Food was great!
The food came out so quickly after we ordered, and it was delicious! I had Queso Fundido w/ steak, and I have no regrets. It was a tuesday night so it wasn’t very busy, and the vibe was pretty lowkey.
Hadn't been to Mission in a long time, and decided we'd give it a try as we were looking for someplace with a lot of outdoor seating. Food was definitely overpriced, and pretty mediocre. Service was decent. Given the streetery setup right now, they've got tons of outdoor tables, which is really nice. But beyond that, hard pressed to come up with a reason to go back there given how many Mexican restaurants there are in the area.
Our host Michael seated us at a great table outside.
The crowd inside was energetic and the music lively!
Lilly, our server, was attentive and very friendly but didn't not hover.
Margaritas were great - made with real juice but not too sweet, and the nachos were the perfect size for 2 people.
great location with friendly staff and good food!
Food is decent. Service is mixed and often slow. Was a pretty reliable customer for years even during covid. This time there was an incident where my credit card went missing for hours and when I asked to see the manager the hostess told me I had to wait in one place only to later be told I was in the way. Hard to feel like a valuable customer when someone rolls their eyes as you politely ask for someone to look again for your card that they took at the beginning of the dining experience. Regretfully I won't ever return.
Besides getting my friend's order wrong, everything was great. Luckily he LOVED the tacos he got so he didn't complain. The food is delicious and the bottomless brunch a great deal. DRINK UP!
Friendly service but the restaurant was busy and it took about 20 min to get drinks. Then they served entrees and forgot to bring the appetizer we ordered. Food was good.
Made my birthday so special!! Thank you!
Best server ever! And Paloma pitcher was so good
I enjoyed the environment just not the food. The food is super bland. There's so many other great restaurant options in DC. Maybe come here for happy hour?
Was fine but the food took forever to get, which was annoying.
The host was a bit rude to us, but our server saved the day. The drinks were good, but the food weren't great including the stale chips we got.
It was very busy which was good however, while our server was great and efficient, the drinks were a bit slow… but also tasty.
We made this reservation via Open Table, where the choices available were a "standard" table or high top; we chose a "standard" table. When we arrived to be seated, we asked to be seated outside - the whole of 20th St NW has been blocked off for outdoor dining - and were told that because we had selected "standard" seating, we would have to be seated indoors, where it was stuffed to the gills and too loud to have a conversation. Had we known this, we would not have chosen to eat here. The menu is limited, but the soft tacos were tasty. Not the relaxing evening of slow food and conversation we had hoped for. A little more transparency about seating options is absolutely essential.
Slow service but loved the jazz music outside, food was great
Thanks - really enjoyed Mission. Our first time there and it couldn’t have been better.
Excellent food and nice ambience. Would definitely recommend this place.
SUCH a nice place. Was quite crowded especially for brunch so making a reservation was necessary. The food was great, the pitcher of mimosa was plenty, our server was nice- nothing but good things to say!
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. I wish more options were available. Our server was good but not as attentive as I thought she should be. They were, however, extremely busy. We had a good time.
Waitress was excellent, fast service. Food was ok.
Ordered the waffle fries and they were insanely delicious! Enchiladas were straightforward and yummy. Great drinks, great service. Wonderful eating outside. Overall fantastic dinner spot!
The service took forever and the food was very tasteless
I ordered the Chile wings. They were a little undercooked. Presentation was nice.
We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant but our experience wasn't the best. Our server wasn't very nice and we had asked to have our appetizers brought before our main courses, but she disregarded that and brought everything at the same time. The food was mediocre and didn't make up for the bad service. We won't be coming back.
Our waitress was so great and the food was amazing!!
While the outside is nice under the stars, the tables are plastic and cutlery is plastic in a plastic wrap. Took a while to get the sparkling wine I ordered and it was bad quality. Music was loud and not great. The person I was with said she would recommend it. I personally would not go back. The servers are super nice.
Location location location saved the day for this restaurant. Well location and great service. Food very average and drinks were horrible.
Great vibe, great location, great service… Don’t come hungry.
Lily was a great waitress!
Very lively place. We had a reservation, but it still took us awhile to get seated so they gave us free tequila shots. The drinks and food are ready good. However, on a holiday or weekend it’s quite loud inside due to conversation and music. So, be prepared to shout across the table like you’re at the club basically.
They sat us outside with no heat when our table was supposed to be inside, the waiter took forever to come
You don’t go here for great Mexican food. Definitely mediocre at best. Food was tasteless we had to ask for hot sauce. Guac tasted old - inedible
Service and food was great! Not sure why they are using plastic knives, forks, and cups when washing dishes is just as hygienic and less wasteful.
Mostly a spot to hangout. Food is dolled up cheap regular Mexican fare kinda dry.
The staff was lovely and the food was great BUT they had such strict rules pertaining to bottomless brunch, it was completely unenjoyable. Just skip this place - poor value (SO expensive) and they force everyone at the table to drink. I understand not wanting people to take advantage of the bottomless drink deal, but what about designated drivers and friends who choose to stay sober? They also rush you and kick out your table after 90 minutes - many restaurants claim to have time limits but they were very strict with it. Left feeling really unsatisfied and wish I picked a better place.
Great experience! Amazing queso and good margs
Outdoor patio was huge. Not a big fan of the 90 minute rule.
Love Mission, regularly come here with friends and dates. Happy hour is a great value! Highly recommend the Mission Margs
Good food and music
I'm writing this review understanding that restaurants are understaffed due to COVID. We went to Mission for brunch on a Saturday at 1 p.m. We were seated immediately on the patio with our reservation but a waiter didn't come over for 20 minutes to give us water. 30 minutes into brunch we put in our drink order. And an hour after we arrived, our food was delivered. Again, I understand that all restaurants are understaffed due to COVID, but I think they shouldn't open that many tables if they don't have enough waiters to serve them.
Overall, the food was mediocre and bland, but I'd be willing to give it another try at a less busy time.
Also, on certain Saturdays, a brass band sets up right by the outside seating. The music was enjoyable, but don't expect to be able to talk to the other people at your table.
Made reservations to celebrate at friends birthday. The booking asks specifically what the occasion is for dining and also leaves space for you to give specifics. Despite providing this information, there was no complimentary dessert or any acknowledgement on behalf of the staff.
Also when we were seated the hostess strongly emphasized that we had a strict time limit to our dinner that would start when we sat down. This is fine except that it took over 10 minutes for the waitress to make an initial appearance. The service is slow and that should be considered if the management is timing how long you stay for dinner.
Telling your guests what time they have to leave as soon as they arrive is just tacky and rude.
