James-Beard Nominated Chef and Local Food Activist Scott Anderson is breaking into the Philadelphia market, bringing his seasonally fared Mistral restaurant to the King of Prussia Mall.
Mistral opened its first location in Princeton, NJ in 2013, offering locals and passersby alike a stunning mix of taste, style and atmosphere. Food activists and culinary pioneer’s chef Scott Anderson and chef de cuisine Craig Poligano place a superlative emphasis on fresh, local ingredients, ultimately creating a progressive menu of seasonally curated small plates for guests to savor and share time and again.

Excellent service and bar. Our appetizers were a hit, but the main courses were disappointing.
The waiter was great. Food took a while. Ordered an $18.00 lobster roll, while the price may not seem that bad it was in a roll the size of a hot dog roll. Three of us ordered this and all had about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the roll leftover. Mine arrived with a completely blackened/burned side on the roll. The waiter returned it but when brought is back it seemed clear they had just cut off the blackened side as the bottom/side was still burnt. There were actually five of us, the portions on the pasta were very small also. Four of us had sangria and one had a beer. The bill was over $170.00 not including tip. Not much food, good service but pricey for what you get.
Hidden in plain sight on the edge of the King of Prussia mall between Neiman’s and L&T’s, this little gem (which can only be accessed from outside the Mall) had a creative and fresh menu, yummy cocktails and great staff with a low key ambiance. The Moroccan lamb and Quail appetizers were fantastic as was my Scallops for dinner. The Triple chocolate dessert was the perfect finish. I would definitely return!

What a disaster.. It was a quiet night before the 4th with only four tables occupied. There appeared to be only one person on the wait staff. He seemed to be training someone but was not communicative about why everything was taking so long. At one point I saw him behind the bar mixing drinks. A little insight into what was going on would have gone a long way. My sister said her scallops were tasty but the "large plate" was not large with 3 scallops and no significant vegetables added to the dish. I had the Bucotini with shrimp/crab/chorizo which was also advertised as a large plate but was served on a salad size plate. It was over salted and had no spice. We had no one come check on us or refresh our water. We would have stayed for more drinks and dessert had anyone cared to serve us. We ended up asking for the check and going over to Sullivan's for drinks and dessert. Mistral is a total miss.
My dish was excellent, lots of flavor, portions were perfect - not too much - not too little.
I was disappointed in the drink I had. They were out of the Red Sangria even though Thursdays are Sangria day. The White Sangria I had...not very good. Tasted like watered-down wine and seltzer...not much flavor and overpriced!
I thought the pricing was a bit high, but all in all, the service was good, and restaurant itself is very nice and pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely come here again and try other dishes.

Very good food and attentive service without hovering over the table. It was late lunchtime and the restaurant was sparsely populated so it was nice a quiet. Definitely worth a visit for an upgrade lunch
Very friendly staff, but lacking in service know how. Lots of lovely people but need to actually anticipate dining needs. Manager, train your people! Food was a bit hit or miss for the price and the emptiness of the place seems to indicate we weren't the only people with similar feelings.
The good was very good, but the portions were almost silly small. The scallop entree had two scallops. I didn’t expect enormous portions but these were almost appetizer sized. Likely will not be back, the food was good but not with the effort.
The food was amazing with some very interesting dishes. Highly recommended this place if you like to try new and different cuisine.
Average is the word we used to describe our experience, which is not the adjective I would associate with its sister restaurant in Princeton. The lamb skewers were a highlight, but the frittatas and toasts were standard issue, and the kitchen neglected to provide a part of one of our meals. We would have expected more pizazz from Mistral, especially with its bright, beautiful space.

