One of the best restaurants in Boston. Literally my ONLY gripe if they never change the menu except for very very few seasonal changes. Food is great but some items been on menu for 20 years. Come on.... :-) fillet mignon pizza is insane as is the tuna tartare. Beef carpaccio was way over dressed this time though.
Ambience was great, food was great, wine was even better!
Our waiter Patrick was outstanding
It was a perfect Sunday Brunch in every regard! Brian , our server, was professional and helpful.
The food at Mistral is consistently inventive and amazing. The graham cracker coated challah with nectarines was stellar.... and the farro and veggies and mushrooms dish with eggs and roasted potatoes was fantastic!
Food not as good as usual
Our food was fantastic, but we were disappointed in a few aspects of the service. First, we were very rushed! We ordered a salad that came within 5 minutes of ordering. It was an heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad, so it would have been nice to have bread with it, but they forgot to bring us our bread. They cleared those plates as soon as we were finished and then our entree came out immediately. We had ordered a very nice bottle of wine and weren't even done our first glass, but our meal was done. Can't say enough great things about the food itself and its presentation, but to be rushed like that in a restaurant of this caliber was disappointing.
This restaurant is amazing. We are from New Orleans and fine dine a lot and Mistral ranks up there with any of the better restaurants we have visited. I had the tuna tartare, which may be the best I've ever had. My husband had the foie gras, which he will get whenever it is available and was blown away. I had dover sole for my entree and ate every bite. This is truly a great restaurant.
Service was good and food was delicious
Perfect as always👍
looking for french food with a twist? This is the place to come! Food is amazing! we had the escargots (definitely not your typical recipe, be prepared to be suprised!) and the prime sirloin carpaccio (delicious!), next we had duck (very generous serving!) and the shrimp risotto and crab ravioli (very fresh and yummy flavors). Dessert was good too, we had small desserts and they were good! Our waitress was very friendly! Definitely worth recommending
Birthday brunch with 2 small children. Service was impeccable. Matt did an outstanding job taking care of us. We love dining here for special occasions and will be back!
I went to Mistral for a romantic dinner to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. It is pricey but if you want an escalated experience it is worth it. The food was delicious and the ambiance was wonderful. Will definitely go back for another special occasion in the future!
Very nice! Service is probably what makes this place exceptional. Food is delicious too, except for the Escargot (they put some black bean (?) sauce, not nor just garlic butter like elsewhere, which did not taste great to me. Other than that the duck and crab ravioli were delicious.
As usual the food was fabulous at Mistral. Our table was terrible, however, despite the fact that we reserved in advance and that we are local business people who frequent the restaurant often. The table was next to the hostess station, near the door, not very nice, I expected better.
Fantastic in every way- always consistently wonderful- food and service.
What a wonderful evening ! All of the staff were extremely Accommodating, Professional and Friendly ! The room was magnificent and I appreciate a quiet atmosphere with respectful patrons. I have hearing loss and difficult to hear conversations in a noisy room. Mistral selected a perfect table for my wife and me. The dinner was quality and also pleasing to the eye. Truly a culinary adventure ! Did I say they also have a wine list for the beginner to the well educated Sommelier ? There was a wide variety of main courses foe every taste. We will definitely be return to Mistral. Also, the bar looked classic and inviting. The staff made our Anniversary Dinner truly enjoyable and the deserts . . . Oh my ! Thank you Mistral, you definitely lived up to your reputation.
Used to be a lot nicer. Felt tired. Great apps/wine, entrees not that exciting.
Birthday dinner was excellent and food and service was superb as usual
Awesome everything was just spectacular
I no longer dine out regularly but when I do my go to place has always been Mistral. Place is terrific; people, ambiance, service and food all top shelf. Price point is too high of course but it is high end Boston; hopefully the service staff is well compensated from the high end pricing. Last visit my date left her car keys in my car when I checked it with the valet. Valet took both my keys and hers. When we left the restaurant at 10:30 and drove back to north shore we realized her keys must still be with valet. Called, keys were at valet. Hostess grabbed the keys and waited until 12:30 a.m. for us to drive all the back from north shore and ran the keys out to my car. YOU CAN'T FIND BETTER SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO AN EMPLOYER THAN THAT. THANK YOU DANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was very good. Service was just ok. Table was in a terrible place so hard to go to the restroom.
