There may be no more beautiful spot to dine in the Chicago area - ROOFTOP MIRU. The food was splendid! Our first waiter was a bit u friendly and when asked what sushi he might recommend told us, “I don’t eat sushi.” My friend who was with me, does not easily accept mediocrity and asked for a new waiter. The restaurant complied, but still, we were not given enough warning that the sushi kitchen was closing before it did, then we were not given enough warning that the entire kitchen was closing before we could order desert. Again, we do not accept ‘no’ for an answer too easily. Miraculously, one (1) delicious chocolate cake was found and served. We did not order it, we were grateful to receive it, and we did eat it. Still it was poor form to be charged $18.00 for a specific desert unordered. The waiter and restaurant graciously reversed the charge as they certainly should have not charged us in the first place. With all this communication and difficulties (yes, they never served the edamame that was ordered either!) I felt justified and cancelling the unnecessary surcharge posted by this and many other restaurants. To repeat, the location is stunning beyond words on the rooftop. The music playing in the background was also pretty horrible - but of course that is a matter of taste. I would give this restaurant another chance - because the food was fine and the location is unbeatable.

Miru was fantastic!! From our arrival at the hostess stand, to our window side table, that was just a fine beginning. Our server and others in the wait staff we all courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Then came the various courses of food, each different and all absolutely delicious. The desserts we chose were spectacular. Yes we will be coming back for more. Thank you Miru and team for treating my wife and me to an exceptional evening.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary here and had an amazing night. They seated us at a table by the window with a great view of the river and Navy Pier. Our server was very kind and attentive, and food was absolutely delicious.

This sushi was seriously the best sushi I’ve ever had. The dining experience was so lovely and I feel like all of our needs/allergies were met with care!! I would 100% come back just for the ambience and how friendly the staff was. All of the fish was so fresh. Highly highly recommend

Expect to experience great, fresh flavors from this restaurant. The terrace and dining room is both equally impressive. Service is top notched, curated drinks and wine list works well with the menu. And the star of the show is the food.

This was my third visit to Miru. As always, the service was excellent. I tried the steak this time and it was cooked to perfection, very tender and well seasoned. The edamame is always delicious and the best I have had in Chicago! It was my birthday and they had a birthday note on the table when we arrived which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent evening. We were seated early and our server, Jon, was stellar. The special Bloody Marys were very tasty and so were the Japanese vodka martinis. We had the Hamachi Wasabi, Triple Tuna and Spicy Salmon rolls which were all excellent except the Spicy Salmon was not spicy and the wasabi that came on the platter had very little taste. Diver Scallops were excellent. Wonderful experience and great view. Definitely going back.

Miri was outstanding we really enjoyed ourselves!! My husband felt it was the best meal he ever had. The waitress Seoul was wonderful! So nice so great! Tge view was so beautiful!

We had an issue with our seating, but Lewis the manager went above and beyond to make sure our date night was all that we had hoped for when we booked our reservation a month in advance. Kudos to the management, and compliments to the chefs.

We were able to eat outside overlooking a panorama of Chicago extending from the Trump Tower to Navy pier.. The shrimp tempura, nigiri and creative sashimi dishes were excellent. The pork fried rice needed a little something.. The service was outstanding. A fun splurge night.

I don’t know what people are talking about with “bad service” ours was above and beyond. There was hardly a moment where there was a dirty plate at our table before someone came to get it. Also, our waitress was so attentive. Food was amazing, vibes were immaculate. The menu is great too because they have more filling options and options that people who do not necessarily like sushi would like. Drinks were great and they have half wine bottles which was amazing for those who don’t want a full bottle.

All around incredible experience. Darren Lovell and team were fantastic hosts. This is the most fresh sushi outside of Japan we have ever had. The views were spectacular and the drink and desert selection were amazing. Spectacular job

Loved the grilled avocado, broccolini, crispy crab roll. Thought the spicy tuna, hamachi and shrimp tempura rolls were average. The coconut mango sorbet and matcha gateau and endamame were tasty. Best part is the views and service!

Make sure to enjoy the view from Miru. The nigiri sushi is outstanding and I highly recommend it. The wait staff is very attentive, too. The hot green tea is not Japanese green tea so don't be surprised by that. This restaurant is really top notch!

FOOD very fresh and unique SERVICE the waitress (SOL) may have been one of the most unorganized I’ve ever had. She decided not to write our order down (which is fine when the server knows what they’re doing) forgot two appetizers (one of which the food runner delivered to the table next to us then tried giving back to us after they already touched it) she then forgot to put in our entrees.. after waiting 40 minutes for her to return we asked about our cod and scallops.. she blamed the kitchen and asked what food we had already received (since she decided never to check back with us after putting in our second round of appetizers) the cod and scallops were delivered within 3 minutes (once she finally put them in) she then came back 20 minutes later and asked if we received them.. upon receiving the bill we noticed we were charged twice for the appetizer that was given to the other table.. We decided to share our experience with the manager (LOUIS) he seemed uninterested and arrogant. We love lettuce entertain you restaurants.. but this one needs some work (or at least proper staff training)

I have so much to say! The food and drinks are delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The decor is lovely, hip, inviting and comfortable. The patio is lush and has outstanding views. The waiting areas to be seated are absolutely beautiful. Thus being said, I love Miru! It is pricey if you are on a budget— expected at the Saint Regis. However, it is a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion.
