Great night at Mita’s
We will be back!!
Mita's is always great. The food is delicious and service has always been on point. We had a little lag this time that is why we gave them a 4.
Food was excellent. Try the paella and the wagu beef. Service was great.
It was our first indoor dining experience since the pandemic began. We were pleased with the related protocols in place. The service was excellent; friendly without being intrusive. The food was excellent. We appreciated the recommendations from wait staff on drinks and food. The whole experience was truly memorable
Wonderful evening and food. Champagne toast for anniversary.
Amazing from cocktails to dessert! Every bite was delicious as always.
Waiter was helpful and explained the dishes well. Everything we ordered was delicious and the quail dish was exceptional. Nice atmosphere and plenty of spacing between tables.
This was our first experience dining "in" at a restaurant since March 3, 2020. (Our party of 4 all fully vaccinated.) Physically, everything was extremely clean, tables properly spaced and occupancy at optimum levels. Masks were required and complied with by all. (So everybody's big question- how did you feel? Safe. Hopefully our vaccines protected us in this compliant situation, we weren't overly apprehensive.) The food was as remembered from Chef Salazar's kitchen, every course and tapa was excellent. Our waiter served us in the appropriate waves of dishes. Our friends from NJ were very impressed at the quality of every dish appetizers to desert. The only slight knock I had against the experience was undoubtably due to figuring out post Covid staffing. The service, while friendly and competent, was a bit uneven when it came to taking away plates and restocking wine. Once again, we chock this up to pandemic rust and variable crowd size. Overall, a five star experience as we have come to expect from Mitas
Great Tapas selection in cincinnati!
Service and attention to detail are top notch.
We were only in Cincinnati for three nights. Mita’s was on the second night, which turned into an additional night. Small plates done with high quality on a modest menu is what brought us back. Definitely try the octopus. We had it both nights and will have it again when we pass through.
Just WOW. What can I even say. This was truly a top 5 meal I've ever had in my life, and that includes Michelin star restaurants I've dined at in New York and Chicago. We were entertaining friends from out of town and Mita's absolutely BLEW US AWAY!!! The service was perfect - not pretentious, but covered everything we needed. The food was out of this world. Every single dish impressed so much we couldn't even figure out what was our favorite. Some of the most humble dishes on their menu were absolutely delightful (Chicarrons, patatas bravas, local breads w/ olive oil & romesco to name a few). But that was only the beginning. The vegetable dishes were all unique and incredibly flavorful, the ceviches we tried were bright, fresh, and light, and the meat tapas we finished with were exquisite and rich. Don't even get me started on their selection of Spanish cheeses & cured meats, which put most other charcuterie boards I've ever had to shame. We went with a group of 4, and I would say this was ideal as we got to try so many unique and different flavors that it really felt like we were transported to Spain.
We all had two rounds of cocktails (mostly Spanish/Latin focused - wonderful), as well as a bottle of Rioja (they have the largest selection of Spanish wine's I've ever seen at a restaurant in this city). I couldn't even believe that we had room for dessert, but they had a rotating selection of home-made ice creams and sorbets that just sealed the deal.
I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you've never tried it. Not only does it compete with many of the other downtown heavyweights (Ruby's, Boca, Sotto), but it innovates and delights in a way that none of those restaurants can. 5 stars, grab some friends, and go there as soon as you can.
Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was fabulous. Loved the cheeses and ceviche. It was an experience in trying many different flavors. Will go back next time we are in town!
Second time to Mita's and I would still highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is inviting and the service is spot on.
Special thanks to Josh, our server, who we were lucky enough to have for both dining experiences. He is a consummate pro.
Everything was really good, the waiter was not as good as in my past experience. I’ll definitely go back though!
The food was great and it was really nice to try several different small plates!
Excellent food, decent Spanish wine list. They serve tapas-style with "small plates," which I would call small-medium plates. Five were enough for my wife and me. The fried plantains with guacamole were outstanding. The seafood fresh and cleverly spiced and sauced. My only complaint was that the courses came too fast. They seemed to be in a hurry to feed us and get us out of there. Wait staff very friendly and helpful.
Mita’s is a must-do place to dine when visiting Cincinnati. Best tres leches I’ve ever had and their tapas, of course, are remarkable. HIGHLY recommend.
Wow! One of the best restaurants in the city! Such an amazing dinner we had. Chef Jose Salazar really knows how to bring a delicious and true Latin American menu to life. This was my third time at his restaurant and this time I brought my cousin and her boyfriend who then proposed at dinner! The Mitas staff was wonderful and very accommodating of our requests for the proposal and they even sent out champagne after he proposed. A wonderful night to remember with great food, atmosphere , and family.
