My favorite restaurant in Boston
Business dinner, but could well have been an Anniversary, Birthday, or Special Occasion. I have been to Mistral twice in the past and remember great meals there; this visit was even better than I remembered. The tuna tartar and mussels appetizers are special; memorable. Best tuna dish I have had. Period. I split the Dover Sole entree and that was. a good move: Plenty of food and very tasty, with spinach underneath the fish (seasoned well) and the fish topped with a butter sauce. Great meal. Great service. Great atmosphere. I'll go back next time I'm in Boston.
Just an awesome staff. Everyone pays attention and takes guest seriously. Thanks
We went for our 30th wedding anniversary and were very pleased with food ,service ,cocktails and ambiance.
It’s always Amazing to have brunch at Mistral! The employees are Amazing!!
We used a gift certificate for brunch and invited our parents/inlaws to join us. First time there for all of us. We all truly loved all the food and would love to return so we can try other items on the brunch menu. Our server was excellent. Our table for four was comfortable.
Mistral had some of the best service and food that we have ever had! We will definitely be going back at some point soon.
We celebrated a birthday and it was the beautiful setting. The wait staff was attentive and the food timing arrived perfectly throughout the evening. We were never rushed and we were able to have conversation at the table without other tables hearing.
We had a great experience and hope to return soon.
Great food. Great location. Thoughtful services like door attendants and a coat/bag check which New England winter wanderers appreciate. We had to skip desert because we had a concert to attend and service was sorta like the Green Line. One of the demiservers asked if we wanted desert but it was too late. We will go back but only when we have a couple of hours for dinner.
We have always had great food, great service, and a fun time dining here. One of our favorite upscale "go-to" restaurants in Boston.
Mistral has their act together. From the prompt valet service, warm welcome, gracious bar, polished wait staff and amazing varied menu, a meal here is always relaxing and delicious. All members of the party had fish. Salmon and cod dishes were cooked perfectly accompanied by wonderful white wines by the glass. Meyer lemon tarts with fanciful meringue tops and chocolate sorbets finished the meal perfectly. One of my favorite "go to" restaurants for frequent dining.
Our waitress was not up to the quality that we would have expected. She was curt and not very helpful. The tables for four are arranged in such a way that it is impossible for the wait staff to access the two diners seated on the corner near the wall thus having to pass everything across the other two diners.
Dover sole for $68 seemed very pricey for what it actually was. Good traditional meurniere sauce but was nothing really interesting.
Fabulous food, wonderful service, fine wine and drinks. One of the best dining experiences I've had lately. Definitely not inexpensive, but we really enjoyed ourselves.
Food was excellent. We ordered three different entrees and all were very well done. The baked goodies were really good. A bit noisy, but not too bad. Place was packed with people of all ages.
Amazing! Hands down the best meal I have ever had. It would be hard to beat. Highly recommend the tuna appetizer.
Always fabulous and consistent. One of the best in the cities.
No possibility to move to another table even though we had an early reservation and there were many empty tables. Only explanation was that they were all reserved. Of course they were, as was our table, but why did we have to have that particular reserved table? (It was too noisy there). Maybe there was a good reason, but the reserved status was all the hostess and our waitress were willing to share.
The manager was just rude. I had worked late and we flew in that day so I fell asleep on my husbands shoulder. The manager came over and said "people are commenting that your wife is asleep" There was no need for that Im quite certain no one commented. He embarrassed my husband and I.
This was a great time for my wife’s birthday and she loved it.
Food was amazing as was the service
great service, nice upscale ambience, food was a little disappointing: dishes sounded great in concept on menu but less so in execution
Awesome food!!! First courses are so good, we ordered all first courses did not get to entree’s!!! Next time!!
It was perfect... from food to service to ambiance!! Simply excellent!
A favorite in Boston. Great food, good service. I will be back.
Wonderful as always
Mistral can not disappoint me. Service was amazing as always and food was spectacular!
You really made my day. It was my husband’ birthday. The waiter mentioned the comments written in the reservation and said happy birthday to my husband, which really made my husband surprised. Also it allowed me to order the desert in advance. My husband was shocked when a waiter bringing the cake with candle. Thanks so much.
really good food, but other than that not as impressed given the price
As always a great place to dine!
As usual, brunch was wonderful! The food was great, the service attentive, but not intrusive. It is the perfect Sunday brunch spot.
What an amazing experience! My boyfriend and I had brunch on my 33rd Birthday. Mistral is an upscale dinner restaurant that also serves brunch. It was the best brunch I've ever had in Boston! I had the Confit of Duck with a mimosa, and he had chocolate chip pancakes with Nutella banana and plantains. We ended with a cappuccino & hot chocolate with a home made marshmallow, paired with creme brulee donuts and cinnamon rolls. The staff was genuinely amazing, I would recommend this location to anyone!
Amazing food and atmosphere!! Great time with friends
Excellent food and service. We will definitely go back for other meals. A nice varied menu
Absolutely loved this restaurant, phenomenal food, wait staff, and ambiance. 5 stars.
I heard such great things about this place but left rather disappointed. The food and service was good but didn’t live up to the “OMG” hype. Nothing really special about my $58 Rack of Lamb and Tuna Tartar app was decent but not as mind blowing as reported. Long waits for service and not especially attentive until entree was served. Meh.
So good. My favorite restaurant in Boston. Truly exceptional!
This is my second time having brunch at Mistral. Well Mistral wanted my review so here it is :
PRO: decor. Woodsy. Garden feel. Thumbs up 👍
Con : lukewarm hot chocolate topped with charred marshmallow , ( s/b toasted). I did return and hc was much warmer . Please , please add side power greens with a tossed light dressing on all your entrees. I think it would add look , taste and go with the woodsy theme. BTW please visit a restaurant in Easton Mass “ Farmers Daughter” for breakfast , you would be so enriched with ideas, the place is amazing ! Lastly , ordered 1 order of donuts to go , got Home and there were no chocolate pieces on top ( I ordered them previously) 👎 So what happened ? Well that’s my review.
The food is out of this world. Phenomenal! Seating in restaurant feels cramped and service could've been more attentive considering the cost of the meal. It's expensive but if you're looking purely for good food, it's a good place to try out.
