Establishment was closed for renovations however they did not update their open table. I arrived with my party and the doors were locked and I was told they were closed for 3 weeks. We had to scramble to find other accommodations last minute. Very unprofessional
Yes I would recommend MIST to a friend. I plan on returning.
When my party and I arrived, from out of town, we found Harlem Mist to be CLOSED! There were advertisement posters on the window promoting brunch on the weekend, which we were there for.
I had spoken to them about a week prior to the event and was told they would be open. I received an e-mail one day prior to the event asking to confirm my attendance. In which I did and if my plans change to notify them.
One the day of the event, there was no type of communication regarding them being closed down! I called two different numbers that I found on the day of the reservation, but neither line was accepting calls.
I’m highly annoyed, having traveled from out of town and very far to find them closed.
I had a reservation for 1:30 and no one was there the place was closed !!!!! This was was just terrible never again
I made a reservation to visit for the first time on a Friday night. I needed to change my reservation time so I called (you can’t change it online) and nobody picked up. When my party arrives it’s a lounge/club with a buffet set up with literally only meat. The regular menu looked enticing but I will not be returning.
We went to Mist with our teenagers for lunch, and it was nothing like we were expecting. It looked closed, the greeter told us that we could enter but it was not kid friendly, explicit language, and a bar? Confusing.
I wish they add fried fish to the meal. As another seafood option.
Very live and out going friendly dance hall drinks expensive but food was Kool clean ladies room ☺️
Worst dining experience ever!! We were there for dinner and a show. There were no tables available for our dinner reservation at 8:30 but the show didn’t start til 10:00.
The Restaurant section wasn’t open and we had to choose between finding seats for the show OR eating. We ended up dragging our own chairs into the area for the show.
My friend went to the front to order food. They were short staffed so food took 45 minutes to come. Since there were no tables we ate our food with our plates in our laps!!
Honestly my beyond burger was pretty good but some of my sweet potato fries were not cooked. The wait staff did the best they good and our dishes were taken away right away. I was so looking forward to dinner there because the menu looked so appetizing. Oh btw the menu was not the same as online so I had to settle for something else. Final thought I was Soooo disappointed. Needless to say I will never return to MIST
Staff is very friendly and helpful. DJ and music was superb. Very very nice place to attend
It was close
Very Dark Place
Large Room with No ambience
Cooking area like a luncheonette
Mist was closed to a private event that night but open table allowed us to book the reservation. We went there and were super disappointed regarding.
David Murray is certainly recognized as one of the most gifted musicians and his band met all the expectations that come with such high acclaim ! Mist is an ideal setting for Jazz in Harlem with great aesthetics. The bonus is the absence of annoying chit chat from attendees that so often ruins listening in some clubs in NYC!
Highly disappointing and not what I expected at $55/person compared to other buffet style Sunday brunches I've been to. I didn't expect to be wanded and patted down at the door before even going in like it was a nightclub (it was Sunday afternoon after church). I didn't expect to pay the $55 entry fee before getting anywhere near the dining room and getting a glimpse at what they were serving. I didn't expect getting a wrist band that they marked at the serving station to make sure you don't come back to the serving station for any more food. The brunch menu was limited and consisted of fried wing pieces, bacon, eggs, macaroni and cheese (awful), and french fries. With the limited options, I didn't expect that they would run out of food and having to wait on line until they brought out more chicken wings. I also didn't expect with the horrible service that the server at the buffet line would be bold enough to ask for a tip as I'm waiting patiently for them to bring out food (no, you can't help yourself to the food as most buffets do). While this was buffet style, I did expect that there would at least be a wait staff filling your glass with water and asking if you want coffee like most places. There was no wait staff, no water, and no coffee. Hell there were no glasses on the table. You had to go find it yourself (still never found coffee). An hour and a half of brunch cocktails did come with the brunch (mimosa, bellinis, rum punch). But you had to get up and go to the bar to get it after trying to catch the bartenders attention. For $55/person I didn't expect such poor service, poor and limited food options, and such low professionalism. Will never go back, nor recommend this place to any friends or family. We must do better!
I had such an amazing experience here. I was looking for a nice place to bring my upstate friends to for a nice brunch and day party. Let’s just say we hit the jackpot with this location. You definitely get what you pay for and much more. The staff was amazing. Chef Rock was so patient and provided great service to each and every guest. The security guard, Tony was also amazing. I will definitely be back and will be sure to tell my friends about this new gem I found. :)
My friends and I attended the "Everyone Loves the 90s" Brunch Day Party and had a blast! Though it was understaffed and somewhat disorganized, the food was good and the music was great! Our waiter did his best to serve us in a timely manner and made sure to acknowledge my b-day which was nice.
I would return for another brunch event and potentially dinner to check it out at another time.
Great show. Servers were overwhelmed. The food was very good. Mist could use more server/ kitchen staff. Fun atmosphere.
I gave it three stars because the food was good and the place was very nice..but as far as the services and the drinks it was terrible.
Venue and location is great. Pricing is reasonable.
Service sucks, lack customer service, no communication or directive from staff. There is alot of potential, please consider a business consultant for ideas. Best of luck!
We enjoyed our appetizers, dinner and dessert, but had no idea they charge a cover to get into the place, whether or not you have a dinner reservation. The cover charge was to experience the other events they have (after work dance and bar area) which I did not utilize.
