We loved it! They were super kind and courteous! They called me in advance to let me know of their covid protocols and I loved that. The food was AMAZING. We never had Peruvian food before. They answered any questions we had. We will definitely be going back!
Great food, service and atmosphere, even though COVID. Highly recommend!
This is our new favorite restaurant in SLO. We enjoyed so many delicious Peruvian dishes including a seared ahi salad, causa with real crab and avocado, flavorful empanadas, mushroom ravioli, and chicken fried rice. The desserts were incredible, especially the soaked sponge cake and Peruvian caramel cookies. We will most definitely return!
Went to Mistura on Thanksgiving Day with my family. They were offering a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner in addition to their regular menu. We decided to go with their regular (Peruvian) menu and it did not disappoint us. Both the food and the service were very good. We would definitely return when we're back in SLO.
Good food and great service! Did a good job outside.
Were there no pandemic, the interior of the place is very nice but as it is, one eats outside and in November, the evenings are chill to really chill necessitating propane heaters. The menu is extensive and I think too extensive - they need to focus on fewer items and up their game on those. Empanadas were chewy crusts, not flakey. The octopus was grilled well but needed a bit more time on the fire. And so on.... The wait staff seemed either confused or perhaps understaffed, although very polite and nice. I hope the restaurant works to improve their game as this would be a great addition to the SLO scene.
The food was awesome! The service was not so great. Our waiter was very nice but every time we asked for something he would forget and we had to keep flagging someone down.
Top 5 restaurant I ever been to. Great food and presentation.
Beautiful experience while out of town.
Food was delicious and visually appealing too. Service was exceptional with excellent suggestions and descriptions.
What an experience! Make sure to save room for dessert! 😋
Great and interesting food. Appreciated the 3 course lunches and variety offered.
This is our second time in two weeks! Wishing this restaurant the best. Thank you for having appropriate, socially distanced eating spaces and a beautiful, and creatively decorated interior. Even the bathroom walls are cool.
We ate here after thinking about it for over 6 months. Food was very good, as was the service. The only problem was the cost of the glass of Sangria we ordered. On the Open Table website, the cost of Sangria is listed as $2.00 on the menu...I didn't realize that we were charged $16.00 per glass. When I call to ask about the charge, I was told that a glass of Sangria was in fact $16.00, as it should be filled to the top and garnished. Ours wasn't filled to the top, nor was it garnished...but it did have a great deal of ice!
We will come back to Mistura, but you can bet we won't be ordering drinks!
Amazing food. Beautiful restaurant. Can’t wait to go again.
Everything about this place was exceptional, including the service, ambiance, and food. I was thoroughly impressed!
I took my girlfriend to Mistura for dinner for her birthday. It was fabulous and romantic. The food was unique and elegant and reasonably priced. Service was great. It was a memorable evening.
The food was very flavorful and just the right spice. Great combination of Seafood and Meat options. the waitress did a great job explaining all the items on the menu
Just wonderful. Can’t say enough. Great preparations, great menu and great staff. You are all the bomb!
Fantastic Food! Would highly recommend. Great portion sizes as well.
Good food. Service not so much. Once we were seated we were ignored until I went and found a server. Then we ordered and asked for our wine to be uncorked. It took another 10 minutes for that to happen. Problem wasn't so much the servers . There just wasn't enough of them on a busy Saturday night.
Went here during Covid in the hopes of a good dinning experience. Food was fine but lots of issues with Covid safety. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed the chef or sous chef behind the open kitchen had his mask below his nose despite signs throughout the restaurant stating masks are required. I almost walked out and should have. Our table felt safe and well distance, which I appreciated. Service was also very good. When I went to the bathroom there was a sign stating there is a limit of 2 people in the bathroom at a time. I was the only person then another came in and when I can out of the stall there were 4 women in there, two without masks. I realize the restaurant can’t patrol everyone but they do have a choice about the model their staff sets. In terms of the lack of Covid safety, I’m not sure if this is a SLO issue or just this restaurant. In ant case I won’t return as it’s not safe.
Amazing presentation of food and great taste and flavors. We loved it!
