Excellent fresh seafood. Good service. Good value.
Food sadly didn't meet previous experiences. Everything had the sense of lacking care in preparation or having been done at the rush, this included the underbake bread through to the entree. The particular table we were sat at was in dire need of repair. Was also every disappointed they did not seat my guest on his arrival, and despite a reservation there was a brief delay as they looked for a clear table.
Edward, the server, was a delight however and easily the highlight.
However, it was (apart from Edward) a visit marred by a sense of a business going through the motions and lacking care in the kitchen.
Excellent service and excellent food - as always.
Good food. Good service. Good meeting place.
Very nice dining experience. Really great Happy Hour selection for a couple of drinks at the bar before dinner. Skilled and friendly bartender.
Outstanding seafood choices, too many for one visit. Have to come back. Great taste. Friendly server, nice table for our anniversary.
My wife and I met at Mitchell 's 12 years ago. It has always had a special meaning for us and never disappoints. The fish is always excellent. The service was attentive and professional. The noise level was good. Although the restaurant was full we could easily carry on a conversation.
The food was very good. The service was great. Yummy desserts too.
I was with a party of five. We were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant seemed moderately busy. Our server was very good, and very busy, however. The only place that showed up in the way we were served was that she had to wait what seemed a little long for bar service. The food was very good from the testimony of those at the table, and one appeared to be a standout crab leg dinner. Only one person had desert, and he raved about it. All in all, a pleasant evening.
We brought a New York friend who doesn’t eat beef and thought this a perfect place for her. Everything was wonderful and we could sit and talk comfortably. Our server was exceptional!! I wish they were all like her in all restaurants.
My friends, wife, and I enjoyed our dinner. Our server Tia was delightful.
This is my second time eating at this restaurant. Everything was great - service, food, no wait time to be seated, I will eat here again.
Service was terribly slow
Always a good, healthy choice for lunch or dinner.
Our server Deidre (sorry if I misspelled her name) was great! We ordered a bottle of White Zinfandel that was pretty tasty, well worth the price! I ordered the perfect pair but the lobster tail was over cooked; had to ask for drawn butter because it was so dry. Not a big deal though, we could tell the kitchen was busy! We will definitely come back soon!
We were there to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was very full. The food was very good and there was a particularly good seafood selection. The décor was nice, but the noise level was somewhat high for an establishment of this caliber. Music playing over the speakers only added to the din. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
First time at Mitchell’s. Food was fantastic! Had Shanghai style salmon. Sauce was wonderful. Waiter was pleasant and professional. Can’t wait to go back.
The food was simply delicious as always, service was excellent , will definitely return again
What a shame. This place has really gone down in the last year. I ordered crab legs and wife ordered twin lobster tails. Legs were advertised 1.5 lbs for 43.00. I received 3 legs with no claws. It was 1 lb at the most. No complaints on the wife's lobster. We ordered the mini shark fin pie to split for desert. We have had this several times before and it was always big enough to share. The waitress brought the pie and it was so small, I don't think we would have gotten 2 bites each for 5.00. I sent it back and was offered nothing else. This place does not care about pleasing the customer. We drive 35 miles to go here but will never again. This is the third bad experience in a year. The manager Carmen is a total waste. She just struts her stuff around like she is someone special. I can't believe corporate keeps her. Total bill with 2 drinks 113.00. Not cheap by any imagination. There's better choices for seafood in Cleveland. Don't spend your hard earned money here.
Expensive for what was offered on the menu versus what was received.
The hostess did not understand my last name - I have hearing loss. They were very noisy and busy. Our server was Matthew - I still have my receipt.
When I arrived it seemed as if we didn’t have a reservation. We were finally seated and it was nice server was nice.. Ordered my food and the entree itself was cold, so I tell the server, He takes it back. Comes back with warmer sides but not the entree.. it was a bad experience for my first time.. The manager cane over and asked was it better and I told her no.. she offered to take it back but I had this feeling as if my entree would come back out cold still with warmer sides so I declined the offer.. She offered me free dessert but I was so turned off that I didn’t even want that.. I’ll never go back.
It was Valentines Day so it was busy but the food seemed a little dried out and over cooked. Not as good as what I have experienced in the past.
Eric was an awesome server. Attentive and consistent in checking back to be sure all was good. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary.
Service was slow even though we were there at an off time. Food was average at best. I’d been at this restaurant in the past and it was good. This experience was way below expectations and I don’t expect I’ll return.
We were seated in the auxiliary room because they were so busy. It felt like we were seated in a banquet room
Food was very good. Good service. Not over the top great. Nice ambience
We had a wonderful meal and a very attentive server! Definitely will eat there again.
Food was good, except for the hair found in our jumbalaya rice
We have had excellent service and poor service at this location. On most recent visit, Friday night, the music was a poor choice and overwhelmed the space...the music should be background not the main feature unless it is live and appeals to the masses. The food is good and the support staff was helpful when the server was lacking.
Overall poor dining experience in the new (er) annex dining area just behind the bar. Poor ambience, fair service and borderline food for a restaurant that is typically great. Like a Completely different restaurant!!
I would highly recommend waiting for a table in the main dining area rather than Eat in this new area. The kitchen Was blamed for the long waits for food and such. I hope that the rest of the restaurant didn’t have as long of a wait for everything If so, the new seating area should not be used until they re-vamp the kitchen to be able to keep up with the new volume.
Size of plates was perfect. To many restaurants give you too much food. You put leftovers in fridge when you get home. Two days later your throwing it away. Good value for your money here.
Excellent service and good food on a busy Saturday night.
I had the greatest server. He accommodated my request for a “special” meal and it was perfect. He was just attentive enough without being overbearing. Food was great
I'm not a Big Seafood lover it was a friends Birthday and this was her choice.Just not my taste. Sorry!
Went for my birthday with 3 others. Food and drinks were excellent. I appreciated a mini Shark Fin Pie offered for my birthday.
The service, on the other hand, was slow. My wife observed another group, seated after us, getting their drinks first. Also she had to send her soup back as it was barely warm. The waitress was helpful answering our questions.
Lovely setting, terrific food and lots of it. Wonderful service. Calamari were a bit bland, but everything else was excellent.
The food was great, service ... not so much this time. But I have been before with better service so this experience will not stop me from returning.
Our Cod and Flounder stuffed with crab and lobster were very good -- as were the accompanying sides of smashed potatoes with respectively green beans and asparagus. The coffee was also very good, a few cups confirmed that. The server was pleasant and attentive to our needs. However, we were seated in a booth-for-2 that was in need of new seat cushions -- not as comfortable as we could have been. Be that as it may, there are other booths and tables at which to be seated... and considering the good food and service, a return visit is in our plans.
We had a party of 6 for my mother's birthday.
4 out of the 6 dinners were not very good.
3 of us ordered the pasta primavera with shrimp and crab. There was no crab in the pasta and the primavera sauce was watery.
The other order that was lacking was a lobster tilapia. There was no lobster in the stuffing.
We bought this to the attention of the server and she had the manager come by.
He told us that the crab and lobster were shredded. If that was the case, then the shredded pieces were too small to see or taste.
He did take one of the entrees of the bill.
Mitchells describes themselves as "...a premier upscale-casual seafood restaurant concept featuring the absolute freshest seafood in Cleveland"
The meals we had were hardly upscale. It was more like a Red Lobster with upscale prices.