Overall the venue was very good and would definitely go back. The food was the star of the show with many excellent dishes, however, to tell a person they can have only one piece of chicken is something I’ve never heard of. A limit is expected, but not the limit of a child. The taste of the food somewhat made up for that. The service was very unsatisfactory and the pricing was misleading. Upon arrival the “cashier” seems bothered and not welcoming, as well as not interested in explaining the confusing plastic covered price menu in front of her. From there doesn’t explain where to go and never smiles or makes you feel good about spending the $45 or $55 you just paid her. In addition to that the $55 option was for the grill and her answer to the items were “to be determined.” Most people would like to know what they are spending extra money on, I would think. The drinks were moderate. The runner up of the venue was the DJ/music as well as the ambience outside. Great music and the vibe was a good one.
HELL NO. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND THE FACT THAT THEY MAKE UP THE RULES AS THEY GO IS SICKENING. THEY ADVERTISE THE EVENT AS ONE THING BUT IT WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ON THE DAY OF.
First time I been to MIST I would never go back, never would I recommend someone to go there. They don’t seat you. They serve you food as if they are feeding a child. It was just horrible !!!!
WANTED TO MAKE THE RESERVATION FOR 10 BUT WAS NOT ALLOWED THAT QUANTITY ONLINE SO I MADE IT FOR 8 AND ADDED NOTES THAT IT WAS FOR A PARTY OF 10. EXPECTED SOMEONE TO CAL BUT NO ONE DID SO I CALLED THE FOLLOWING DAY ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE EVENT WAS CANCELLED (replaced with a private event) BUT WAS IN ERROR NOT REMOVED FOR THE WEBSITE. THIS WAS THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT SO THIS WAS A GREAT INCONVENIENCE. MOST PEOPLE HAD CANCELED OTHER EVENTS TO ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT EVENT FOR OUR FRIEND/ CO-WORKER WHO WAS GOING AWAY AND THIS WAS OUR "LAST HORAY". THIS PLACE CAME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SO I WAS GRAVELY DISAPPOINTED.
The only thing i didn't like, is the information that was listed on their website regarding brunch pricing options were not available at the place. they only had two choice options for brunch, $45 and $55. when online it stated $29,$35,$45,& $55. But overall the food was excellent as were the portion. and the $45 came with 1.5 of drinks. The rum punch was my go to.
Even though not crowded the dj did a really good job and my friend and i enjoyed watching the old school music videos on the screen at the bar as the dj played. We found out about the back room where there is a dancefloor, and spent the rest of our time there. We had fun at the end of the day. I can't forget the overall space, it's huge and very nice.
It was my first time at MIST and I was disappointed by the slow service and subpar food. Though there were only a few people in the restaurant, it took about 5-6 minutes to be seated and much longer than it should have to have my drink and food order taken. May not come back, unfortunately. :(
Our table was not ready. A larger party was reserved and arrived before us. They were seated and eating when we arrived.
I was asked to allow them a few minutes while they "pushed some tables together".
All drinks were wine based and there was no premium alcohol. Only house rum for rum punch. It would of been perfect for someone who liked JUICE.
The buffet was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth $55.
What made it bearable was the AWESOME DJ.
Definitely would love a refund🙄
Arrived at 12:00 (reservation) and was informed that the restaurant was not open yet. Waited approximately 40 minutes until opening. For a brunch buffet I was not accustomed to 1. Paying for my meal before being seated, 2. Being served instead of serving yourself (although I understand I didn’t pay for unlimited offerings of food and drink), 3. Limited menu (no vegetables other that salad), 4. Watered down drinks. 5. My companion being told she would have to get up and get her own drinks. On the plus side, the food was good and seasoned well. One of the cooks (African American woman) was really attentive and cordial. Would get take out if they offered it but pass on this restaurant experience.
More than 80% of the entrees on the menu weren't available. Nonsjrimp, no lobster, no robs, no salmon. 3 of my froends wanted snapper...there was only enough for 2. Two of us ended up eating jerk chicken as an appetizer and jerk chicken as an entree because all they had available was jerk chicken. Its definitely not a place for dining. It is good if you like the smell of marijuana.
Bar Service Was A Little Unprofessional But The drinks Was Worth It
First of all it was mothers day, they ran out of food. The drink wasn't top shelf which wasn't stated in the flyer, the music/ sound system kept going out. I was just disgusted because I really thought this was a new nice Harlem spot. I'll stick to Angels, Harlem sapphire & Ricardo's over it.
Overall I had a great time, the events need better organization
Food was Delicious. Though for buffet style there were rules to the amount you could have. When looking online buffet shows as unlimited, but when you get there specific food was one plate only. Drinks were good. Bartender was nice. Once the groove got going music was enjoyable.
The food is delicious, the service however was really bad that night. I have been here before on more crowded evenings, and the service has never been a problem. For some reason, Saturday night was very slow and they weren't attentive. Everything else was great, food was amazing. We all enjoyed our meals thoroughly.
Oh my Lord...This was the worst birthday experience I've ever had...their were so many inconsistencies from the lack of waiter service, to being seated 45 minutes later, to the bartender the young girl with the scarf on her head sloppily and angrily slamming the glasses on the table because she served Sangria with no fruit and no ice...Mist you have to do better...you must regroup, retrain and redirect your staff..this is highly unacceptable to paying customers wanting quality service...however Trinia the chef thank you and Namaste...smh
Had a great time at Mist! Because of a private party the regular menu was limited but the food, server and setting was still fantastic! Will definitely be going back
A pretty wife with outstanding food and music with Reggie Wells spinning the sound of past and new along with some great friends equals a beautiful time at Mist. The waitress was far above superb will be back soon.
Keep it up Mist!!!!
Drinks were ok, food was good. Staff is friendly. Kinda forgot about us toward the end, but very helpful and personable
You need better customer service
The service sucks
No water was served
Noone came to our table
