Named after the intrepid journalist who circled the globe in a record 72 days and exposed hidden truths with bravery and flair, Miss Nellie’s is more than just a bar and restaurant—it’s a celebration of adventure and innovation.

What a hidden gem in the Theater District. We came for cocktails and dinner pre-theater at 4:30 and were one of only a few tables, but by the time we left at 6pm, the place was completely filled. The cocktails were amazing, they even served happy hour specials at the table (vs just at the bar) and the apps and entrees were appropriately sized. The tables are spaced apart so we were able to enjoy our conversation and the decor is absolutely charming and beautiful. This will now be a regular pre-theater spot or anytime we're in the area. Enjoy it!

My mother, who is 73 years old, arrived a bit early for our reservation. On this day, it was over 90° out and my mother asked if she could wait for the rest of our party to arrive inside, as they (understandably) would not seat her until everyone arrived. They told her she could not wait inside as she would be in the way. They said she could sit at the bar but my mother did not want a drink and didn’t feel comfortable sitting alone at the bar so they made her go back outside to the 90°+ heat. I will never, ever go to this restaurant again. This is horrible, inhumane treatment. The staff and owners at Miss Nellie’s should be ashamed.

It is a very interesting looking restaurant with a very different kind of ambience. The food, however, was only mediocre at best.

This was our second visit to Miss Nellie’s and it has become our go-to restaurant in the NYC theatre district. The food is delicious and the menu offers vegetarian options. Excellent bar with bartenders who know how to mix up both traditional and their own delicious concoctions. The wait staff is efficient and cordial. I’ve heard their brunch is amazing…can’t wait to try it!

Miss Nelly’s was so accommodating to our group and the service was so quick and awesome, and it’s become my favorite bar in Midtown.

We ordered off the brunch menu. My boyfriend loved the bacon, egg & cheese on an english muffin. I was excited about the banana bread but it was a huge let down. The drinks were amazing though. Would return just for the drinks. Enjoyed the ambience and photo-booth!!

This place is PERFECT for a drink before a show but NOT for food. The ambience is immaculate. the drinks were pretty good and our server was attentive and polite. The food was mid at best. We got the “crispy” roasted Brussels sprouts which were mushy and not well seasoned. We had two entres: the chicken parm meatballs dish was lukewarm to cold and the fish and chips were soggy. I upgraded to the truffle parm fries which had the lightest dusting of Parmesan and a side of vaguely truffle aioli on pretty standard fries. Not worth the up charge. The breading on the fish was immediately soggy on the bottom and was a textural nightmare. Both entres were $28+, not worth the value at all. We also got the Dubai chocolate cake and it was fine, absolutely NOT worth $22.