Best restaurant in Boston.
First time at this restaurant... food was delicious. Only complaint would be to close to other diners. Good bar and good drinks. Excellent service.
Birthday celebration dinner. Highly recommended
The food, the atmosphere, the servers were all top notch. Mistral is one of my favorite places to dine.
Also, the valet service was friendly and caring of my auto.
We thought we were going to the French restaurant... but it’s not a French! there was no French soup on their menu... corn soup was available ! The service was good, the tuna tartare was okay; i ordered lamb , medium rare($58), it was not prepared right temperature - medium well; but the most surprising was the side dish: it was a cold green beans salad with row onions , olives , feta cheese and tomatoes — horrible!!! Horrible!!! I hope the chef will read more cooking books about the French cousin. Will not recommend this place as a French restaurant. I think it is a Mexican or Greek cousin.. Sorry,..
Great staff and welcoming decor. Very attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. I’d definitely recommend for a lovely experience.
Wonderful food , service and atmosphere
We had a fantastic dinner. The food and the service was superb.
Outrageously good. From service to food one of the best dining experiences ever. We had a 6PM reservation so the dining room was just starting to fill in as we were finishing. We had escargot, Dover Sole and beef tenderloin all prepared perfectly. Desserts were spot on. All of the servers were attentive and super friendly. One of the managers stopped by our table at the end of our meal for genuine feedback on our dinner experience. Even though we did not valet park the valet helped keep an eye out for our Uber ride. After a bunch of good to very good experiences at other high end restaurants, this dinner stands head and shoulders above them all. I really can’t say enough good things about our experience there.
Everything was perfect
Made a very enjoyable evening with family
WOW! I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time and so saved it for a VERY special occasion. Mistral was a perfect setting to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday! The waiter was so attentive and fun as were the backwaiters. The food was TO DIE FOR - try the tuna tartare and the duck! And the special scallops main dish was soooooo yummy! The desserts were beautiful and tasty. Thank you for making our night special. Oh - and I am sad I missed the Mistra fries - next time! And I wish I could have your cappucinos every day - the foam was so light, overflowing, dry and PERFECT!
It was a special occasion (wife's birthday) and was a great choice. Wife had salad and salmon which she exclaimed was the best ever. I had white asparagus and scallops. Both fine. The white asparagus very fresh and crunchy. The scallops cooked just right over a colliflower pure and morel mushrooms and a beurre blanc sauce. Shared profiterole for desert. Each had a nice sauveignon blanc and finally coffee.
Service was outstanding.
Just the right place for a special occasion. Not cheap but worth it.
I was actually disappointed with our service tonight. I’m the type of person that never complains and has a lot of patience, but I feel like I have to say something. First of all, the food was great. Really enjoyed everything we ordered. However, the service was awful. This was a special occasion where I was taking my girlfriend out for her birthday. Our server completely ignored us. In the span of 2-3 hours our server came to our table three times. She served and tended to every single table around us multiple times. We asked for our dessert menus and her response was “oh, when you’re done with your meals I’ll bring them.” We had both finished our plates and waited 35 minutes before our backup server even cleared our plates. We waited Another 15 minutes before we even got our menu. On top of that, They charged us for her dessert and only put a small candle in the cake. On a night that was supposed to be special and celebrating my girlfriend, they couldn’t have made her feel any less special. Would not recommend this place for any special occasion.
Top 10 in Boston. Always an excellent experience.
Food was amazing. Best foie gras we've ever had. Rack of lamb was also great. Tender and juicy. Perfectly prepared.
Excellent service as always! Thank you!! We always enjoy our times at Mistral.....
We had a smooth and seamless dinner from reservation to final payment. For a restaurant that has been operating for about 22 years, we were impressed by its capacity to maintain a high level of quality for more than two decades. The food was excellent-flavorful and fresh. There is a great wine list although it is pricey. It was moderately loud in the dining room so conversation was challenging but nevertheless manageable. All in all a superior dining experience.
Our server was fine, however the too had too many seats and it was difficult for them to maneuver around the tables. Also, the noise level was deafening
For a superb French dinner in Boston, it is hard to beat Mistral. Excellent service and beautifully prepared and tasty food. What more can you ask for?
