Mitchell's Fish Market - Brookfield Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I dined here the day after my birthday. I had made a reservation elsewhere but discovered that I made it for the wrong day :( My bad. Fortunately we knew that Mitchell's was nearby and happened to have a table for 2. I had a really excellent scallop dish, my husband a seafood platter. And our server brought a generous birthday treat, which my husband and I split 90-10 :) Always quick service, whether for lunch or dinner.
As always we had great service from our favorite server, Michelle. She has been recommending dishes for me to get me out of my rut. That really helps me broaden my horizons. Brandon, the manager, explained what I was eating & how each ingratiate was made. I really am learning a lot.
This was our first time at the restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and when we had to adjust our reservation time, they were more than understanding. When we arrived they remembered the change of time and seated us right away. This made our experience very personal and enjoyable from beginning to end. The food was very good. I ordered a basic meal (fish 'n chips, type food), while my wife had the special for that day. There was no rush, but the drinks and food came in a timely fashion. Definitely a good choice for good food and available dinning. I also noted that there were some fairly large groups, which would make this a good option for larger families or groups of friends.
Shanghai seafood trio (Salmon, shrimp and scallops)with sticky rice was great. Cedar planked Salmon was perfectly prepared. Manhattan with blue cheese olives was generously served in a tub shaped glass. Waiter was efficient and well informed. Attentive without being annoying. Very enjoyable evening
The only bad part of the lunch was leaving. Everything - absolutely everything from the greeting by the hostess, the friendly waitress, the amazing bartender, the delicious appetizer-bread-soup-meal-dessert....everything was fabulous. A little expensive but worth it in every bite, smile and drink. Michelle is a gracious and personable waitress. I can’t remember the bartender but she too was a delight.
NYE at Mitchell's. We had planked salmon, asparagus, Caesar and arugula salads and key lime pie. All very good, though the fish should have been hotter and I think they confused the sauce with another salmon dish. The sour dough bread was exactly right.
Our server, Nancy, was thoughtful and very accomodating.
The server completely misunderstood what we asked for. We didn't figure it out until after a few comments were made. Therefore, the kitchen split our crab legs for us and they were dry and not worth the money we paid. We have had much better experiences previously and that was why we chose to go here for NYE, but that in itself could've been our downfall. Hope it's better the next time we try or we will never be back
Christmas Eve dinner scene was very busy. Attentive staff and lovely holiday ambience. Sarah did her very best to serve us well in the face of a crazy busy kitchen and crowded spaces between tables. Cod and whitefish were both over cooked and side veggies were very crisp and unseasoned. Lobster Mac and cheese and jambalaya sides were quite good. Our one vegetarian loved his house salad with dates; the suggested vegetarian dish of pasta with veggies was large and unremarkable. We appreciated Sarah’s suggestion as it was not on the menu. Lobster bisque was served lukewarm so we asked that it be removed from the bill. Sarah graciously asked if we wanted our shared bundt cake split between 2 plates which was a lovely touch. Given the crowds we assume Michell’s is typically better than this “Red Lobster”-like night demonstrated.
Mitchell'S Fish Market is my new favorite place! Had a delicious and long lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. Our server, Kelly, was wonderful and didn't make us feel like we were overstaying our welcome. Although it was a packed house, with large groups, it was quite enough for great conversation. Our ocean cob salads were delicious. I had been there the week before for a Christmas dinner with a group of friends. It was really noisy that night but we still really enjoyed our visit and server.
My date enjoyed her salmon, while my flounder stuffed with crab was delicious. Our server was pleasant and competent in all ways, but was in a bit more of a hurry to get our drink and menu orders and take our finished plates than necessary, given the many open tables on a chilly Thursday night. We were in-and-out in 1 hour and 15 minutes anyway. This is a nice place for a date or special meal.
