Good service. Great food.
The food was good. Nothing really to complain about or to boast about.
Priced to high for what you get
Overall it was a lovely evening with friends. We had a very attentive server. Food was well seasoned, but my dinner was not hot when served. My friend’s meal lacked a sauce and had to wait a while to get that to her. Love the variety of seafood and the location.
This was the second time we have had poor service at this restaurant. The server entered my wife’s order incorrectly and it had to be remade. I was finished with my meal when her’s came.
Dined alone on a Monday night. Ordered the All-In 3 course dinner. Overall the food quality was solid. Seafood gumbo was made the way I like it with chunky pieces of cod and crab. Sourdough bread was fresh with a crisp crust. The butter sauce on the crabmeat stuffed flounder may have been a bit too much where the crabmeat on top was drowning in the sauce. The dessert was a nice way to end the meal. Quantities were on the small side as I was able to finish all 3 courses without a to-go box. Service was exceptional! Highly recommend for a quiet dinner alone on a Monday night or to celebrate with family and friends on a weekend.
Great evening. Wonderful service. Great food! ThNk you!
Fish was soooo dry! Salmon and rainbow trout. Vegetables were nearly raw. Salad had more blue cheese dressing on it than there was salad. Yet, the dressing was fantastic. Still uneaten due to the 3/4 cup of it on top of the salad.
Poor wine list and small pours. Scallops entree and veg sides good. Salmon over cooked and tasteless. Gumbo was terrible, essentially a bowl of rice in catsup.
The food was very good . Wait staff D- .. slow to the table ; had to ask for water refill two times and never got any water to drink..usually we have had A+ service ; guess they had off night
Our evening's dining was excellent. The food was delicious and done perfectly and Ashley, our server, was delightful.
Once again was great dining experience. Never fails to be great place to eat.
My cucumber lavender cocktail was the best part. The rest was mediocre at best. What a disappointment to be seated at our table and wait at least 10 minutes until my husband finally went to ask the hostess if there was a server designated to our table.
There seemed to be three managers helping with the traffic (only 1/2 of tables were full) for the first 30 minutes we were there and then they all disappeared. At one point our desert sat ready to be delivered for over five minutes while our server was tied up at another table. No one in sight to help. Not a manager or a food runner. Our water glasses sat empty through most of our meal. The server was doing her best but she had no support. The food was good, but the service was non existent.
Food was good, but salmon was a bit cool and I ordered it well done. Will still go back though.
Great food and atmosphere. They weren't busy on the night that we arrived (a Thursday) due to a nearby concert. We will definitely return. We would recommend setting a reservation; they very likely have more customers than tables on a normal night.
The food was good as expected but the service was slow.
I dine here frequently. The food is consistent as is the pace of the kitchen. It is tolerable but don't plan to eat before a show or another event or you will likely be late and frustrated. Other than that I recommend the restaurant.
I had company in from out of state for a special celebration and they chose where to go eat. The restaurant was very loud, service unatintuve. DO NOT order the Shanghai Seafood Sampler!! Evening about it was Bad. From the over cooked almost microwaved scallops to the dry tasteless shrimp. The salmon portion was smaller than half a dollar bill. A BAD BAD PLATE! I was ALWAYS refer my friends and family to eat elsewhere!
Great food and service
Great food..nice dining!
Food entrée portions were fairly small and prices were high compared to comparable restaurants. Bonefish grill is a better value.
If you're a fan of seafood, it's worth your time to stop by Mitchell's Fish Market. You will not be disappointed.
This was one of those nights where you just wish you had made a different choice. I chose Mitchell’s because I desperately wanted seafood. The bread they brought to the table was so rock hard we laughed because no one could bite into it! I got the Shanghai sampler and the scallops were very small and blah looking, the shrimp appeared rubbery (as if it was quickly unthawed and thrown into a pan), and the salmon did NOT look fresh or grilled. The salmon appeared as if it had actually been microwaved! Looked terrible and unappetizing. Sent it back immediately. $100 meal and we were all disappointed because this used to be a fantastic restaurant. Quality has definitely gone down! I would not recommend and I will not be back.
National mojito day
Good food and service. We will go back and definitely recommend. They claimed they had Copper River Sockeye salmon and they did (many places don't). Prepared it will too.
Waitress was unfamiliar with menu when asked questions. BBQ shrimp was terrible and under sized for price. Lobster had only one small piece of lobster in it. Scallops were not blackened as per request.
