Mister Tuna, a nod to the nickname of Chef Guard's father, evokes the feeling of a family with shareable dishes cooked over an open wood fire. Whether grabbing a craft cocktail at the bar, digging in to fresh oysters and poke at the chef's counter or hosting dinner with Ohana in the main dining room, Mister Tuna offers a culinary variety fit for every palate in an urban setting.

Horrible service. The portion sizes are the smallest I've ever seen. I wouldn't recommend to anyone unless someone is looking to wait 30 minutes for their first drink and over an hour for their first "appetizer".
I had heard great things about Mister Tuna and was excited to go but given how easy it was to get a reservation I should have known it might not live up to that expectation. I wanted to like it but the service was poor and the appalling bad acoustics made a half empty restaurant so noisy that it was hard to hear my friend. The food was weirdly too sweet in all the courses and when the check arrived the bill was very high for a small unsatisfying meal. I hope for other diners’ sake they can get back to when this place was good but I don’t plan to return.
I love Troy Guard’s restaurants and was really excited to try Mr. Tuna. The food was amazing, but was incredibly expensive for the size of the plates. I’ll stick with TAG or Guard and Grace!
Left $100 out of pocket and still hungry. Food portions way too small and what little food we were served, some could not be eaten bc it was so rich.
We absolutely love Mister Tuna. This is our first time not going during restaurant week and they didn't disappoint. I'm on the Keto diet and they were very accommodating with all of my questions. Make sure you get the mushrooms with the steak and definitely order the burrata.
Service was slow, so much so that the waiter apologized for. We were there for a birthday, which the waiter acknowledged. At this price point it’s disappointing that the restaurant did not take either of those opportunities to make up to or ‘treat’ its customers.
Food was very salty. Slightly expensive for the portions. The favor combinations were creative and worked well together. All in all a decent dining experience.
They easily accommodated our large party and the chef prepared an impeccable feast. Every dish was better than the next. Highly recommend the Tuesday Test Kitchen tasting menu to get something special, but every dish on the regular menu is a hit, too.
Our server Sam was sweet and attentive, and the bartender whipped up great cocktails. They even had delicious mocktails for our non-drinking/pregnant dining companions.
Amazing food, and great atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are not in a hurry. Been here a few times (the food is outstanding), however the service is quite slow.
Great service and an awesome atmosphere. The food was below average and very expensive given the quality. I wouldn’t go back.
Way too expensive for what you get. The food was just ok. The price would be understandable if the food was amazing, but it’s not. After spending $60/ per person on food, we left very hungry. We could have had a very nice meal for that price. I wasn’t impressed at all, and won’t go back.
Booking with open table there is no option to ask for an inside or outside table or the chef's bar. According to the snotty Host/"manager" at the front desk there is. Either way, make sure to type in your preference. I was called by a hostess and asked if a 'Todd' had changed our seating preference to outside. Of course not, it's raining. When we arrived we were seated at a cocktail table. The food, hostesses and server more than made up for the attitude and inconvenience. Everything we tried was outstanding!
I ordered the crab "tapas". When served, the waiter dumped the bowl of melter butter all over the crab + salad. Didn't bother me at first. After a couple bites of salad, I noticed how much butter I was eating and stopped. Too late. Gut bomb struck!
Honestly really horrible service, the server basically forgot about us. Decent food though.
Went for birthday dinner
Food was very late. They got our order wrong on drinks and food. Orders of drinks took 45 min so we ordered bottles of wine to save face for our business guests. Portions were so small that after we paid a $500 tab for 6 people we went to another restaurant to eat. Other tables looked unsatisfied as well.
They may have had an unfortunate staffing night which is understandable, but I don’t foresee our company going back there again.
Good food but really small portions. The size and pricing on the ceviche was silly.
Always love the creativity and presentation of the food! Awesome atmosphere, fun and great drinks!!
Great food, cool ambience, good table service, but bar service was very, very slow
Overall the food was great but expensive for the amount that is served.
When first opened this place was amazing, but has dramatically gone down hill
On one hand this place is something of a poster child for the overpriced share plates trend. Service is variable, and the industrial-chic decor could use a refresh. However...we also find the menu compelling and unique, and most dishes are executed very well. The variety of tuna options is fun, oysters are great, and grilled octopus is a standout. Remains a solid choice in this part of RiNo.
Mister Tuna is my favorite restaurant in Denver. Incredible ingredients put together very skillfully, their dishes are out of this world. My favorite is their seafood dishes, but even their sides and non-seafood dishes are incredible. The gnocchi last night was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Their seafood is fresh, they have great presentation and the chefs are very kind. Highly recommend!
Service was unusually slow (30 minutes before our drinks came) but the wait was well worth it once the food came. The Crab and Duck were excellent as was the Gnocchi. Hopefully it was just an off night, we will return.
Food portions are comical. If you like pretending your eating at a fancy restaurant go here
We went to Mister Tuna with some coworkers/friends on Wednesday night. The food at this restaurant is unbelievably good. The service we had that night was pretty poor. However, I have to say, they got inundated with two gigantic parties just prior to us arriving. It took us forever to get drinks. This server was really good and I understood the situation he was in and he communicated it well. So I can’t fault the server as he was trying very hard. The manager offered to Pay for a round of drinks. This was very nice and not expected, however, they forgot to take it off the bill. They got it cleared up and all was good. I do believe the service we received is not indicative of the restaurant in general. I think it was a situation issue. Do not let this review deter you from going to Mister Tuna. It is an incredible restaurant with great food and great atmosphere and we will be back again for sure.
Great Wednesday music. Food is delicious!!! Great vibe.
Incredible food. Great service. Cocktails are amazing. Good date destination.
Staff was very knowledgeable about the menu, with good recommendations. The food was very good, but most plates portions were extremely small, yet prices were what you would expect for a full meal! It was difficult to have a conversation due to noise level.
Mister Tuna’s service was absolutlely amazing. Thanks to Colin, Tyler, Michael (raw bar chef) and Diego - Wilson
Great new Urban vibe in Rino.
Great experience! We sat at the Chef’s counter (highly recommend) and watched all the food be made! The GM was awesome! Very personable and knows his stuff.
The food is always delicious, but we felt that the portions have gotten significantly smaller...
The food was not good :( and the service as so so.
Love the entire menu! We got to try nearly everything because we had a group of 5 and all plates are intended to be shareable. There was truly no bad dish! Will definitely be back!
This place is always amazing! One of the top restaurants in Denver that actual gives you a bang for your buck!
There’s 6 of us for dinner. We ordered 15 plates and we seriously couldn’t find any dish that was a winner. The duck was super sweet, the macaroni with the kahlua pig was super vinegary. I understand it’s tapas style but the portions were just not as good. I’m glad we got to try it. Been meaning to for the longest time. Now that we have, we don’t have to go back.
Our server, I believe her name is Sam, was slow to attend to our table throughout the meal and was condescending at the end, ruining the vibe of the great meal. We loved the pleasant surprise discovery of the musician Lyle Divinsky
Always delicious, creative food from Troy Guard. This is my go-to place for variety and freshness.
