made it very special and the food was amazing!
The service was poor
and the food came out cold. The manager was just as rude as the waitress until he checked the temperature of the steak and mushrooms for his self to witness how unexceptable the temps were. We never eat here again and definitely will not recommend. Worse birthday dinner ever.
They really take care of you when you come in to dine at Mitchell's Steakhouse downtown. They listen to you need and make sure you are enjoying your self. They making sure you are safe during this virus. The food is done to perfection.
Very good filet mignon. Would recommend to anyone who asks
Good service. I enjoyed the food and the time with my wife. For the price I thought it would be a little more food.
Dinner was nice, server was good, as was the pace. We were celebrating a birthday and didn't get any verbal acknowledgment of it. We did happen to notice, after looking at the menu for several minutes, that it did say happy birthday on it in between categories, but almost missed it. Not that big of a deal I just don't understand why open table restaurants receive this information and generally do nothing with it. A little vocal happy birthday is always nice to hear.
Extremely thoughtful staff and restaurant! Decorated the table and made a custom birthday menu that said “Happy a birthday” on the top!!!
The food was what you would and should expect from a high end steakhouse. Solid apps.
Crisp salads. Excellent cuts of meat. Cocktails were well made and wine list was above average. I didn't like that I was not allowed to substitute a NY Strip for a Filet Mignon on their special menu, despite my willingness to pay the $1 extra that it cost on the ala-carte menu. Silly rule that should never have been enforced. Also, the lighting was way too bright in the dining room. Bar area was nice, but I felt like I was on stage in the main dining room. Bring those little lower bright lights down 5 shades of intensity. You don't need them. You've got a beautiful ceiling to show off, and dark mood lighting makes everyone feel more special in a high end joint.
We went there for our 33 year wedding anniversary. The steaks and service were both fantastic
Generally very good. We all had steaks and they were inconsistently cooked. One that was ordered as a medium filet was more rare than another that was ordered medium rare. One that was ordered medium well was well done. I expect better from a well established steakhouse like Mitchells. Overall quality of dinner was still very good.
loved the food especially the shrimp scampi and our server was attentive
Never a disappointment
Steak Oscar wasn't great. Calamari , salad ,Mac and cheese , baked potato and big chocolate cake great! Old beautiful ex bank decorated in weird southwestern colors
Server was great and friendly!!! Very quite and helpful!!!
It truly was a great dining experience. I had only ever eaten mitchells steakhouse one other time at the polaris location, and i felt at both places were very good value for my money. Its a fine dining restaurant with fine dining prices, but I truly feel like the value i get here is worth it from both the quality of food and beverages alike. I would happily come back again for a nice date night.
My waitress was amazing, my food came out perfect and hot/fresh. My Pomegranate martini was amazing👌🏾
We were seated in the back party room with 5 other full tables while the front of the restaurant was wide open and it was very awkward felt like I had to whisper to talk to my girlfriend. The drinks and the service was fantastic.
The food was very disappointing for a Mitchell restaurant. My filet tasted like pure salt I couldn't finish it, the amount of salt was just too much. Overall a below average experience based on past visits to Mitchell restaurants. Will not be my first choice for dinner in the near future.
Food was great and service was perfect! Definitely a great place for a date night!
It was good! Food is always good, but the food took a longer time than usual.
This was a great experience and I recommend this play to everyone
The food was excellent and the meat was cooked perfectly. 'The Regular is a highly recommended cocktail as is the 'Mango Sangria.'
Did not like at all being seated in back room, it was dark, noisy kitchen and workers talking loudly right next to it. Very disappointed in environment. Front of restaurant was very beautiful but we didnt get to experience it. Did have reservation.
I was afraid that since the restaurant was a long-standing icon that it may have had a little "wear and tear", but everything was like new and kept up very well. It was a great new experience for my fiancé that she will never forget.
The most amazing experience ever ! I will be back next year to celebrate my 30th birthday! You guys are amazing
Great food with great service. Restaurant week deal was outstanding.
Great ambiance and service is outstanding. The food is good but not anything out of the ordinary.
Mitchell's has a good name. But, I was disappointed. Service was just OK, and the food average as well. My $40 sea bass was not fresh. We ordered their "famous" chocolate cake for desert. It was either stale or freezer burnt. In any case it was far from moist. Cake isn't supposed to be hard.
There are a lot of good choices for fine dining in Columbus. Would NOT come back here.
Excellent, great ambiance, food and service. It is expensive, but you get your value. Recommended!
If I could give 0 stars I would. I usually do not post reviews on companies even if the service was bad but the service I received last night 1/28/21 was absolutely terrible. It was date night I decided to participate in restaurant week which we've never done before. We also never been to Mitchells so we decided to give it a try. The inside is very nice I will say that but it went downhill when we had a server who constantly sniffled literally every two seconds while she talked and she barely had her mask up with covid waitresses should really wear medical mask but whatever. I explained to the waiter it was our first time dining there and doing restaurant week and asked if she could explain a few things on the menu which she did. The problem was her attitude was TERRIBLE it was like she had an attitude the moment she stepped to our table. We ordered our food when a different waitress brought my food she set it down so quick and walked away so fast before the plate completely hit the table. My portion of food was so small that it should've been on the kids menu although my 4 year old wouldn't even have gotten full off of it. Finally when our waitress came back (btw she barely came over to check on us) I started off by saying "I hate to be that type of person but I was not expecting my meal to be this small especially for the price we're paying can I please get something else" from there she got so mad that with every word she spoke she shrugged her shoulders everytime in an oh well manner then told me my meal was a "hell of a deal" and that's they can't do nothing about it. I said "well I don't want this plate and I'd like to get the pasta instead" she snatched the plate then walked away. While she's talking she had the nerve to pull her mask down as if she wasn't already sick and sniffling but then her nose was red on top of that. My boyfriend asked her to pull her mask back up due to her sniffles and she got so upset and rolled her neck. See the rest on Google
