Nice addition to the Creamry. Niceatmosphere, good service.
So excited for Mistura to reinvent the premiere restaurant space within the SLO Creamery downtown! Their Peruvian-inspired menu is extremely adventurous, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first experience. Our favorites were the Tiradito Alpaca and Costa Del Mar (grilled octopus); every dish was inventive, and we really appreciated what Chef Nicola's trying to achieve. Mistura's house Sangria is potent and delicious, and the dessert we tried (La Flor) was beautifully presented in addition to tasting sinfully scrumptious! We learned that our favorite Peruvian dish (Aji de Gallina) is only served at lunch, so we'll be back!
The flavor and presentation of the food was exceptional. The quality of seafood that was used in the dish was so fresh and All the ingredients in the dish were paired so well together creating a such a flavorful and delicious dish .
Great service the waiter was very helpful with my vegan coworkers.
Dad and Grad celebration on the 20th. All enjoyed.
Pricy wine list.
Overall a good meal; however, portions of order were not submitted (overlooked) and came out in wrong order.
Overall, the dining experience was very good. The decor is appealing and unique. We enjoyed the appetizers especially the empanadas. The chicken rice entree was too salty. Too much soy flavoring. Customer service can improve. The waiter assigned to our table was aloof and not personable at all. He did not seem enthusiastic about serving us. He needs to work on developing at minimum, a superficial connection with his guests. Our family will return again despite the suboptimal service.
Mistura was a great experience, coming from an absolute foodie, The meal and presentation was great. Ambiance was awesome.
However, this is the epitome of "tapas" with that being said it is very expensive for not much food.
I would not come to this place if you are super hungry, unless you plan on spending a lot of money.
Plan on about $70 person with no alcohol included.
The wine list was super weak and short, lacking decent wines, the wines that they did offer were super overpriced. They need to step that up if they want to be a successful restaurant in a world class wine region.
I hope they do well, and consider offering a bit more than just a couple bites for a $20+ tapas
Amazing! What a nice surprise! This is no little mom and pop place (although that’s exactly who the owners are), but a first class, maybe world class, culinary experience. Huge selection of fascinating dishes, knowledgeable waitstaff, great location and ambience. (They took over the place after another ambitious restaurant closed down.)
Please give it a try; if you don’t recognize the dishes just ask the server!
Very impressed with flavor and deliciousness of each dish!
We love Mistura! They are in a new location, and it was a busy weekend, but other than a few “growing pains” like food coming out slowly and one order placed incorrectly, we had a great time.
While the food was very good, the service was abysmal. Family style eating was recommended but we had to request plates, glasses and silverware. Wine was brought to the table but wine glasses were forgotten. The flow of courses was so slow and forgotten that it took 3 hours to eat a meal consisting of 3 appetizers and 2 entree. At one point the waiter came to our table and asked us if we had received our entrees , which we had not.The orders were confused with wrong items delivered then subsequently charged us for the incorrect items . Check your bill. We were overcharged. In their defense, I believe it was an error and not malicious. The food was good enough to try again but they really need to improve their service
Great food. A few small issues with service but this should be worked out over the next few weeks. I can’t wait to go back! The grilled octopus was wonderful
Juan Carlos was an excellent waiter. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. Not cheap but can still taste those delicious scallops and empanadas.
Service was very bad, but they just open, so I will give them another chance as the Lamb was the best o ever had!
I’ve been to Mistura when it was in Paso Robles. This was even better then the meals we had previously. Nice presentation, great flavors, overall excellent experience.
While the main courses we had were wonderful, the appetizer was extremely overpriced and our waiter was pushy. The appetizer was 18.00 for 3 bites of food of which 80% was a mashed potato. Would never repeat this or recommend it. The main dishes were excellent but I felt on the high side price wise. I had the ahi tuna and my date had the lamb.
Our waiter was very pushy and kept bringing an ipad over to show us dishes we should order. Then he disappeared about the time we finished and was gone for over 20 minutes. The guy sitting next to us told the house manager and went in search of the guy because they had yet to order their main dishes!
OMG! What a wonderful new venue!
To start I have to say that I had been to the Paso location once and really enjoyed it. But now the restaurant has relocated to the Creamery in SLO a couple of doors down from the owner's other venue, Mama's Meatball. This new establishment has a totally different vibe than it's predecessor. It's modern elegant.
