Mitchell's Fish Market - Louisville
Grilled, baked parmesan crust
Seemed to be very over priced for what we had.
Our server was outstanding!!! Such a difficult time to serve outdoors while wearing a mask. He had a great attitude and was very attentive!
Pleasant outdoor seating with an attentive wait staff and excellent food
We decided we would like to attempt to eat out at a nice restaurant for our 27th wedding anniversary. While we have supported many establishments during the pandemic on a carryout basis, we had not dined in. Open table accommodated our relatively last minute request. Upon arrival, we were immediately showed to our table.
Our server was pleasant and generally attentive. It was kind of weird to not have any salt or pepper on the table but I can understand why not. By the time I realized I would like some additional seasoning I was done eating LOL! We each had an adult beverage, an entrée and one large salad. The bread is pretty tasteless 😒 Next time we might actually try the carry out for a family of four price per the menu at $65.
Our food was delicious. However our service was sub par. We had reservations and were placed in a back corner booth. The booth was fine, understanding social distancing, we could talk without bothering anyone. However it appeared there was only one waiter, I did see a possible second waiter at a distant table, to several tables. Service was really slow, we asked for salt and he came back 10 minutes later. We had to continually ask for water refills. He offered bread but never came back with it. Fifteen minutes later he passed us and we had to wave to get his attention and asked for the bread. The food took a lot longer than we expected. There were several staff walking around and moving glassware but no one else checked with us or even acknowledged we were there.
We will be back because the food was delicious and hope the service issue is fixed.
We enjoy this restaurant - the staff is wonderful and the food is prepared perfectly
May i ask why you suggest that your fish not be grilled? This is the first time in all my Dining experience anywhere that i have ever been told this. I understand that i could have still had the fish grilled, you were not refusing just suggesting, but why? About the service, the waiter seemed like he was always in a hurry.
Great service. Food was also good. The shrimp pasta and blackened tilapia was just enough. Never had to ask for anything.
Courtney was our server — she went above and beyond. The food was delicious, I had the Cobia broiled. Wife had the salmon prepared the same.
The seafood was great, and the service was some of the best we have experienced lately.
The server was attentive without being intrusive and very nice. We appreciate your menu and consistent freshness. Thank You
Delicious meal and great service
My grilled shrimp appeared and tasted as if it never got near a grill. No taste, no grill marks, no warmth. Very disappointed. The waitress was great.
Everything was very nice, server polite and at tentative , food was delicious but would have enjoyed more if hot . Both mine and husbands was warm to cool
Very nice experience at Mitchell’s. Kudos to our server Courtney. It’s probably our go to restaurant. Cannot wait until fresh oysters are back on the menu. And the clam chowder.
58th wedding Anniversary
$91 for 3 entrees and an app. Food was almost an hour to get. Server checked on us once. My wifes order was wrong.
The restaurant is currently open under Covid-19 restrictions so the experience is obviously different than the norm. I would definitely recommend Mitchell's as a dining option. Our service was slower than normal presumably due to the much smaller than normal staff on hand, but we everyone should expect dining experiences these days to be a little sub-par from the norm. We have eaten at the restaurant numerous times outside of the current restrictions and found it to be quite enjoyable and recommendable to all.
We are new residents from Florida and love seafood being originally from Massachusetts I found out you were taking reservations. We have never been there before. The service was awesome from the hostess to the Waiter(Chris) was excellent. Thank you for making my wife and I experience great. We will be back
Birthday celebration! A good time was had by all nine of us!!!
Beautiful outdoor seating!
I was disappointed. Typically very good place to eat. I do understand places are just starting to open back up. They appeared to have plenty of service available for no more tables that they had open. Service was just not that good and food was just fair. Was not really worth the value that night. Again, love this place but Saturday night they did not live up to the quality they usually are. At one point waiting on our server to show back up, another was walking by. Asked for some assistance he looked at us and just walked by.
Disappointing visit this time to what used to be a solid mainstay for a dinner date. The stuffed salmon filet was way too salty. Happy hour specials don't carry over to the dining room, which is ridiculous. Water glasses were not refilled.
