One of the best restaurants in the valley. Their steaks are better than any at a steakhouse.
Always amazing. We’re there once a week!
Fabulous food, great service terrific bar. The dinner menu had amazing choices, Petrossian style salmon, the best foie gras I ever had. Wagyu beef and of course their famous chocolate souffle. We will be back soon!
Love Mistral. A true neighborhood gem.
Special place to me. Consistently awesome place!!
Perfect as always !
Noisier than I remembered. But, there were 7 of us and the service was great.
Love this place. Always a great meal, drinks and service.
Amazing as ever !
The best Dover sole I’ve had in a long time! Perfect 10!
We visited Mistral again for a Dine LA event (we've been there at least one other time) and would go again in a heartbeat. Everything about this restaurant is terrific ... the noise level is very high but even sitting on the long banquette in a little slot for 2, we still managed to be able to converse easily. The service is really great; there was a red wine I had never tried (from Sicily) and was wondering if it would work with my meal; the sommalier offered to bring me a small pour so I could try it (I did love it), but that's the extra caring that makes this a great restaurant.
The DineLA menu is sensational! Top notch ingredients expertly cooked and served by a knowledgeable wait staff. Do not miss deserts. The excellent wine list completes the dining experience. Unfortunately, this restaurant is noisy.
Our first time at Mistral. It was a wonderful meal. The food. Was well prepared and delicious and the service was first rate. The tables are very close together—it felt like we were all at the same table. I found the chairs uncomfortable however my wife was sitting on the banquette and found it comfortable.
All in all, it was a great meal and we will definitely return!
I have lived in the "valley" over 40 years, have driven by this lovely and quaint restaurant hundreds of times. I had no idea what a gem this restaurant is. I am thrilled they joined Dine LA or I would never have eaten here and I will certainly return. The owners and staff were meticulous and watchful for any need we had. The food was phenomenal and generous - we were very full! I love the French ambiance, the chandeliers, finely finished hardwood bar, open but cozy seating area. I ordered the scallops and they were like butter. I also had the smoked salmon for appetizer and the chocolate souffle. Wow what a meal!
Love this place! Food is always delicious. Service excellent. It is a little bit noisy
Have been going to Mistral for probably 30 years. It never disappoints. Never! The food and the service is always top notch.
There may be an occasion when you prefer a quieter dining experience, and here your options are to either plan with them in advance to insure a less busy day or time, or go elsewhere. The second option may seem preferable at first until you find that you're missing the lively atmosphere, which is of course, part of the charm.
Mistral is not snooty or judgmental. I once called ahead after a long and grueling day with co-workers and explained that it was late, we were tired, was raining and we looked like dogs. The gentleman on the other end of the line simply said "great, what time will you be here?"
We could not have enjoyed our recent Mistral's dinner any more than we did earlier this week. It was a perfect spot to celebrate my husband's birthday. Cocktails and French fries as well as their complimentary cheese puffs, fresh gaspacho, wine braised short ribs (and a delicious bottle of wine) and especially the chocolate soufflés were extraordinary!! Thank you to Raul and his wonderful crew!
Wonderful service! Food was superb! Such a pleasure to have music at an appropriate sound level (low)!
Dinner and service terrific. Seats are a bit small which is the only drawback.
We dine here when we have some extra money in the bank because the food, service and overall experience is superb.
The food was lovely but the service provided by Kayli and Alex was beyond compare. Both spent time with us, took great care in addressing our every need. Kayli was extremely helpful in navigating he menu...If you can, make sure these tow are taking care of you.
Birthday lunch with a girlfriend. Lovely restaurant with the old fashion ambiance and great service that’s hard to come by and hard to resist.
Clean and pleasant, easy and relaxing for lunch. I hear it is noisy at night. But I’m going to try it anyway with my boyfriend later next month.
The food was very well prepared and presented. I had the steak tartare that was not to my liking but I’m still interested in trying something different next time.
Mistral is always a delicious meal with fantastic service in a beautiful location. I would recommend a meal at Mistral to everyone!
It was delicious !!!
Wonderful as always- Mistral never disappoints!
Still excellent after all these years. Romantic, vibrant (but not deafening), excellent food, loyal servers. French inspired menu, many dishes authentically prepared in the traditional manner, but not stuffy. Good wine choices, and a full bar. My martini was perfection.
The food, service and drinks was amazing!
Defiantly, one of our favorites...everyone is so warm and welcoming. Definitely 5 ⭐️
It’s our favorite special occasion restaurant and has been for decades. It never, ever disappoints! Impeccable service, stellar menu, lovely ambience.
In spite of recent additions to the valley dining scene ,Mistral is still far the best. Best food, amazing service. Excellent wine list, great bar.The quality of ingredients is matched by the excellence of preparations.
Early evening reservations recommended,as the room gets very noisy.Prices at lunch are substantially lower.
Excellent service, ambiance and food. Everytime I come here, it never disappoints.
Love the food, the people and the ambiance. Always a good choice!
Went to Mistral on a Friday night for dinner and I ordered the escargots, the onion soup and the grilled octopus salad and everything was delicious. Their service was amazing and I will definitely be back!
The matte'd Raul always greets you at the door with a warm welcome, or the owner, Henry is there to mingle with the customers! The waiters are well trained, will make any changes to the menu that you want and are there to please and make your dining experience a wonderful one. The food is always delicious from the mustard chicken, dover sole, salmon, or the steak and the food is always plentiful - you won't go home hungry. They have a bar and wonderful wines to choose from.
Excellent service, food was perfectly prepared.
Great quality, great service. Worth every penny.
Good food and service
As is the case with small restaurants in general, the ambience can be a touch loud
Mistral has been a favorite since my wife and I married 27 years ago, and it was the perfect place to celebrate our 27th anniversary. We were still welcomed like family, even all these years later, and the food was delicious! One of the great things about this place is its classic approach; they don’t fix what ain’t broken. Everything is exactly as I remembered it. I’m a diehard fan of their Chicken with Dijon Mustard Sauce, and I think they have one of the best Caesar Salads around. Everything tastes every bit as fantastic today as it did when we first discovered the place in 1991. We moved from the area awhile ago, and even semi-joked about moving back to Sherman Oaks just so we could have Mistral as our neighborhood restaurant again. Love, love this place!
Was w a big group(9-10), sorry to say I ordered their least priced red wine bottle. Never did I think that after letting it breath for a half hour or so that it would taste worse than apple cider vinegar! How could s nice establishment seek at any price such s bad BAD tasting wine?
Sadly I ended up spending more on wine because most everyone asked the waiter for a diff glass of wine and he easily gave them the most expensive at $22 a glass.
Anyway, all their wines no matter what price should taste great enough or even better. Just like any meal should taste great or excellent and not taste according to the price choices . Mentioned it to the waiter but he said it was too late to charge the wine to a better more expensive wine.
Disappointed in many ways
We are so pleased that this fabulous restaurant is located in our neighborhood! We had a delightful time and enjoyed such good food and excellent service.
Mistral ALWAYS hits the spot. Amazing and consistent French food in the neighborhood is always a win!
