Tonight was our first visit to Mistura’s new (re)location in San Luis Obispo and, already, it’s our favorite restaurant in town. Can’t wait to revisit with a larger group so we can order the whole menu!
White table cloths would have made a big difference. Felt like you were dining a very expensive meal in a recreation hall.
We were celebrating Mother’s Day and our experience was amazing! The food was cooked perfectly. Our waiter (JC) was friendly and kind! The La Flor was a show stopping event. We would highly recommend them.
Hubby & I celebrated our wedding anniversary here & enjoyed the best braised chicken & the perfectly grilled ribeye steak, as well as the best & famous chocolate dessert- La Flor. The service was excellent, even Chef Nicola came out to chat & greeted us.
The food tasted great and portions we're abundant. . However, although the restaurant didn't look too busy, they were out of several items. The service was good, but disappointed no liquor license. Would love to have had a pisco sour before dinner.
It took 45 minutes between ordering food and being served. In that time, patrons who were seated after us were served and finished. No apology, minimum update from the the staff.
We have been here many times and it is always fine to return. Ambiance, food, and service have always been great.
Food was disappointing. Appetizers served room temp.
Tucked away by a beautiful golf course. Really nice setting, nice people and delicious food off the Main Street.
We enjoyed the mango brûlée a lot!
Octopus was one of the best we ever had. Tender and perfectly prepared.
Great menu and good food. We enjoyed the service. Would have like to see more chicken selections.
The food was excellent!!! The seabass was so fresh and flavorful. The octopus was soft and tender. Service was great and food was so delicious. Will definitely go again when we're in town next time.
Great food and great experience thank you
Vaer good food
The food was very good. The service was pretty terrible, we had a reservation and got there on time and literally stood there at the entrance for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We had to flag someone down.
The food was great, I only wish the service was better.
Our server was the BEST! He accommodated some last-minute changes and set up and served a cake I brought. Totally MADE my daughter’s birthday special!
The food was superb, better than we remembered. And the service was excellent. Helpful and very pleasant.
We were in Paso Room for. Zin Festival and were excited to try a Peruvian Restaurant. We made a reservation about a week and a half ahead. It appears that the bartender goes home at about 7:00 PM, leaving one waiter to cover all 12 guests that evening during the time we were there. Not a problem, but service was slow because of just the one waiter and luckily we had a replacement glass of wine for my husband ( a Niner Sangiovese) that was corked). A corked wine is not the restaurant’s fault but for a higher end restaurant in the hear of Paso Robles wine region, the selection was paltry. The food was excellent but very, very slow in coming out but served very hot and well constructed. The atmosphere is nearly non existent-chairs are the metal WAyfair types with very, very thin not even cushions that made them uncomfortable. Much could be done on the side of the property (two burned out light bulbs in the drop lights and no shades on some of the windows causing customers to sit in awkward spaces to avoid the slanted evening sun).
meal took over 2 hours and the food was not flavorful enough. Also almost everything was not available on the menu and there were substitutions. Our reservation was at a normal time, so this was surprising that the appetizer and desserts we wanted were not available (at 7 pm on a Saturday)
We all enjoyed the appetizers we ordered. The flavors were special. However, It seemed as though they gave a lot more attention to the appetizers as compared to the main courses. Only one of us enjoyed our meal, the short ribs, which we agreed were delicious. The octopus was slightly overcooked which I could overlook, but the charring overpowered the overall flavor. The third person commented that their ahi was tuff. We all thought the service and overall experience average. We want to give this restaurant another try, just for the appetizers and short ribs. For this reason, we would recommend Mistura.
Great tasty food and wonderful service!
From the service to the food Mistura did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic and we had a great time. Thank you so much for making my wife's 30th birthday so memorable.
All three of us loved our dinners: beef short ribs, pork chop, and lobster ravioli. The accompaniments were delicious too. Great service. The only thing we didn't care for was the Barbera wine.
We’ve had two lovely dinners here but last Saturday they were jammed busy but it was still no excuse for what happened. We arrived for our 7:00 pm reservation on time but no food, no bread and no appetizers arrived for over an hour. When the appetizers arrived, the calamari was hard as rocks and inedible. We also had boletas, a fried yucca dish that was bland but ok. The two husbands ordered short ribs that were ok but the ladies ordered mushroom ravioli, that per the menu was supposed to have truffle oil and shaved black truffles. That was pretty much why we ordered it. It came out with soggy sprouts instead of shaved truffles. The waiter tried to point to the sprouts as truffles but said as an aside that truffles are expensive. When our waitress came by, I asked where the shaved black truffles were. She went to the kitchen and came back to report that they don’t do the black truffles anymore and they “hadn’t gotten around” to changing the menu. The cream sauce on the ravioli was congealed and not very good. We’re pretty much done with this restaurant.
