We have been at Mistral many times and up to this point we have been very happy with both the food and the service. This holds true for this visit. They always want to please their customers so if there is even the smallest problem they fix it immediately. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
Ridiculously good. That beef pizza is something special
The restaurant attempted to cheat us. The waiter brought a bill that charged the two of us for a second whole bottle of expensive wine that we did not have. He gave us a brief apology and brought a revised check. But this sort of obvious cheating is not right in a high class restaurant.
Went there for my anniversary and enjoyed a serene environment with incredibly tasty food. Dessert Menu was out of this world.
Mistral was great. The food was delicious and priced accordingly. I’d go back and if you are considering going you’ll be happy if you do go. The tables are too crammed together making everything feel a bit cramped. Case in point, the waiter actually slammed his behind into my shoulder while working at the table next to us. He didn’t turn around to say sorry which I thought was rude. Also, our reservation mentioned we were there for our anniversary but he never said anything about it the entire meal. Our experience with open table reservations on our anniversary is this is noticed by the restaurant and they wish us a happy anniversary so I felt disappointed. Finally my wife mentioned that he had a lot of tables and was very busy. There were a number of times we wanted to talk with our waiter but he was so busy he wasn’t available unless we would’ve flagged him down. I wouldn’t expect a situation like that at a dinner that cost $400 for two people. Still, from a pure food perspective our meal was great. Isn’t that mostly what we care about?
Love this place!! So delicious, and the wait staff is truly honest with their recommendations.
Amazing as always. Can’t wait to go again!!
Everything was fabulous! Loved that my daughter and I could share/split our dinners and the waiter didn't make us feel cheap. We just can't eat that much food. Portions were perfect and surprisingly generous considering we shared. Hip/sheek ambience!! A little over priced but well worth it!!
Fantastic food and amazing service. Perfect date night.
Excellent experience, we had not been to mistral in many years and had a fantastic evening . Service was outstanding !
This restaurant never disappoints. From the time we entered, everything was perfect. From the drinks at the bar before dinner, our lovely bartender was wonderful. Our server so great, food was outstanding! A perfect 10.
The brunch is phenomenal at Mistral! Everything was sooo delicious and the service was outstanding as well! Can’t wait to come there for dinner!
Very nice evening for something special. Very good food, wonderful service from Alexis, good wine, and lovely setting. A bit loud but not awful. Wine list excellent but tends to the pricey side. Overall a nice night out for something sort of special.
Everything was great except the party next to us was seated way too close, with their backs against our table.
Mistral used to be my wife’s favorite restaurant, we hadn’t been in a while and were excited to go back.
The experience was overall disappointing - service was just okay as was the food.
Likely won’t return as there are much better options particularly given the cost
Yusef is a server we have had the pleasure to be with previously. This is a place to come back to which we do every year! Always quality and never changes in its attention to detail and scrumptious cuisine.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food + friendly staff.
This is my favorite french restaurant in Boston. Food is tasty and atmosphere is awesome!
Waitstaff was very accommodating since we came with a young child and totally understood that the meal needed to be ordered and served prior to the adult's meals. Wonderful brunch.
After having Mistral recommended several times I finally made the trip and it did not disappoint. The staff was attentive, the food outstanding, and wine recommendations spot on. Will definitely be back again for another special occasion.
All good! Lovely meal with friends—meeting on a weeknight for company and food. We used the “excuse” of a birthday but actually just enjoy making time to get together given competing work, time & space.
...but the important common denominator is we all love good food.
My husband’s first time and he really enjoyed his meal. Also the noise levels allowed us to actually converse without yelling.
For the rest of our party of 4, this was one of multiple fine meals at Mistral. We will return again
The food and service were excellent! Our server, Edwin I believe, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. I definitely recommend Mistral if you ever visit Boston.
I went with a friend after work and we sat at the bar to eat. The service was horrible and nasty. The food fantastic, but the service terrible. Had to wave down the lead bartender, verbally, multiple times. She refused to even make eye contact. Won’t be back there. Too bad, too, because the food is excellent.
Best Brunch in USA this is what a brunch is about!!!
Excellent experience, very romantic. We had a great time.
Mistral I Always an Amazing Dining Experience. Love it❤️❤️❤️
Our server, Edwin gave us excellent advice and service which made our Anniversary dinner more special.
Thank you for a memorable evening!
Enjoyed their brunch. Very calm peaceful morning. Small things could have been more elegant, such as better quality coffee, or perhaps fresh juices. The bread was standard, but nothing special.
The duck hash vegetable skillet with poached eggs was phenomenal. The rosemary, gruyere omelette was good, nothing special. We shared the bacon onion and gruyere pizza which was very nice.
Service was quite good, but again, not to the level anticipated for a fine restaurant.
Missing on a few minor points. Still, quite pleasant. I will return.
David our Server was Excellent-knowledgeable & attentive! Food portions are small & not worth the price.
Our waiter was absolutely amazing! he looked like Drew Carey (I think his name may have been Ken?) and was so accommodating and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Food was awesome, wife got salmon and I had braised short ribs. Caesar salad was one of the best I had ever had. Great cocktails too. I would absolutely go back and recommend to others!
Wonderful Food and somehow they found out my Birthday was a few days before and brought me out a complimentary Sorbet with Happy Birthday written on the plate!
Great and tasty food and very good service, but not so “creative” as you might expect from an elite and pricy cuisine.
Really mediocre experience which was a huge disappointment since our last time there was fantastic dining experience.
To start things off my wife and I were both having fish, so I had narrowed my selection down to two white wines that were unoaked and asked the waitress for her thoughts. Instead of asking about my preferences she said, “I see what you’re trying to do…” and then steered me towards a white that was oaked. In addition to that she then pushed the most expensive bottle in each grouping. We finally ended up settling on a US Sauvignon Blanc which was nowhere near the wine that the Sancerre would have been.
The onion soup was excellent, and a generous serving (which is incredibly hard to find in restaurants). The escargot was cooked perfectly, but unlike the last visit the sauce was lacking richness, just garlicky and oily.
It really went off the rails with our entrées. The dover sole was overcooked and along the way I found a bone. The serving size is generous with two filets and a large serving of spinach but for 60 dollars I do expect it to be cooked properly and no bones especially for a dish that is a mainstay of their menu. The pan roasted cod was undercooked which again was a decent sized serving but poorly executed.
The server also seemed to be preoccupied with other tables and did not inquire as to how our meals were or I would have been more than happy to express our disappointment then.
This was a huge letdown after such a great experience last time.
My favorite all time brunch in Boston..
Incredible ambience and food. Service was slow and a bit snobbish, so that needs to improve. But the overall experience is still pretty great!
It was great. My favorite restaurant.
The evening could not have gone any better than it did. They even provided a car to return us to our hotel.
Decent food- was not in love with the overall vibe. There was paper on top of the white table cloth in order to flip tables quicker. I understand this is for efficiency purposes, but when I am out to brunch or dinner, I do not want to feel as though there should be crayons missing from the table set up.
This is a solid 3 but definitely not a 4.5 or 4 star experience.