After months in quarantine, we chose Mitchell's for our night out. We were one of three tables in the restaurant. Our server was lousy. He spent much of the time talking to another table and when he was at our table, he would unilaterally bring up the protests and the political issues surrounding them. Not what we were looking for on our night out with our 10 year old.
Food came out cold. Waited 10 minutes to get my glass of wine. No disposable menus, no disposable silverware. Despite the fact this has been a restaurant we have enjoyed in the past, we will not be returning.
Poor service, mediocre food. Overall, it was very disappointing. Bread was best part of the meal and we had to ask several times to get it served.
Menu was abbreviated and the food was only average. Pricey for average food. Nice place we've been to often just not as good as usual.
Enjoyed a nice 25th Anniversary meal today at Mitchell's Fish Market. The house salad was fresh and delicious and the scallops were AMAZING!
Wonderful food and a great value for seafood. Really enjoyed the anniversary dinner. We will be back and this time we are bringing family members!!!
Great to get out again... good food a d excellent service
had a great time be back soon food and drinks where very good
Great food and service. Highly recommend.
It’s been a while since we last ate at a Mitchell’s. I remembered it being a good experience. This one was very disappointing. We were seated promptly and our server greeted us promptly. He brought our drinks out and kept our water glasses filled. We were never offered bread and finally asked for some after our salads came. We ordered appetizer shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were small and rubbery. The salads were fine. We waited quite a while for our entrees which we didn’t mind given it was a Friday night. However, the server only brought 3 of 4 entrees. It was nearly 10 minutes before the 4th entree came. Unfortunately by then the other 3 were cold. We were traveling and didn’t have time to wait so we ate them as is, paid our check and left. The entree food was similar to what we would have gotten at a Red Lobster. Simply disappointing. Probably won’t go back. For what we spent we could have done much better.
Great food. Great experience.
It was an unnecessary 2 1/2 hour dinner, we finally has our order taken after asking a couple times for our server. Apparently he walked out and they didn't know it. The lady who took over was great. The food was good once we got it.
Jordyn was great as well as the food. Overall a great experience on our first visit here.
Mitchell's is an exercise in the principle that if you've forgotten why you stopped going somewhere, you'll remember as soon as you go back.
Poor service from an inexperienced waiter who really needed a minder (he made sure we knew his name "if we needed anything" but never delivered the bread that was the first thing he offered us, and frequently dashed through our section without looking at our table); food that took forty-five minutes to arrive and clearly spent more time on the prep station in the kitchen than it did at our table, to judge by the lukewarm rice and cold green beans; and being seated under an air-conditioning vent running full blast despite freezing temperatures outside.
Had this been Kingfish or Long John Silver's I wouldn't be quite so critical, but when you are charging me $28 an entree then serving it late and cold, and my experience so far that night tells me it's not worth the effort to have it remade, there's a fundamental issue here.
We had great service, food was excellent.
We love this place!!!
I truly hate to leave a scathing review, but the facts are the facts:
- 6:00 open table reservation
- Seated quickly. Bread on table. Drink order on target.
- Ordered dinner - never saw waitress again.
- 35 minutes later food rushed to table against a now busy backdrop of customers and activity.
- Stuffed lobster and shrimp - 1st bite almost raw. Daughters pecan crusted trout - burnt. Wife's crab legs looked as if someone else had already eaten them. Many were empty and looked shelled. The sides were room temp to cold (finger in middle of potato test.)
- Tried in vain to get someone's attention to the point of small rabbit chases, "Waitress, Sir, Anyone?????"
- Went back to table promptly got ready and left.
- Spoke with manager. Was not rude. In normal tone voiced displeasure. She offered "I'm Sorrries."
- Final words "Me, too.
Happy Birthday - looks like Longhorn Steakhouse. BTW - polar opposite experience.
Finally: Unfortunately, it was such an epic fail I probably won't be back. With so many local options at the same or better caliber, it's just not worth more then this. And it may be the only time it has ever happened - but this time, it happened to us.
Sorry to say, that was our experience.
Ate in the bar. Great server! Would do it again!
