We are so pleased that this fabulous restaurant is located in our neighborhood! We had a delightful time and enjoyed such good food and excellent service.
Mistral ALWAYS hits the spot. Amazing and consistent French food in the neighborhood is always a win!
fabulous food, great service.Pricey but worth it. The restaurant can get loud. Avoid peak hours.
I have been coming to Mistral for several years and it always spectacular!!
After more than 30 years around, Mistral continues being my favor restaurant in the Valley and one of the best of all the ones that I know in LA.
Food at Mistral is great of course, but food value can be a relative term, depends on our own taste and the type of food that we like. But for sure no other restaurant in LA offers better service than Mistral. The personal working at Mistral have been there for decades; Mistral has what I call 'real professionals'. It you want to have the best service when dinning, you got Mistral.
I've been to Mistral numerous times and have always enjoyed every minute of my time there and every bite of my food.
Food is excellent as is the service. Tables are small and closely spaced. Noise level is quite high. We had some difficulty conversing. But all that said, it is worth it for the food. I love onion soup and theirs is one of the best I have had. Instead of hot salt water with some onions in it which seems to prevail in so many places, this is the real onion soup. One can taste the broth. And the onions are lightly sweet. Excellent soup. Every dish was done to perfection. My wife's sea scallops were beautifully seared with that nice carmelized finish. Our friend's lamb chops were perfectly done and light seasoned giving the flavor of the meat a chance to shine...which it did.
We will definitely return to Mistral often.
Great food, AMAZING staff & delicious wine! Love this place.
The best example of a French Bistro LA has to offer. Great for any occasion and never disappoints.
Nice neighborhood restaurant for 2-4 adults, a bit noisy for conversation for any more than that.
Would not like to sit in any of the tables for two lined up in middle of the room, but the separate, round side tables for 4 are comfortable . The food, ambiance and service are very nice and we enjoyed our dinner. We will go back for lunch and dinner now that we have discovered Mistral's!!
Great restaurant. Best in the valley.
Always sublime. The Trout Amandine is perfect. The Steak au Poive! It’s like a little trip to Paris.
Love this restaurant. A gem in Sherman Oaks. Never had a bad meal.
We were seated at a table reserved for us on the occasion of my friend's birthday. Dinner was perfect, both the fish and the lamb. We were served a complimentary souffle for dessert. The wine selection was lovely. The service was perfect.
*Extremely* noisy. Small space and tables crowded close to one another. Ok but pretty expensive food. Management clearly favors regulars and the occasional celebrities than less frequent, non-celebrity customers.
Mistral is our “go to” place for so many different occasions with friends. Just a great place with wonderful food and super good service!
Great food--had fish, steak, souffle, and cheesecake. All were exceptional.
Had lunch this week; first time at Mistral. Can't comment on food beyond the one dish both I and my guest ordered. We both had the panko-crusted ahi tuna, and it was superb. The sauce was delicious. I'm anxious to go back to Mistral for dinner.
The Maitre D' was friendly as always. The steak au poivre perfectly cooked (rare) which is a rare accomplishment, most restaurants think rare means grey-pink. The desserts were excellent as were the various soups and salads. The only negative was our particular waiter who was efficient, but who never said "good evening," "may I take your order?" or "how was your dinner?" He felt just glaring at all 3 of us polite and nicely dressed guests constituted adequate interaction.
Excellent as always
Very cozy spot for dinner.
We always enjoy dining at Mistral. Their quality of food and service are consistent. Good choice of wines by the glass and a varied menu keep us coming back.
We recently discovered Mistral (even though it has been in business for 30 years). Great location, great value, really tasty food, and a fun place to meet. One of our favorite places is Ca de Sole. This is a good alternative. Wide selection of wine and entrees. Recommended.
We have been frequenting Mistral for some 29 years. Food has been consistently superb and service beyond compare. Bar is topnotch, the wine list has excellent choices. We are early birds, usually make 6 o'clock reservations. At that time the restaurant is very enjoyably quiet. It can get noisy later.
Mistral is by far the best restaurant in the SFV!.
Quaint/lovely restaurant. First time & definitely will return. Staff was terrific & food was delicious. Can't wait to try French onion soup next time!
Met a business colleague for a catch up dinner - reservation times were a little more limited for a Friday evening, but we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The service throughout was very attentive without being overly noticeable.
The food was delicious and the chocolate souffle was worth the calories.
The atmosphere was welcoming and lively without being overwhelming to conversation.
There is metered street parking options, but valet right out front too.
Hardly needs a review. This is a neighborhood favorite. Reserve your table a week or more in advance as this small restaurant fills up quickly. When you dine relatively early, as my husband and I often do, you have extra attentive service and your meals are quickly prepared. We were very happy with our entrees - my fish and his steak. We usually take part of our meal home to enjoy the next day, but we both cleaned our plates! I topped off my excellent dinner with a chocolate souffle. Wonderful meal, so we'll be back.
Mistral's is one of my "go to" restaurants! I am never disappointed. The service is professional and they aim to please.
Always lovely delicious and wonderful service
One of the Valley's Top 5 Restaurants. Fantastic!
I have eaten at Mistral several times and it is always the best!!
Great food. Always great service. The manager and the owner run the restaurant perfectly. The whole team has been together for years and it shows
Beautiful ambiance, amazing service, gourmet food.. One of the classiest places in the valley
Just a wonderful experience. The food was incredible and we can’t wait to dine here again for our next special occasion!
We have had the pleasure of dinning at Mistral quite often. The food and service is always right on. My wife and I look forward to going back.
The service was amazing, the staff was very friendly, as you walked in you are greeted instantly coming through the door. The food is out this world!!! Very romantic setting to celebrate a special occasion!
Always a terrific experience. I love this restaurant!
Great attentive service and the food is divine! Every inch a French bistro, wish it wasn’t so noisy..
I love this place. Great food. Great service. It used to be a "hidden gem", but it is getting very popular, even with the Hollywood set. About 2 months ago I saw Bryan Cranston. On my most recent visit, Andy Garcia was there.
The asparagus, arugula, artichoke salad is a must! The bread is always amazing. We enjoyed the veal Milanese and short ribs. Both were prepared to perfection! We enjoyed nice wines that our server helped pair with our courses. We go to Mistral all the time and it is always special and new.