Staff was friendly and helpful, and most of what is in the veggie section is easily made vegan-friendly. Everything was very good, but the Coliflor Asada was the star.
Amazing food and service! Can’t wait to go back!
From the bread to salad up to the mussels and lamb shank every thing was excellent . Waitress was excellent, pulling it all together
We enjoyed the fundraiser very much. We were hoping that the two chefs would speak a little more about the reason for the event. The three courses for elegant and delicious.
We went to Mita’s for our daughter’s birthday. It was an excellent experience. The food is amazing. The staff do a great job. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. We will be back again.
Mita is a bit unusual in that it has a distinctly upscale, urban feel but, because of the extensive "small bite" menu, one does not have to spent a lot to dine well. It works well for us since we like multiple course meals. The food covers a wide range, and because of so many unique, creative dishes everyone might not like every item, but we have no trouble putting together a mix that we love. The cocktails are excellent; we could drive the 15 miles just to get the Pisco Sour. The wine list is strictly South American, most of us will have familiarity with only a few at best., but a little research uncovers some value gems. Our service has been outstanding on each of our visits. Highly recommended.
Excellent all around! Drinks were great, food was so good, I was full but could not stop eating! Our waitress was excellent, bartenders were friendly and informative. I’d go back in a heartbeat if I lived closer!
Wonderful evening and great service; the norm for our visits to Mita’s. Never disappointed!
This is our 6th visit to Mita and it did not disappoint. It was a last minute decision on a lovely Spring evening to walk around downtown. Cocktails, meat and cheese charcuterie, beef tips and brussel sprouts were delicious.
Most awesome place !
The pozole is unbelievable!!!
I would have licked the plate if I had been in the privacy of my own home ......
This was the ideal date night dinner for our Cincinnati stay. The service was excellent, enhanced by the server’s energy and knowledgeable suggestions. Make sure to ask for recommendations as the menu can be a bit overwhelming if you’re not familiar with tapas style dining, and you’ll likely get some hints about off-the-menu specials for the extra effort. The ceviche de dia (mahi-mahi) was light, refreshing and flavorful. We ended up getting three other plates and the Pollo Peruano was possibly the best chicken I’ve had in my life. Finished off with a chef’s special chocolate fudge cake with passionfruit sauce and strawberries for dessert which was divine. Overall, Mita’s has a great vibe and even better food. Definitely make a point to visit if you’re in the city.
We love Mita's! Amazing food and service. It's romantic and spacious and our favorite date spot.
Restaurant is beautiful. Everything was delicious. Nice week night-date night spot.
Travis was our server ... I don't dine a Mitas and asked Travis to pick dishes for us .. He did and outstanding job of asking us our likes and dislikes.. then the food started.. one wonderful dish after the next..... IF Travis represents what the service level is at Mitas .. they are in great shape with staffing . .. His knowledge of the menu and his kind and friendly nature are truly an asset to the restaurant ...
Everything was perfect as always at Mita’s!
Service - Gracious and sharp
Everything was fantastic with one exception. Our server was less than warm and hospitable. It was quite clear that he wasn't very happy to have my son and I in his section. We had never been there before but I have been wanting to go for quite some time and it was my birthday so we made reservations. Our server Mexico was just not friendly (at all) and a bit condescending. When I asked questions he rattled off ingredients and menu items so fast I would have had to have instant replay in slo-mo to dicepher what he said. Our check was $197 and we were there for about 2 hours. Since I have very deep roots in hospitality and have performed as GM for an award winning restaurant which Chef Salazar has been to several times, as well introduced me to his wife and son, I left Mexico a $40 gratuity even though he truly didn't deserve it. I will be back because the atmosphere and food were outstanding, the host staff was great and our server assistant (who's name escapes me at the moment, maybe Sydney?) was an absolute gem, such a sweet person with a great personality. Maybe she will be a server next time we go!
Had 7:15 reservations and decide to eat at the bar once we arrived... itching against dining room, bar is more our style. There were plexiglass “walls” between seats so it was a semi-private feel. Awesome service (I wish I remembered the guys name) - had great recommendations for type and number of dishes. Food was fantastic - we got cheese (yum!), trout tostada (wowzers), octopus (good), fried plantains (good) and pork shank (wowzers). Drinks were good even though I’m not normally a cocktail guy. Good selection of wine and beer. I’d highly recommend for date night!!
We had such a wonderful experience at Mita's! We were not sure what we wanted when arriving, so we went with the drink and food suggestions from our server. He did not steer us wrong! The tapas servings of plantains, empanadas and octopus were amazing! We will be back on our next trip to Cincy!