We were very disappointed in our overall experience at Mitchell’s. We were having a girls night on the 4th of July. Granted it was a holiday we had no problem booking a reservation for the time we wanted. When we checked in for our 7pm reservation we were told they were booked solid and didn’t have tables in the DR. No big deal for us to sit in the bar area. However when we looked into the dining room the were nearly empty. It took an hour and 15 mins to receive our dinner. (We didn’t order apps.) And all 4 of our dinners were cold. Not even luke warm. Took another 30 to bring out the food made correctly and hot. Food did taste good. Our waitress never apologized, never asked if we needed another round of drinks, not pop or even water. Asked for cocktail sauce and was brought ketchup. Manager didn’t discount our bill, offer a round of drinks or even free dessert for our inconvenience. I understand it was a holiday and they were short staffed probably, but when they had a maximum of 7 tables this is unacceptable. Will not recommend and will not be returning. Very poor waitstaff and management
The service was wonderful and the food was absolutely fabulous. I am a chef in the food service industry and I can honestly say that I would highly recommend Mitchell’s to anyone. Thank you Mitchell’s for the lovely experience.
We did not get our OpenTable credited to our account after we checked it. No one waited on us right away and we had to ask our server who was in charge of our section. Once she realized that we were sitting in her area our service was fine. The food was OK.
It has been a while since we have eaten at Mitchell’s and I must say that this place has gone downhill in a big way. Service was poor when the restaurant was nearly empty. Soup and salad came out first prior to our appetizers showing up. Clam chowder was more like a watered down potato soup than a clam chowder you expect from a high end sea food restaurant. Crab cake was disgusting, spicy crispy shrimp were ok, but far from crispy as described in the appetizer title. Both of us ordered the sea bass, one grilled and one Shanghai style. Both pieces of fish were tough and rubbery instead of the buttery smooth texture you expect from sea bass. The restaurant has a baseline odor of something very off putting. We received one refill of our waters and she just poured Luke warm water into our glasses with virtually no ice in them. Instead of making a table visit to see how our evening was going the manager was too busy socializing with his exceptionally not busy wait staff. This used to be a place to go as a special treat, but it is scratched off the list for now.
Our server, Tracy, did a wonderful job. The pecan crusted Trout (sides of green beans and smashed potatoes) was well liked. The spicy chicken tacos were pretty dry (specifically the chicken itself was dry) which created a lack of flavor. Maybe a side of pico de gallo would have been helpful. If we go back I won't be ordering the spicy chicken tacos again.
The food was very good. I would have rated higher but I had $40 in ice tea and lemonade charges. The waitress told us the lemonade was fresh squeezed but did not tell us that there would be a refill charge. I thought this was extreme since we payed $4.50 for each glass. Wow
Great food and service
Party of 6 and 4 had good meals. The other 2 not so good, especially what for the price. Don’t like it when runners bring the food and ask “who got the ...?” Expected better.
It was a nice meal but I felt the salmon as over cooked. To dry. It was more well than medium. Fish is hard sometimes. I get it. I’ll be back but I wanted to share that with you.
I was disappointed with the menu. It had changed over the last few months. The entrees were just standard fare which you can get at most basic seafood restaurants. I always enjoyed Mitchell's because they had put a "twist" on some of their entrees. None of that existed this time. Understanding that it was Father's Day and busy, there was no excuse for no water being offered. Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating but she could only do so much. For the price, the food was just average.
Father’s Day with family gathering was wonderful experience. Accommodations for party of 11 excellent. Food and service excellent! Enjoyed the private room!
The food was pretty good, large portions and pretty good flavor and presentation. Our waiter Terry was really good without being obtrusive. We had a table of 9(7 adults 2 children) but felt like we were in the way of the waiters station and kitchen. The floor was greasy and the chairs would slide very easy, which was difficult for the children in our group. We were there for dinner, we only ordered one appetizer and 2 cocktails & 2 beers the rest were salad, soups and oysters, and 2 children's meals & 3 pieces of pie. The total of the bill was $300.00 which I think was out of line for what we had. If i was going to spend that kind of money again I would want a better atmosphere, less noisy, and better seating(the chairs were quite little)
Great food and service. Dined here for Father's Day. We got seated right away and it wasn't too busy or crowded.
With all the other choices out there I would not go back. They were not busy and the service was slow. Food was fine but the slow service took away from the food.