Great food, excellent service. Loved the outdoor vibe. We will be back soon.
As always, an amazing experience trying wonderful dishes
The filet mignon strips were marinated in something with such unique yet somehow familiar flavors. The flavor profile of the sauce was unexpected but I couldn't get enough of it. It was delicious!
Excellent food. Especially when willing to try new things!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere!!! Highly recommend!
We were drawn in by the given location which has changed and the 3 course value menu which we didn’t read the fine print in: only available until 5.
First take: wine prices were high and the wine we ordered wasn’t available by the bottle. Our $16/glass choice seemed to be a pretty light pour but may have been correct.
Ordered the scallop appetizer which was listed as having a light Parmesan foam and garlic crunch. They were served smothered in cheese, masking the delicate flavor we discovered when we peeled the cheese off.
The quinoa salad was excellent.
Our main course of the mushroom and truffle ravioli was fairly pricey: $30 for 5 ravioli and the menu description said it had a light cognac sauce which was in fact a heavy cream sauce.
Our waiter didn’t seem to be knowledgeable about the nuances of the menu nor responsive to our questions or comments.
The noise from the street was a bit distracting.
I did witness other entrees as much more substantial so perhaps if I was a meat eater, I would report a better experience.
Everything was so unique and tasteful. We indulged, mixto ceviche, Oliver (octopus/Alaskan king crab) And an incredible delectable and visually remarkable dessert like nothing else La Flor!!!
Love everything about this restaurant!
Lovely meal. Interesting, different menu well representing Peruvian food. Server was attentive but not overly intrusive, and tables were well spaced. Only restaurant in SLO we absolutely have to have an appetizer at as they are fabulous. The Cebiche is great.
Love the restaurant. Food is very good, and the people are lovely.
We celebrated my 70 th b day this weekend and it was wonderful. My kids enjoyed Peruvian cuisine for the first time and it was lovely sitting outside on a beautiful weekend. Thank you, I will be back!!
First time visit, and will definitely could go back, the menu had so many interesting dishes. Too bad for us, we are too far to visit often.
We dined at Mistura on 10/9/20 for my wife's birthday and had a fine, but not exceptional meal. The restaurant was conscientious and diligent on social distancing requirements as well as mask wearing mandates except in one case. Upon arrival, my wife tried to just peek through a curtain to see if a beautiful mural had been retained from the previous restaurant. A male server sternly and aggressively scolded her about it being a private party. It's not like she was going to crash the party or something and he could see the host was sorting out which table to seat us at. Our table had a very uneven leg and had to have a shim placed under it to make it stop rocking. After the scolding and fumbling to level our table, I was greatly relieved to have our server be such a delight to engage with and very professional. Not to harp on the scolding my wife received, but throughout our nearly two hours at Mistura, someone from that private party kept coming past our table to share the dregs of open wine bottles from the party with a group seated right behind us who must not have been included in the private party. He walked past at least half a dozen times or more and often without a mask on. I found it quite distracting and rude. The menu lacked a full cocktail menu except for the house made spirit based drinks, which we tried and enjoyed. The wine list by the glass was quite short. We ordered several starters and the Diver Scallops sashimi was outstanding. The Cebiche we chose was good, but lacked refinement, much seasoning and the fish chunks were quite large. We shared a pork, chicken and lamb stew entree with rice that was wonderful but some bread or something to soak up the broth would have been a nice touch. The amount of rice was not sufficient to fully absorb all the broth. The tableside created, liquid nitrogen ice cream dessert was a show stopper and our server was amazing in its preparation and delivery. All in all, a good value and fine meal. Just not outstanding.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance!
It was our first experience at Mistura. We loved the food, the people, the ambiance, all of it!
My new favorite restaurant. Drinks were good, ceviche excellent and desserts to die for.
Wedding Anniversary
Very good food. The beef heart was out of this world. The octopus was very best I ever had. Got to order the crème brulee , not only for taste but also for the show. Instead of a hot flame to burn the surface , they used a very hot plate , it added a special smoky favor.
Just fabulous! And if you are lucky enough to get Jack as your server, you won’t be disappointed!!
