I typically don’t write a review but I have to applaud the chef on how perfect the home-made dressing on my Caesar salad tasted. It’s the first time in a very long time that the dressing was outstanding. I will be talking about that to my friends.

I've enjoyed numerous meals at Mitchell's Fish Market - Rochester, not only recently on social occasions, but also a few years ago when my Oakland University faculty colleagues and I dined there for numerous lunch and evening business-related dinners. The food selections are plentiful and varied, including many seafood-type entrees of course, but there are also several beef, poultry, and vegetarian dishes on the both the main and appetizer menus. Portion sizes are ample, and the prices are not exorbitant. The restaurant has a nice ambience that matches its Web site description as featuring a "casual elegance dining experience." Parking is easy since the restaurant is located within the Village of Rochester Hills "outdoor mall." Highly recommended!

The service was very slow (we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant), and the waitress was a bit forgetful, but the food was AMAZING. The slowness of the service does make me hesitant to come back when it’s busy.

We were celebrating an anniversary. This is the first time we've everything we had was cooked perfectly. We had the Prime Rib/lobster combo, very reasonably priced which included smashed red skins and asparagus. A key lime pie for dessert. Plus, the bottle of Silver Palm Cabernet was a great choice. I would so this again!!!

Akeisha was our server. She could not have been more friendly and her service could not have been better. I had the grilled salmon, smashed red potatoes and fresh vegetables. Food was hot and perfectly cooked. The fresh bread at the beginning of the meal was outstanding, and my friend and I shared a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. It was a wonderful evening that was really topped off by our excellent server!

We went out to dinner to celebrate my Birthday. Upon entering the restaurant we had mentioned this to the host as well as the manager who escorted us to our table outside on the patio. Jackie was our server for the evening. She must have not been told that we were celebrating a birthday because nothing was mentioned from her. We had both ordered the Brown Derby old fashions which were good but a little sweet for our liking. I had ordered a bowl of the seafood gumbo before our entrees came out which was great as usual! We had mentioned that my girlfriend had a shellfish Allergy so there would be no cross contamination before ordering. She had ordered the Summer fields salad with a side of red skinned smashed potatoes and broccoli. I had ordered the 8oz filet, medium rare Oscar style with a half order of king crab as well as a side of smashed red skinned potatoes and a side of broccoli as well. After ordering the manager had came out to our table to explain that they wouldn’t be able to accommodate the mashed potatoes for my girlfriend due to the potatoes being steamed in the same steamer as the shellfish in the restaurant. We appreciated him informing us of this so she replaced them with the roasted redskins which were very good. He had informed me that they were unable to accommodate my filet Oscar style because the kitchen didn’t make the hollandaise anymore except on certain holidays which was a big disappointment. I’ve dined at Mitchell’s in the past for years and loved having the my steak served oscar style or having the Seabass broiled, Oscar style. Our food came out and everything was to our satisfaction. My only complaint was the mashed potatoes came out Luke warm. They were promptly replaced with a fresh side. We both ordered another round of drinks. Katie ordered a traditional old fashioned which was great and I ordered a Spanish coffee to go with our shark fin pie. My Spanish coffee came out cold with no caramelized sugar rim and with no whipped cream.

Drinks and Food was good but service was a bit slow and it was SUPER cold and freezing in the restaurant....EVERY diner was asking them to turn up the air-conditioner and they said they couldn't make it any warmer. So glad I had warm jackets in the car.

Fish sandwich was outstanding. We had the best waiter who was patient with us as we talked and reminisced instead of hurrying to order. Our waiter was professional, well-versed in the menu and spot-on with great service.

TOLD SERVER WE HAD TO BE OUT AT 7:30 FOR A SHOW. FOOD WAS DELIVERED VERY SLOWLY. ALSO TOLD SERVER IT WAS OUR FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY. SHE NODDED. THERE WAS NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT IT WAS HIS BIRTHDAY WHEN DINNER WAS OVER. THAT SURPRISED US. WE HAD TO RUSH OUT TO GET TO OUR SHOW. VERY STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE. ALSO WHEN MY HUSBAND GAVE HER OUR LANDRY'S SELECT CLUB CARD AFTER HE HAD PAID OUR BILL SHE STATED IT WAS TOO LATE AND SHE COULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO GET US CREDIT.

We both had the twin lobster tails - they were cooked perfectly and very tasty! Carrot cake for dessert was very good (moist and the cream cheese frosting was excellent - I like my carrot cake with some nuts in the batter - this one had no nuts). Our server, Nick, was excellent, right on top of things! We sat on the patio - was a lovely evening to eat alfresco. I am a Landry's member and had 2 rewards that I could use to get $50 off. The managers both remembered us and stopped by to say hello! It is a very welcoming place. What a wonderful meal!!

Not great for Mother's Day but could not get reservation elsewhere. Kitchen was backed up and our service was new to the job, just four days in. The total time spent there was 2 hours. We had my two grandsons 3 and 5 and that was too much time in one spot. I have been there other times and the food and service has been great.

My swordfish was the worst that I have ever had, looked like a Patty as opposed to a steak. It was over cooked and dry. I would have sent it back but waited an hour and a half for it to come the first time. I understand is was Mother’s Day so the slowness was expected but not the quality of the food. Wait staff did the best they could with the shortness of staff.

A server that has been working 3 days should not take a party of over 2 or 3. Constantly reminding the server of what is needed and waiting 2 hours for dinner that was not complicated is unacceptable. The manager was not that much better. TRAIN MORE! DO BETTER! Or JUST QUIT!

The food was quite good - service was a bit frustrating. Were told when we were seated that our server would be right out. We then waited for over ten minutes while the two staff at the welcome desk gossiped and chatted. I finally had to go over to ask when our server would be coming. After she came all was well but the front desk staff needs to step up and help. Did not make a good impression.
