The staff here are wonderful and the food is pretty good, too. I strongly recommend it for a pleasant night out.
We loved Mission Bistro. The food was excellent and so was the service! They made us feel very safe in these COVID-times.
Awesome location, food and service... I would recommend
Food was awesome! We loved everything about Mission Bistro!
Simply AMAZING! The spaghetti carbonara was delicious.....best I have had and I am an Italian food snob! The wedge salad...YUM! The seafood portions went above and beyond our expectations! We ordered dessert before our entrées and the waiter was very gracious....you should try it sometime! You only live once? False. You live everyday. You only die once. ;)
First time we have eaten out since Covid and we felt totally comfortable and warm :-) outside. Service was great. Food was good. Would definitely go back.
Always a favorite.
We had a great lunch! The meat the chef prepares is out of this world! Melts in your mouth. We had the French dip & chicken fajitas. My husband claims this is the best French Dip he’s ever had! (As mentioned, super generous with the meat!)
Antonio, our server was a delight — everyone was very warm & welcoming. Will go back!
The fritters are a must and we love the Fajitas! Nice vibe, friendly team and always enjoy.
Mission Bistro was excellent. The food was perfect. The sangria amazing and the service was top notch! I look forward to returning and trying the prime rib.
Not many places accepting reservations so I booked here as my third choice. Turned out to be a quiet week and we probably didn't need them but wow am I glad we booked here.
We were a bit skeptical when seated in the street (no courtyard, not offered an alleyway), but it turned out to be idyllic. The sky was completely clear and the combination of the scent of the local flora coupled with the fresh breeze off the ocean was cleansing and intoxicating.
The service consisted of a team of three instead of just a single server. A waiter, waitress and manager all worked together like a perfectly choreographed symphony.
We were greeted, seated, had water and menus within a minute. Drinks were brought immediately. Orders were taken promptly and the food came in a very short time.
The waiter and manager were very friendly, approachable and attentive. But the waitress (a young Serbian woman) was so personable and endearing. She took the time to tell us a bit more about the area and how things were going during the pandemic.
I believe she was about 7 months pregnant and you could see just how hard she worked and how much she cared about the business. So yes, the service was every bit as great as the food....
Speaking of which, my wife had the fajitas. She said they were the best she's ever had. I ordered the seafood medley (similar to a bouillabaisse) and it was on.point. Savory with plenty of seafood and a nice selection of vegetables and a side of garlic bread. Banana Creme Brulee completed my wife's entire life.
We really wanted to check out Pangea or Mission Ranch but were oh so happy we stumbled upon the Bistro.
The food was stellar. The service was immaculate. The ambiance was fantastic.
Family get together. The food was great and the service was excellent!
We had a wonderful dinner.. staff was extremely accommodating. They welcomed our 4 legged friends with treat and pets... definitely will be returning!
We had Door Dashed from Mission Bistro in January on a visit, and loved the food. Now that patio dining is back, we decided to dine-in this trip. We were impressed. The food was excellent. All staff were pleasant, helpful, and worked at making sure we were warm and comfortable. We would highly recommend this off the main avenue Bistro to all looking for a great dinner!
I was there for a birthday for my girlfriend and I called them and told them about that and when we got there they sat us on the corner of the restaurant away from everyone else next to the propane tanks and in view of the dumpsters. The seats weren't even facing each other. Also, we asked for bread and they gave us a hotdog bun cut in half. The table next to us did the same and got nice bread. I did not complain about the bun but I asked for what they had and they said they do not serve bread usually. The waiter was not the one who gave us the hotdog bun and was extremely apologetic and said the person who gave that to us should have never done that. The food was great but not worth it after everything that happend.
We booked and confirmed our reservation via text, which is a standard OpenTable practice. We arrived only 3 min late and the restaurant decided it was fine to give away our table. Host was extremely rude and refused to even apologize. She kept repeating that she doesn’t receive the OpenTable text confirmation and that we needed to standby our phone hours before the reservation to confirm it. We explained that we didn’t have reception and that this isn’t standard reservation practice to be on standby. She didn’t care and kept repeating her reasoning, refusing to apologize.
