Mitchell's Fish Market - Livonia Ratings and Reviews
Went here for dinner after not wanting to cook. Food was just mundane. We have been to this location about 10-15 times over the last two years, and have never had a bad experience. My crab cake was bland and soggy, wife’s fish wa nothing special although our waitress was exceptional with her dietary restrictions, very accommodating. My in laws vegetables were bland and don’t believe were portioned correctly but were happy with their sea bass. It will be awhile before we come back just because for the value, we can get better food elsewhere. The entire staff were great, just disappointed in the food.
The food was wonderful. The calamari is a delightful crunchy and perfectly salted entree. The shrimp appetizer is also wonderful with a little heat. The main courses were all excellent from the stuffed flounder to the rice bowls. Then, the best desert in the world a shared shark fin ice cream.
Our waiter was kind and attentive. Even though they were extremely busy the service was terrific.
Decided to take my Wife here and the experience was great. We had reservations so there was absolutely no wait time when we got there. The service was great as well as the food. The menu was selective and the price is very reasonable. Will most definitely be back again and again.
Although our server went above and beyond for a member of our party that has a plant-based diet, it would be wonderful if there were a couple of options on the menu for vegans. I would suggest an appetizer or soup addition to the menu that is plant-based. From now on we will look at menus online BEFORE making reservations.
We love going to Mitchell's. The food is fresh, and they will prepare it how you'd like. The staff are professional, and yet friendly as well. They always make sure you feel welcome. It has become our home away from home. Whenever we bring friends there, or tell them about Mitchell's, they all love it too!
That place fell off bog time service was bad we didnt get water or bread on the table we placed an order for appetizer we ate finished still no water food quality wasent as good as it used to be the best thing i had there last night was the charbroiled oyster
Visited Mitchell's to celebrate a birthday. Kelly took care of our table and was very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent, including complimentary creme brulee for dessert. Floor manager came by and asked how everything was. We picked this restaurant because we always have excellent food and service. Would recommend!
The food and service were average. A lot of the seafood is farmed. I wish they had more wild caught options. The server asked me if we would like fresh bread. I hesitated before answering because I didn't care for any, but I didn't know if the rest of my group would like some. The server said, "It's free," as though cost was the reason I had hesitated. Whatever. Overall, it's a little nicer than a Red Lobster.
We typically come to Mitchell's two-three times a year for birthdays. We came on Sunday to celebrate our son's 11th birthday. We were grossly disappointed. Our service was slow, waiting a long time between appetizers and entrees. We waited for missing items. The crab legs were too soft to crack and covered in butter. The spinach salad with apples and goat cheese, had one slice of apple and a dime size dollap of goat cheese. We waited to have the dishes cleared and asked for box and were handed a box and a crumpled up bag. It was our son's birthday and he wanted dessert, but after waiting for 15 minutes to get our dishes cleared, our waiter slapped down the bill and walked away. It was not how you want to celebrate with a $150 crappy meal. We asked twice to speak to a manager with no luck. I guess our 7 year tradition of coming for Beth day celebrations dies here.
We have wanted to try Mitchell's Fish Market at this location for quite some time now. All the stars finally aligned and the three of us made reservations for 3pm. When we arrived, those
reservations were acknowledged and a friendly hostess took us to our table. Our server was
outstanding and made our dining experience fun. The food was excellent. All three of us
were very pleased with our selections. The manager came by to say hello and we appreciated that. We will definitely be back!
We had a family dinner (6 adults and a baby) on a Friday night at Mitchell’s in Livonia. Our food was very tasty and I enjoyed a house margarita. The calamari was top notch. We had a great dining experience, but if I were to split hairs, there are a couple things that could be improved upon. Our waiter offered to take our orders for “cocktails, beer, wine, mineral water, or bottled water” and neither offered nor brought regular tap water. Also, our appetizers were brought to the table and when he came back check on us, then offered a bread basket after we were nearly done with the apps. It just felt a little disjointed. Dinner was very good and we will definitely be back, just thought two service items were a little wonky.
Overall a positive experience. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. The crab, spinach and artichoke dip appetizer was brought to the table quickly and was delicious. The main entrees were also prepared well and everyone remarked that the food was very tasty.
After wanting to eat at Mitchell's for a while, the overall experience was less than stellar. The unenthusiastic hostess set a mediocre tone. Our server was amazing, though, and that was a plus. The calamari app was very good...crispy, light and tender. The stuffed cod was not bad but not great. The grapefruit basil martini sounded more interesting than it tasted. My husband liked the salmon but was not impressed with the vegetables.
We went for New Years Eve. We’ve gone on holidays before and it’s been excellent. This time it was just ok. Our server wasn’t very good or knowledgeable. It was sort of like ordering at a cheap chain, not an upscale place. He didn’t have suggestions, couldn’t answer questions about the menu. Didn’t bring stuff when we requested it. The food was tasty, but expensive. We recently went to another restaurant and our bill was a little less than Mitchell’s but the food and overall experience were far superior.