Food was superb with delicious, complex flavors. We had the Salmon with rice and the Ribeye for dinner. For dessert- Mango Creme Brûlée and Churros- lovely and delectable.
This restaurant has mouth watering, eclectic, and perfectly plated dishes at extremely reasonable prices. This has been a favorite restaurant since I 1st came here a year ago. I live in L.A. and love Paso because it’s a relatively short drive for a fun relaxing trip whether it’s with my best girlfriend or my Mom I’ve found that it’s a great girls getaway! Every time I come I try to eat here 1st! My only complaint is that they close so early, which is the reason we missed eating dinner here last night after being between 5-10minutes late we were told the kitchen had closed even before our reservation time! 🤔The food and presentation, however are out of this world! Short story long I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TRIES THIS PLACE AT LEAST ONCE!!!! I have a feeling you’ll become a regular after your first time😋
Wish there was a 0 star option.. stop for a second and imagine .. it’s your wedding anniversary (yep.. cheesy, but hey.. it was in a foreign country where Valentine’s Day holiday does not exist) and you were good.. made a reservation weeks in advance. You are all dressed up and show up on time .. just to find out a 20-ppl line.. wait whaat??? Yep.. 20 ppl. Common .. they have no reservations! Nope.. they DID!! And they have waited for an hour to be seated...To make this story short.. after waiting for 45 min and finding out that ppl who were seated TWO hours before STILL didn’t get any food .. we left. We ended up dining in a different restaurant and it was OK.. but the night was ruined completely!! Stay away!!
Waited 1h15 with a reservation before to seat at the table!! After the service was perfect and we had free drink!! Food very good. And the place was very quite.
It is unfortunate that we had too wait so long. But it was valentine day... usually it is not so packed.
Made 7:00 reservations for valentines dinner, waited 45 minutes to be seated, another 15 before they took our order. Filet minion was one of the specials on the menu, but we were informed that they ran out of that, so we should just have the fish. Not being a fan of seafood, I had the options of nothing, or portobello mushrooms. Asked for the appetizers, and they gave us the wrong things. This was our first time at this establishment, and likely the last. I have to say, what we did eat, was extremely good, but the rest of the experience was very lacking. For a price of 55 per plate, and having made reservations, I truly believe that in no way should we have had to eat anything other than what we had gone there for. It’s hard to give a bad review when the chef honestly made a delicious meal, but the experience overrode that fact.
Staff was short handed with only 2 waiters, no hostess, and poor busing of tables.
The food, however was excellent.
without question, best in the county. worth the drive.
It was obviously a hard night for Mistura. A bus boy worked as the host, and there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant. We were a party of 4, and while everyone felt the food had great flavor, 2 of the entrees were luke warm at best when they arrived at the table. This place has potential and maybe this night was an anomaly, but I can't recommend it based on our experience.
Restaurant was terribly understaffed. Only two people to serve some 60 or so diners on a Saturday night. In addition to waiting tables they had to bus them, welcome and seat new guests, and tend bar. It was remarkable that they maintained a cheerful and friendly attitude despite all this. They were also very understanding and generous: to thank us for being patient they gave us very large servings of wine (probably two standard pours each) and then didn’t charge us at all for them. They said they did this to make up for the slow service. I gave them a big tip because the problem clearly wasn’t theirs, it was with the restaurant management who somehow felt two people could manage an entire dinner shift.
Amazingly, the food was delicious and attractively presented. We enjoyed every bite. I’m just glad I realized early on that it was going to be a long night, and I didn’t have anywhere else to be that evening.
I hope they get their act together.
It feels like a family restaurant. I felt comfortable and welcomed. The staff is concerned and friendly. The food was delicious!
The chef here is excellent. My favorite is the octopus and it is cooked to perfection and can be cut with a fork. My husband had beef short ribs that just melted in his mouth. Our server was wonderful. It was a real treat!
Tasty dishes. As long as you receive the dishes they had available. Rating it 3/5 because they were out of 50% of the dishes for a 7:30 Saturday night dinner. The shrimp soup and tacu tacu dishes were delish! ! Loved the churro dessert as well, but we wanted the gelato lol. Just be open as this business might still be going through some growing pains.
OK for after golf but location is out of town , not great ambiance, fairly expensive, not as nice as web site suggests
The food was excellent! The beef was very tender and good. I will definitely recommend.
Amazing Peruvian food. Love ceviche and seafood main courses. No kids menu, but our kids enjoyed sharing the roasted chicken and fries.
To start, they were out of Peruvian beer, only local beer and some wines were available. They were also out of alpaca. Our ceviche appetizer was tough and mostly lemon juice and red onion. Dinner took 2 hours to arrive after ordering. The seared ahi main course was not memorable. The beef short ribs were very good, though. The restaurant was very loud due to a large table of seemingly drunk people. The waiter was as nice as he could be, and did comp our beverages for all the trouble.