We were greeted by Carlos whom we know from Mama's. He found us a nice table by the window. There were 4 of us, so we were able to order a variety of items. My favorite are the Anticuchos de Corazón. The heart pieces are marinated then grilled. So good! Jack's favorite were the Papas a la Huancaína (my second fave) which were actually not on the menu. Yellow potatoes with a spicy, creamy sauce. We also tried "Olivar", a delicious mix of crab, octopus, avocado, and potato.
We ordered 3 mains but ended up getting 4 because someone down the line made a mistake and brought us one we had not ordered. What luck! The Seco de Cordero was to die for. Lamb falling off the bone. Shelly ordered the Gaucho, a rib-eye with delicious fresh chimichurri. Alex chose the Lobster Ravioli, one of the tastiest I've ever had. Jack had the Tira de Lomo, short ribs which had fantastic flavor.
We all were so impressed with everything, especially since this location just opened a few days ago. Gracias to Carlos and Allan and all the staff. And Grazie mille to Chef Nicola!
Excellent food and personalized service. The food was unique and high quality. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We loved it!
Tonight was our first visit to Mistura’s new (re)location in San Luis Obispo and, already, it’s our favorite restaurant in town. Can’t wait to revisit with a larger group so we can order the whole menu!
White table cloths would have made a big difference. Felt like you were dining a very expensive meal in a recreation hall.
We were celebrating Mother’s Day and our experience was amazing! The food was cooked perfectly. Our waiter (JC) was friendly and kind! The La Flor was a show stopping event. We would highly recommend them.
Hubby & I celebrated our wedding anniversary here & enjoyed the best braised chicken & the perfectly grilled ribeye steak, as well as the best & famous chocolate dessert- La Flor. The service was excellent, even Chef Nicola came out to chat & greeted us.
The food tasted great and portions we're abundant. . However, although the restaurant didn't look too busy, they were out of several items. The service was good, but disappointed no liquor license. Would love to have had a pisco sour before dinner.
It took 45 minutes between ordering food and being served. In that time, patrons who were seated after us were served and finished. No apology, minimum update from the the staff.
We have been here many times and it is always fine to return. Ambiance, food, and service have always been great.
Food was disappointing. Appetizers served room temp.
Tucked away by a beautiful golf course. Really nice setting, nice people and delicious food off the Main Street.
We enjoyed the mango brûlée a lot!
Octopus was one of the best we ever had. Tender and perfectly prepared.
Great menu and good food. We enjoyed the service. Would have like to see more chicken selections.
The food was excellent!!! The seabass was so fresh and flavorful. The octopus was soft and tender. Service was great and food was so delicious. Will definitely go again when we're in town next time.
Great food and great experience thank you
Vaer good food
The food was very good. The service was pretty terrible, we had a reservation and got there on time and literally stood there at the entrance for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We had to flag someone down.
The food was great, I only wish the service was better.
Our server was the BEST! He accommodated some last-minute changes and set up and served a cake I brought. Totally MADE my daughter’s birthday special!
The food was superb, better than we remembered. And the service was excellent. Helpful and very pleasant.
We were in Paso Room for. Zin Festival and were excited to try a Peruvian Restaurant. We made a reservation about a week and a half ahead. It appears that the bartender goes home at about 7:00 PM, leaving one waiter to cover all 12 guests that evening during the time we were there. Not a problem, but service was slow because of just the one waiter and luckily we had a replacement glass of wine for my husband ( a Niner Sangiovese) that was corked). A corked wine is not the restaurant’s fault but for a higher end restaurant in the hear of Paso Robles wine region, the selection was paltry. The food was excellent but very, very slow in coming out but served very hot and well constructed. The atmosphere is nearly non existent-chairs are the metal WAyfair types with very, very thin not even cushions that made them uncomfortable. Much could be done on the side of the property (two burned out light bulbs in the drop lights and no shades on some of the windows causing customers to sit in awkward spaces to avoid the slanted evening sun).
meal took over 2 hours and the food was not flavorful enough. Also almost everything was not available on the menu and there were substitutions. Our reservation was at a normal time, so this was surprising that the appetizer and desserts we wanted were not available (at 7 pm on a Saturday)
We all enjoyed the appetizers we ordered. The flavors were special. However, It seemed as though they gave a lot more attention to the appetizers as compared to the main courses. Only one of us enjoyed our meal, the short ribs, which we agreed were delicious. The octopus was slightly overcooked which I could overlook, but the charring overpowered the overall flavor. The third person commented that their ahi was tuff. We all thought the service and overall experience average. We want to give this restaurant another try, just for the appetizers and short ribs. For this reason, we would recommend Mistura.
Great tasty food and wonderful service!
