Everything was amazing! Such a wonderful place and excellent service.
The food was wonderful. The scallop appetizer was particularly well balanced. If you want fine dining in Tampa, please skip Bern's and come here. We nor our guests have been disappointed. This was an anniversary dinner that hit almost all the right notes. However, our waiter was perfectly fine for diner service, not for $100/head. I tipped the guy 20%+ so as not to perpetuate the terrible stereotype of poor women tippers. However, he was generally non attentive to our table, and we're not hard to please. For example, the hot tea arrived after dessert was consumed and other indications that he was just not paying attention to us, either in the ways a good wait staff does without being told, or in specific requests like water with no ice.
Food was superb!!! Understaffed, but will give them a pass as to the current situation and I am sure they were not expecting so many people to be there on Saturday night.
We've been coming here regularly for 10 years, last night will have been the last time.
We went to dinner here friends who had never been. We talked up the restaurant, how we've been coming for years, how's its the best food in Tampa. We were embarrassed to have brought them.
Mise en Place has been one of the few Tampa fine dining restaurants worth visiting. The operating word being "was."
My wife had the scallops which were rubbery overcooked and dry. Her broccoli was burned and the lentils dry.
I had the coq au vin, which was anything but coq au vin. It was roasted chicken with parsnip puree, mushrooms in sauce and carrots. It was not chicken in wine. I get interpretations or deconstructed versions of classic dishes, but if that's what you are doing, tell me so I know what to expect. The server also had no concept of what coq au vin was when I asked him.
The rest of the food our friends had was OK at best, even the not-coq au vin was passable. But OK and passable is what you expect at Olive Garden, not a restaurant that bills itself as fine dining.
Lastly they seem to have increased all their prices by 20-30%. All good as long as your food measures up. But charging more for lower quality is unacceptable. Let's not even talk about the $20 Manhattan cocktail I was served when all the cocktails on the menu were $12-15, we're in Tampa, not Manhattan...
Mise en Place current state is a sad fall from grace, I can only hope they can find their way again before they lose more loyal customers.

So amazing we went 3 nights in a row. The Staff, Food and the space were all perfect.
The service was basic. Nothing special. The food was okay, prices were fair, but just not yummy. Just overall wasn’t an experience that matched the ambience. White table cloth didn’t match the service.
Great food, overall a fantastic restaurant
Very nice evening. The remodeling was quite remarkable, a definite improvement. Service was good, no issues. Only one question, who thought up the idea of serving the octopus appetizer with cold (was it sushi) octopus and warm accompaniments? It’s a loser. I took the octopus home and heated it up in the microwave. Very tasty.
Great for special events and romantic dates. Highly recommend.
Still one of the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. Really enjoyed the renovated space; feels more open and elegant. Food and service was exceptional. Rack of lamb remains one of their best entrees as was the salmon. The Mis en Place team continue to make it happen after all the years they have been serving our community.
We were there with a large party. Service was excellent. Food was better. We waited in what was like a private bar by entrance while waiting for our table. It was quite beautiful. We all very much enjoyed our dinners.

Overall, this restaurant is nearly perfect for people who love to dine, in style. The menu is very robust with variety, quality and unique food options. Our server Jamie, was one of the best I've experience in months. What makes her special is she is Knows her food, drinks, wines, how to pair and how to provide a great culinary experience. Even the bread was incredible. This should be a good destination spot for friends, family, clients etc.

Really 4.5 stars. Beef carpaccio, cornmeal crusted oysters and a tomato bisque spiked with Calabrian chilies were all excellent. The cook and prep of the rack of lamb were spot on but the use of Australian rather than domestic, especially Colorado lamb resulted in inferior flavor and texture. Venison with mole sauce was again cooked perfectly and was flavorful. Accompanying rabbit empanada was a nice touch. Don’t skip the olive oil polenta cake. Service was very informative and attentive.
Love this place. Solid food that has sparks of creativity and excitement. Wonderful wine list (for the well-heeled) with some solid choices for all. Will return!
Our waitress, Annette, suggested great courses and gently timed the evening so we were not rushed. She is very knowledgeable about the cheeses. We will be back. Wonderful evening!
Server rattle off specials way to fast and then said " ready to order?"
Was a business lunch and interrupted 3 times while menu was never opened. Restaurant has way too much potential to hire this type of fast food server. Then wrong meals came out to our table. Food was amazing once we got correct meals. Price was a bit steep but expected. If service was upscale, price would not be an issue. I will try again because food was that good.
Updated with a new variety of rooms, a new variety of flavors while keeping the favorites, Mise En Place is a classical but contemporary setting for entertaining or a special occasion.
The food is always good, the service impeccable and the wines superb.

We celebrated our wedding there and returned to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed. The service was wonderful, the food was so good and their made the night just right!

Mise En Place is an excellent restaurant. The food is fantastic from starters to desserts. It's worth the money. We really enjoyed our Valentine's weekend dinner.
The main entrees were very good, but size of portions was small relative to price. The desserts were just okay, nothing to write home about. Enjoyed the overall experience though, a great date night destination
This yearly husband and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Mise en Place expecting something special , unfortunately it wasn’t. Valet parking was not in service, the ambiance was sober( no music playing )the service was extremely slow ( apparently they were trying to serve people attending Andrea Bocelli’s concert first), the bartender mentioned he didn’t have the ingredients to make us a Mise Manhattan so we switched to Old Fashioned ( later Ashley came to apologize and said it was a misunderstanding),the food was just good but nothing special.In the past Ocean Prime and Bern’s Steak House were exceptional, this year Mise en Place was a disappointment .
Fabulous food, presentation and service. The new decor, is light bright and inviting. Nice and open. Had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner. Rack of lamb is off the charts. Also was a great value! We’ll be back shortly, before a show at the Straz.
The food was good, the food options were also good. The back room we stayed in was bland compared to the rest of the restaurant and cars on the street would cast bright lights at us through the window. The rest of the restaurant was very nice. Server was polite but our empty bread basket/plates and later empty 1st course plates stayed on our table for a long time.
Wonderful Valentine's day dinner experience. Seated immediately. Service was good as was the food. Definitely one of Tampa's best restaurants.
Its just not a very good value for the price among Tampa's limited upscale dining options.

Went to celebrate a birthday. Was gifted a champagne toast aperitif, a small appetizer and when ordering the dessert, they dressed it with an edible "happy birthday" design & a candle. Very classy & made the birthday boy feel special! 🙂
Fantastic anniversary experience! .. The food was amazing. The waitress was very knowledgeable, her opinions and recommendations were “on-point”.
