This restaurant is our "go to" restaurant when we want to celebrate a special occasion. We can always count on the food being delicious, the service being right on time and the ambiance being just right. Once again, the wait staff and chef didn't disappoint. Thank you!! ROB & LYNN F.

For the price and supposed class, having tables a mere foot or two away ruins everything. I know more about the lady sitting beside me than I heard about my husband's day.
Overpriced, too fancy food and we have no reason to return.

All in all very good the appetizers were delicious I highly recommend the scallops. We ordered fillet mignon, and it was very overcooked and had to wait quite a while for them to remake it. that was kind of disappointing we had to ask the manager the comp us a drink and desserts. I would highly recommend

One of the most well thought out restaurants I’ve ever been to! Been here many times and every time it’s a new experience in some way. This occasion we had limited time so we just ordered a bunch of small plates and service was perfect. Everything was tasty and interesting especially the Foie Gras! Definitely recommend this place but make sure you give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it!

upscale atmosphere and good service.
Calamari appetizer was not edible because it was so tough that chewing was impossible. They took it back and did not charge me for it.
soft shell crab appetizer was very good
visual display of all food was very good
Venison entrée was good, but not outstanding (no game taste) and not much flavor
Bottom line: upscale restaurant, but the food was not worth the price

I haven’t been to Mise En Place since 2005. It was just as good as the last time I was there! The entire dining experience was amazing!

Have been here several times and always happy with their service and food. This time their food was disappointing. Was not as good as it normally is and staff seemed off. We went to celebrate Valentine's Day but had to go the weekend before because we were working on the 14th. Will probably try again, but not for awhile.

Excellent wine choices, interesting food choices. Beautiful ambiance.
Went for a special occasion and it was a special place. Would definitely return again soon. If you are in the mood for unique cuisine, this is the place.

We came here prior to a show at the Straz, lovely atmosphere, cozy and beautiful. Some of the best service I've ever had. Waitress was knowledgeable, helpful but also have you space. Definitely recommend for date night, anniversaries and just a nice evening out

Started with their arugula salad and charcuterie plate. The former was mediocre - arugula was of average quality, not spicy or with much flavour whatsoever. Did not seem fresh at all. The accompaniment to the salad was lacking. It advertised bacon bits, figs and goat cheese croutons. You get maybe 1 fig in a few pieces, some bacon bits.. and two croutons with a smear of goat cheese. It was pretty underwhelming and forgettable.

As for the charcuterie plate, it was simply terrible. Presentation was anemic due to it being on a massive live-edge wood platter. You got 2-3 pieces of each charcuterie.. tons of mustard (?) and minor accompaniments - a few tiny pickles and not much else. That wouldn't be the end of the world if the charcuterie actually tasted like anything. I'd need to eat a lot more than 2-3 of each to actually register their consumption. The only one that actually tasted like anything was the barbecue pork mousse. The rest was clearly very old and lost its flavour long ago. The pickled shrimp was just... unfortunate. Overcooked shrimp that had toughened in vinegar and turmeric.

Service was pretty good and they seemed quite concerned when we left early. Friendly staff but the food was just bad. Place seemed pretty dead, and I suspect there may be some corner-cutting going on.

I wanted some place romantic but yet I could eat at being celiac. Mise En Place hit the nail on the head. We had the chef tasting with the wine pairing and it didn't disappoint. Enough variety and enough to leave full and satisfied! Jeannie was our waitress and she was phenomenal. She was gracious and answered every question we had and even indulged us with the constant picture taking. We were celebrating my fiance's birthday and so she made sure she brought out the dessert with a candle and joined me in singing Happy Birthday to him. The food was the best I have had in a long time. It was a great experience and one we will enjoy again!

Went here to celebrate a birthday. Had the oxtail poutine, burger, and the pepita crusted chicken. We asked the server for his opinion between two options, and he didn't
seem too interested in spending much time at our table so he did not provide any input and we just ordered. Overall, we were underwhelmed, although the burger was very good. For the price point we were expecting an interesting mix of flavors and the chicken especially was dry and lacked seasoning. The menu was seafood-heavy, so that may be the thing to try if you're going there, but with a seafood allergy, pick somewhere else.

FANTASTIC!!!! We were in a bit of a hurry to get to the airport, and our wait person Jeannie did a great job making sure we were on time. The food was fabulous, it’s a beautiful place - I can’t say enough good things, and we WILL be back!

First time visit, the chef zucchini soup they offer was amazing, the drinks were okay, the calamari appetizer was delicious, the chicken wasn’t that great, I thought of sending it back thinking it would get better, but just ate the veggies around the dish, my husbands steak was amazing, our server was amazing, super helpful and attentive. Didn’t save room for desert, the crowd is definitely a variety, intimate place. The booth is nice, however the chairs are super uncomfortable. Aside from the chicken that had no flavor, the hostess might need a bit training, to question my reservation for being 3 minutes late on a super busy weekend, is ridiculous question in silence and then bring it to my attention if need be.

We very much enjoyed a quick meal at Mise en Place before attending an evening program at the Henry Plant Museum across the street. We told our server, Lisa, that we had only an hour, and she was extremely accommodating. She took our order promptly, brought everything we ordered at the proper pace (given our overall tight schedule), and was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine offerings. Thank you, Lisa! The food was well prepared and delicious. Although we enjoyed our experience overall, we did note that the decor is starting to look a bit dated--it seems quite dark when compared to some of the newer notable Tampa restaurants. Perhaps some updating is in order?