The food seems derivative and over priced. Don’t go to this restaurant. Much better service from cheaper and tastier places in Carmel only blocks away. We ended up going to Yafa, one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants only a few blocks away.
We where both disappointed in the service and the quality of the food. For Carmel our home town.
Very attentive service. Food high quality especially lamb shank.
Great for lunch
Great place to celebrate an Anniversary. Servers were warm and friendly-food delicious!
You need to update your website, the place was only open for a take-out.
Great with great service, and a treat in these difficult times
Amazing lunch time with family and friends. Pretty good service, and a honestly priced meal.
Great place to go in these hard times!
We ordered entree salads... they were overdressed, swimming in dressing, and the protein on one of the salads was cold.
It was so dark outside we could not see our food... hope they consider stringing up some lights on the outdoor area!
Our new go-to place in Carmel. Food is fantastic!!!
This place is the bomb for both lunch or dinner! I've eaten here frequently and you can't go wrong. EVERYTHING is awesome, including the service.
Had a nice dinner midweek outdoors due to the pandemic. Portions are very generous and pricing is reasonable for the area. Owner checked in on our experience and answered questions about the cuisine. He was upbeat and fun to chat with.
Lobster bisque soup was very good - rich but with a pleasant tangy flavor (aided by a bit of jalapeño pickle juice, if I remember correctly). Steak Fajitas were generous but a bit bland for my spouse. My mixed green salad with grilled chicken was good.
Service was a little rushed at first — e.g., entree was served before we could finish the first course. But the staff adjusted. (There were several open tables and our entire meal lasted about an hour, so we weren’t being very slow.) Overall, we had a pleasant experience.
I know they are trying to work around COVID but their outdoor seating doesn't have any lights not even a candle. We kept our phone light on during the meal. The food was really disappointing. I had the fish tacos which were breaded and very greasy. The condiments were sour cream and catsup. The fries were good. The lobster bisque had no sign of lobster. The bolognese was probably the best choice but not a lot of flavor. Really wish it was better. Our server was great and the food was served fast. But we would not go again.
The artichokes fritters were great. The wine list was wonderful. Out halibut was perfect. Our service was wonderful. Please support this lovely couple. They are delightful talented people.
It was a fun night. We will come back.
Please add a delicious chocolate option for dessert onto the menu!
I'm allergic to chilis so I always ask if there are any or if the dish is spicy so I got a very spicy dish after asking so that went back. I then asked for a fish dish and the potatoes on it were stone cold. I wasn't impressed at all. I think there are enough restaurants in Carmel to not have to go back to this one although I would be happy to give it another chance.
Waitstaff was very attentive, but food was average at best. Salad was soggy, too heavily dressed and had uninteresting tomatoes. Other food tended to be heavy and oily.
Eating outside, my expectations are reduced. Mission Bistro produced excellent foot, with attentive wait staff. Recommended.
Great place for a Covid lunch in Carmel. Like everyone they can’t wait to get back inside, but they’ve done a great job adapting!
Friendly service. My wife enjoyed her Frutti de Mare, but I had the special chicken piccata, which really wasn’t very good. It seemed like it wasn’t freshly prepared, but was from a sous vide pouch, plus it just didn’t consist of the typical ingredients for chicken piccata.
Pleasant outside dining. Warm, efficient service. Food (especially sauces) exceeded expectations.
First off, our maps via Open Table led us on a wild goose chase to find the restaurant and we nearly gave up but finally found it; the address is correct if you use another map app.
Secondly - the food is AMAZING, they are extremely generous with food and drink portions, are incredibly friendly and attentive without fawning on customers. It was a quiet Sunday evening when we came and had a lovely table outside. Some people came for pick up. We learned that the owner and his fiancé just opened in January (talk about tough timing) and are doing all they can to remain open. What a new jewel of the Carmel community. Seriously - try their food, we had pasta, short rib, and two desserts were sent home since we were so full. The bread pudding is so worth it.
First dinner on honeymoon
Delicious food and efficient service. We go with the flow out on the street dining, but it’s all quite charming. We will be back!