My husband and I have eaten at the same in Princeton numerous times and have always really enjoyed it. In KOP the food was bland, sloppy and just not good. The service was friendly but we were mostly ignored and plates and flatware weren’t cleared before the Runner’s were trying to bring the next course. We had to collect our own dirty plates etc and then hand them to the runners after they placed our food.. Not only that the runners were holding up the food and asking “who has the chicken, who has...” At one point as they were placing the food instead of coming around the back of the table they reached across and his arm wasrubbed on my water glass Basically, the whole experience was just shockingly disappointing.
Small plates is what Mistral is all about. Beware the entrees are small plates also for $16 I got a cup of risotto at 6 bites later gone, not a lot of food for 16 bucks. Dessert: chocolate pannacotta, tiny, didn't taste like chocolate. Oh well there are only a dozen people there at 7 and we had a very quiet nice time
Mother’s Day brunch
RAW MEAT...BEWARE! Ordered lamb kebabs as an app that were completely raw inside. Apparently chef hasn’t taken a food safety course. Manager was appropriately apologetic and took care of the entire bill and the waiter was good, but the chef should be FIRED! Will never be back.
Very nice place, good service, food is ok. Very small menu. Poke bowl was very tasty and the lamb appetizer was delicious. Wings were tasteless and Branzino was bland. Good drinks.
Mistral continues to be inconsistent with their food. The brussel sprouts and burrata was excellent, as was my wife branzino. I ordered the burger and first the french fries came warm (at best) and had to be replaced. The burger itself, ordered medium, came well done and was extremely dry. This continues our trend of one good meal and one bad entree. I doubt we will go there again given the other dining options in King of Prussia. When we were leaving the host asked how things were and I told him. His response was "do you want me to tell the manager?". I walked away shaking my head, thinking why bother!
Food and service were excellent, but we felt like we were dining in a factory. Very cold-looking and extremely loud atmosphere...too much wood and hard surfaces with nothing to baffle the noise. And, please...paper napkins??? C’mon, it’s a moderately priced menu and upscale locale and it deserves linen, not paper. Will eat their good food again when they do take-out.
The location and the ambience was very nice but the food was ok. The small plates are much better than the large entrees. The portions are too small. Only recommending for the small plates and drinks.
The food was bland, service was ok.
The salmon was good as was the risotto. Fellow diner raved about the poached pears for desert. The Bronzino was so so. Service was OK but nothing to write home about. Although fellow diners commented portions are small but Ok for me.
Dinner was a little disappointing. Food was just ok.
3rd time, but sat at Bar, only ones at bar, bartender seemed like someone they just grabbed of the street he wasn't ral interested, away from the bar a lot, place was not busy, food took Forever, he kept apologising...gave us the wrong salad, apologised, but not on the bill. still gave him a 15% tip thinking maybe he was just filling in...
If we see him again, will head to a table instead or another restaurant...
Service was great. They were kind enough to remove an item of the bill that was pretty awful. In the end we really wanted to like Mistral but the food is not great. Nice bar, and friendly service but that's about it.
Not quite sure the low rating. I’ve been there several times. Food and service is fantastic!
The food is so well prepared at Mistral. I have never had even an average meal or dining experience there.
The ricotta toasts are light and delicious, house made spritzer was refreshing and smoky caesar salad with chicken was really good. Hostess and wait staff always attentive, but not over attentive which we like. Ambience is darling and relaxed. One of our favorite places for dinner in this area.
Mistral continues to be one of the most paradoxically dynamic and serene restaurants at the King of Prussia Mall. The staff is affable and skilled, the atmosphere is very lovely at any time of day, and the food is creative and delicious. Frequently our pick when we're in the region.

Ordered a rare burger and it came out medium well. What else is there to say?
Food portions were minimal. We went with 4 people. We were all laughing at our entree sizes. My husband's main entree was the size of a small appetizer. He was still hungry after an appetizer, beet salad, and fish entree. The chef sent out another appetizer for him for free. We had dessert and coffee and none of us felt full. The prices were high for what you get.
Very small portions, but big price tags! Definitely not worth the money. The Beet Salad was filled with roots and not many leafs. My friend's had lots of leafy greens. We pointed this out to our waitress but it didn't go any further than that.
Food portions were very small for the amount of money! Service was very slow! Server helping everyone else around us except us! Place was very nice and ambiance good. Fix those couple things and you have something.
I came to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. I grew up in Princeton and was familiar with mistral. We even ventured outside of Philly (where we live) for the dinner. The ambiance was great! Our server, will, was personable and knowledgeable of the menu. We went with his recommendation for the lamb appetizer and it was amazing !!!! The sauce made the dish and we asked for extra which was promptly dropped off. We also had the smoke Cesar salad which was a nice mix of flavor. For entrees we ordered the burger which came out a perfect medium rare and the mushroom risotto which was melt in your moth delicious. For dessert we had the banana cake with the caramel and ice cream, which was my boyfriends favorite dish of the night, we also had the chocolate panacotta but it was too bitter for our liking. Overall it was a great experience.
