Live Maine Lobster
I have had good food at Mitchells but not today at lunch. Possibly because of understaffing because of Covid, but the fish tacos were fishy, the French fries were over salted and possibly refried and the crab was served with a huge lump of redskin mashed potatoes that looked like they were left over (and possibly were) from Thanksgiving dinner the day before. The server was wonderful. Hope this was a one/ time aberration, because their lunches are on the expensive side!
We had a good time for an early dinner with drinks. Our waiter Jeff said it was his first day but didn’t seem like it as all went well, he was able to answer our questions, and all refills were timely. We like it there and will definitely return.
The restaurant was short on customers, but to be expected for a Monday. Excellent food and service, but a lack of choices for side dishes for main courses.
Waitress was outstanding. She was friendly, very knowledgable of the menu and very prompt attending to our needs.
Not as good as I expected. But OK. Too$$$$ for OK food.
Mitchell’s is the best place to get fresh fish in the South Hils of Pittsburgh!
Service was good
Very pleasant experience
My food was delivered raw. They replaced the price that was raw with a piece 1/3 the size and tasted terrible. Very frustrated!
I find that Mitchell's in the Galleria is very accommodating when I have been there and asked for something extra or changed in my food selection. I do believe that dessert, in this case a chocolate cake, should be served more at room temperature than cold. Since it was not busy, server checked on us regularly. I will be back.
Go to place for fresh seafood in south hills, a favorite on Fridays, always something good on the menu and reasonably priced, looking forward to when the menu is at full strength when this is over
Excellent server - Dean. They provided a great birthday dessert. Lobster tail special was perfect.
We love eating at Mitchell’s. Food is always excellent. Wait staff is outstanding.
The salads and soup were delicious but my seafood platter was a big disappointment. My crabcake was fishy tasting and I could not eat it, my broiled salmon was supposed to be blackened and wasn't and although the shrimp were large and plentiful they had little seasoning. Our server did not come back to check on us until my husband finished his meal so I couldn't even complain about the crabcake until then.
I remember this place being much better years ago. I feel that the prices we paid would have been better spent at Capital Grille.
A really nice lunch breaking away to enjoy some very good food!
The food was delicious
First time on the patio -- we really enjoyed it. It feels isolated from traffic.
I always go there when it is a special occasion because I know I will never be disappointed. Food is always excellent as well as the service.
Lunch was great!—
Food was delicious! Jim, our server was excellent. Gave us our space but was very attentive and accommodating! Ask for Jim if you go !
I had the fish and chips. The fish was hot and crispy. The French fries were not!! The Cole slaw was slight in size. We go here ( prior to pandemic) at least 10 times a year. Twice since the “ reopening”. I miss the Ahi Tuna bowl and the more expanded menu.
Great fish tacos and salmon . The carrot cake is to die for! The happy hour menu has great deals, too!
This was our second visit since Covid dining restrictions have been lifted. The cedar plank salmon is sooo good! Only made better by the outstanding personal service Hannah provided.
They changed the kids Mac & Cheese due to COVID, and now offer a $0.95 box of Kraft for $8.00!
Sanitizer made table icky.
Calamari overcooked by chef.
Server was very pleasant and friendly but serving time was very slow. This has happened to us before so it’s likely not related to COVID.
My wife and I were celebrating my birthday on this occasion. The food is always great, but what made our evening a wonderful experience was our waitress DOLORES! She is truly in class by herself, Dolores welcomed us in a manner that made my wife and I feel that we knew her for a long time. She waited on us with exceptional skills and feeling, we can’t express enough how great Dolores made our evening. Please make sure she receives the recognition that she deserves!!! Thank You Peggy and Tom Rohe
Because of COVID 19, their beer supply was quite limited. They ran out of Miller Lite after 3 bottles were served. The restaurant followed all protocol for indoor dining, but it was basically empty.
Went to Mitchells to celebrate the end of radiation. food and service were excellent and we felt quite safe although we ate indoors.
Food was fast, delicious and fresh. Service was perfect.
We loved our meals and drinks! The patio was lovely and it felt so nice to enjoy a meal out with my husband after all these months. We will definitely be back!
We had excellent service and even better food! It’s always an easy choice to go to Mitchell’s!
My girlfriend and I had reservations for Mitchell’s, for which we were very excited for as it has been one of our favorite restaurants. When we walked in we were a little confused as to where to go to be seated for there wasn’t a hostess at the door. We proceeded towards the bar to ask one of the women there to help guide us, to which the one very rudely said they were not seating anyone at the bar even though we were not even trying to sit there. When we told her we had a reservation and were just confused as to where to go she continued to be rude and disrespectful. Not only was she rude but two other women nearby did so little as to even help show us where to go and instead simply ignored us. When we were finally seated we were nervous for how the rest of our experience would be but it was completely turned around with our waiter, I believe his name was Noah. He was so sweet and efficient, he truly made our dining experience what we remembered it to be. The food was also excellent so in all the experience was worth it. I understand it is a stressful time but to walk into a restaurant and immediately be greeted so horribly shows poorly on the establishment. I hope things become more organized on the front end in the future. As for the actual waiters, ours was amazing and I noticed the waiters serving those around us were just as incredible.
Horrible service! Manager was rude upon arrival, server was overwhelmed but he NEVER helped her or apologized to the tables. 30 minutes to get drinks, three of the drinks were the same but made completely different! Took 1.15 to get entrees. Tables were not cleared, put down next course with dirty dishes on the table still. Would never go back, bill over $400 for that kind of service NO THANK YOU! I work in hospitality so I FULLY understand the struggles of current situation but a simple I apologize from the manager would have gone a long way....we are trying to support your business’
Restaurant was very under staffed. Bar drinks took longer than 20-30 minutes. Side dishes came out cold. Waitress was at least friendly and apologetic. Manager never came to check on table.
Unfortunately, Mitchell’s hasn’t adapted to Covid dining well. A party of 3, took over 2 hours to dine. Initially were seated on time, greeted by staff but 45 minutes for drinks(only glasses of wine). We ordered all courses upon drink arrival, salads arrived timely and were well made and tasted great. Though an appetizer that was ordered never arrived. Entrees arrived after a long wait, but they all were cool and we had to wait 10 minutes for butter for lobster tail entrees. Ordered a second drink round when food arrived, they never came while eating- had to send them back because we were ready for our check. Though the food had great taste, the lack of being served until it was cool ruined the meal. It seems they didn’t have enough staff at bar, wait staff and back of the house. It was a birthday celebration that was not much to celebrate.
Had a nice dinner night with my sister!
Came here for restaurant week. Had a good array of choices to have a 3 course meal. Tossed salad with vinaigrette had delicious dates in it. Good portion of salmon served with sticky rice and stir fried vegetables. Their signature Key Lime pie dessert was so good!
Also had bread with meal. Service was outstanding and Co-Vid 19 regulations observed.
Great place for seafood.
We had a great meal for restaurant week!
Outstanding food quality. Menu was limited but overall choices were varied.
Birthday Lunch (outdoors amidst Covid)
Little disappointed this time. Our appetizer of choice was not available and one of our entrees had to be sent back and exchanged for another meal. My past experiences there have always been positive, so chalking this up to another 2020 disappointment.
